My husband and I have lived here for almost 2 years and it was great at the beginning. I loved the apt (townhome) and was very hopeful since it was our first apt together. Maintenance is good, Staff is okay, and neighbors are mostly friendly. A couple of months ago our neighbors moved in and the noise in unbearable now. The worst thing is neighbors say its us and the office has been rude since then. We are currently looking for apts. Also, the parking is HORRIBLE. If u don't have a sticker ("they only give 1 per apt") don't get home after 5pm. There won't be parking.

CHEAP AS HECK! Close to 59, 610, and the Westpark Tollway. Other than that... it's just plain cheap, decent, but cheap. One particular member of management needs to be fired for being rude on a day-to-day basis. Recently my electricity was cut off, I called her, she said there was an emergency, didn't give me a time of how long it would take to come back on, and cut me off before I could keep talking. Parking is horrible, come home late from work around midnight and you're screwed. Visitor parking? Don't even think about it. Tell your folks to go back home. Security is very present, unless they're partying in my apartment. Safety is adequate, no problems, no burglaries, nada. I have a Town Home style apartment- upstairs living room connected to a downstairs living room, 1 kitchen, 1 bath, 3 closets, and 1 two story window. Maitenance always comes for odd reasons when you don't want it, management has a horrible time of taking care of requests. I've had a leaky faucet for a year, my shower runs on either scolding hot or extremely cold, heavy rain causes unavoidable heavy leakage for weeks, there is a 4x4 mold formation on my cealing, I'm just waiting for it to cave in, roaches are a problem, feral cats outside are a problem, huge masses of children running through the parking lot are a problem, but that's about it, hate the washing machine room where you have to charge a particular card for credit, the carpet is nasty, walk 50 steps and your feet become completely covered in black dirt, I always walk around in socks or am forced to wash my feet off in the tub on the regular. AC works great, ceiling fan is great, stove is great, lots of wall outlets, small closets in numbers, could use more lighting downstairs at night, quiet, good fridge, I have secret pitbull they don't know about, and I party with security upstairs, that's about it. I hate it, but it's unfortunetly home because I'm broke.

when I move to this apartment I really did like it from the beginning because the management was nice but now I don't think so they don't care about their resident today they were remodeling have of my apartment and they didn't even give me notices to let me know that they will do some work into the apartment. And usually I don't stay home on weekdays but today I wasn't feeling myself so I call in work to stay at home until I feel better, while I was sleeping someone 3was knocking my door so I wake up and open the door. the construction guys were there so I asked them what are you guys doing in front of my door then they said madam we are here to remodeling half of your department today he said didn't your lander give you a note and I was so shocked and very disappointed. anyways my contractors will be over on December I don't think I will renew it

This apartment complex sucks!! The visitors parking, is always filled with residents, and they tow people without stickers. So you can't visit the apartments without worrying about parking. 80% of the people in the visitors lot have stickers!!!! The apartments do nothing about it. The security is RUDE. They said "well find a spot, or leave" I was visiting my cousin in Houston!!!!! Where was I supposed to go???? This is the worst, and cheapest complex in Houston by far.

These apartments suck!!! Their maintenance, not to even say. They say they will get things done and they never do. The time i have been here i have had a leak, that took days to get fixed. My constant problem is the pest, it is infested of cockroaches and mice!!!!! I throw out like 6 mice per month on the little sticky pads...NASTY. And when i call the office for them to come they say they will and never seem to come!!! Worst customer service ever, and their supervisor no to mention!! She is the worst of all, the leasing staff is friendly and so is the manager but the supervisor is so rude!

I have lived here for 2 years and have enjoyed it. The ladies in the office are super sweet and really do care for there property. I have seen the manager Gracie walking at 8 at night, that says alot. I work in the industry and must say I love my apartment. I love that maintenance responds quick to any maintenance issues I have. The property is clean and parking is not to bad. I do appritiate all the functions they have for the residents to have a better sence of community. In a whole for the SW side of town this is a good place to call home.

Just thought I would warn any prospective residents away from this horrible place! I have honestly never visited this community but I never would after dealing with a very rude and unprofessional woman on the phone! She really needs to get some... or change professions.

The manager here, Steven Nowak, admitted he wouldn't live here. He's got kind of a 'slumlord' mentality about the place, reminds me of the 'Boss' in the prison from the movie 'Cool Hand Luke'. If there's any kind of problem, it's your fault, primarily because you chose to live there. They say they check for criminal backgrounds before people move it..I guess they let them move in here anyway. Check out the Texas Sex Offender's database - it's free - punch in the zip code here (77081) and you'll find you'll have plenty of neighbors at South Oaks on that database. They really don't care.
