Pros: Near convenient subway lines. Cons: The landlord is predatory. There are mice and roaches with no real solution. They do not make repairs. They do not fix mold. They will keep your security deposit. If you do get your security deposit, it is not kept in an escrow account as required by law.

Pros: The apartment layout is amazing!! So spacious and great deal when it comes to space for sure. Cons: Weird shit going down in the basement, sometime you don’t feel safe doing laundry in the laundry room, roach problem (exterminator has come multiple times but didn’t help we had to fix ourselves), not great water pressure, sometimes no hot water :/ Advice to landlord: Listen to your tenants, we all know what we think and have our own community here

Unit 43 Pros: The people in the building are nice. Cons: The superintendent Jorge is horrible. He has no initiative to take care of the building and every night he has a bunch of shady people going in and out of the basement. Very creepy. Advice to landlord: Hire a better superintendent.

Pros: I lived here for many many years. Compared to other buildings I have lived it; it is decent. It has a main gate and a nice lobby area. The neighbors are a mix of young people and families. There is a laundry room in the basement. Cons: The elevator is small and smells a lot of the time Packages are stolen in the lobby. Building management is really hard to get a hold of. We had mice in the apartment and rats downstairs in the basement trash area. Advice to landlord: Update the occupied apartments!

Pros: Conveniently located to the A/C/1 trains as well as multiple grocery stores. The block and building residents are mostly quiet. I’m in a renovated apartment in this building so it is updated and spacious (for an NYC apt at least). Typically management has an exterminator come monthly. Cons: Management is slow to get back to you via phone or email. Have had some issues with pests in the apt, mainly mice and roaches, as well as leaks from the apartment above. Elevator goes out semi regularly and have had some heat/hot water outages, but both are fixed usually fairly quickly. Given the proximity to the fire station and hospital you often hear sirens, and the summer time has lots of music playing (which gives it a fun, friendly vibe imo) so if you’re sensitive to noise either have a fan, background music, or earplugs for sleeping.

Pros: Large apartment and close to grocery store, laundry, some restaurants, etc. Cons: Basement has laundry but you’ll never want to use it because it’s so nasty down there. Trash is kept there so lots of pests visible.

Pros: Elevator, gated entry, unique wood work, great windows, spacious, nice neighbors Cons: Roaches in basement, owner unresponsive and slow, rats in basement, elevator often doesn’t work, stolen packages Advice to landlord: Please figure out a way to keep roaches and rats out of the basement where the laundry room is.
