I would recommend living elsewhere. Reoccurring issues with power outages and water not working. Paper thin walls. Water leaked through the apartment ceiling. I hear my neighbor stomping and playing music constantly. The price is not commensurate with the consistent issues this place has.

My wife and I have lived here for 7 years; since we first moved in, management has changed hands and so has the front office staff. It was a decent experience in the beginning which has suffered quite a bit. The staff is now unhelpful and acts like doing anything for a tenant is a huge ordeal. They used to use Fetch, which was a very efficient system delivering packages to your door, to switching so Luxer one, a packaging system where you have to go get your packages yourself. Woe unto you if you are out of town and someone sends you a package, they will send it back after a week....oh and sometimes that system goes down, so you can't receive your packages either. In the meanwhile, they keep raising rent but add no values. We'll be moving out at the end of our lease. Pro - close to med center if you need to be close to that. Con- pretty much everything else

My husband and I have lived here since April 2021, everything has been excellent. It's in a nice neighborhood, no noise as far as other residents go, close to everything, safe... The management and maintenance staff have been very helpful and professional. We have had a couple of maintenance issues, but they were taken care immediately. There are washer/dryers in every unit . Actually, there are no negative remarks from us at all. We would definitely recommend this property

Dreadful-Giselle threatened to call the Police when I went to the Management Office to complain about noise, thefts and then refused to allow me to put an ADT sticker on my door to deter thieves, An old, tired building with open stairwells providing easy access to thieves-numerous cars stolen/damaged, numerous burglaries and a terrible new Management Company. I lived here a long time purely because there was nothing else in the area i needed-I have moved out now and wish I had done it sooner....please don't go there

The new management sucks! Pinnacle is the neu management. Very bad service. rude on-site manager gisela is her name. very very rude. they don't even take care of parcels. mine got lost, and some random neighbor had taken it and returned it 3 weeks later. management does not know how to attend to customers. they make you pay for a service to get your own packages delivered. you can no longer deliver parcels to your own house! this is terrible. they force us to pay for an external service to send all our packages to. they have increased rent with decreased/no security service. i see no police officers going around maronial. new managament is very poor, they are only interested in spending more money in painting, cutting down trees (they cut down 7 big fully grown trees) in the last 3 months just waiting for lease to end. will leave.

I've spent several years at the Maroneal now and am only just now leaving. Overall my experience was good right up until the last few months (coinciding with the new management under Pinnacle). Despite my repeated requests to go month-to-month and assurances from the previous Assistant Manager that that's what I would get, I was instead misled into signing a year long contract and now have to spend what few funds I have on an early termination fee. Despite showing them the email stating my intentions, they did not even lower the price of the early termination and were incredibly unhelpful and rude. I had no idea that a company's integrity could be sold so cheaply. Maintenance was good under Lincoln, but under Pinnacle it's shoddy at best. The wiring in my apartment is extremely faulty. The kitchen light doesn't work and all the maintenance people did was change the lightbulb, which didn't help the situation. When I run the dishwasher the power to my router goes out, making me concerned of a fire hazard. The washer/dryer units have vents which barely function and I have to run my clothes through 3 times in order to get them close to dry. This is after Pinnacle stated that they would clean these vents. The noise and security in this apartment isn't great. Under Pinnacle I saw a few security personnel regularly. I now see none. People yell and honk horns outside my window at 2AM, and on the other side of the complex is DeBakey High School with "exuberant" security officers who love their whistles. Nothing has been done about either of these to my knowledge. Overall the new management is shady, misleading, money-hungry, and disorganized. I was planning on returning to this complex in 4 years when I return from medical school. After all, it's close to Rice Village and the Medical Center. Under Pinnacle, however, I have no intention of returning and am telling everyone I know to give this place a wide berth.

When apartment hunting we all think to take reviews with a grain of salt and that there's both sides to every story. I'd say 99% of these reviews require no grain of salt or other story since they are very on par with the treatment that goes on here. Nevertheless this review and subsequent reviews from tenants won't change anything, I see people move in here everyday. I guess it merely helps us vent some sort of frustration. Anyway, if you want to live in an apartment that grew toxic mold (tested by third party company) since Managers said mold can only grow after months of standing water, that you didn't contribute to and be forced to move out with no compensation or even consideration of the limited options to go on a months notice. Then this is the place for you. Lease unit 514 available 7/7/19

WORST PLACE TO LIVE. MANAGING STAFF ARE RUDE AND I HAVE BEEN LIVING IN AN APARTMENT WITH BROKEN APPLIANCES FOR WEEKS TO MONTHS. THEY ARE NOT FIXING IT. THEY ARE TRYING TO SAVE MONEY AND THUS NOT FIXING ANYTHING. I DO NOT HAVE A WORKING MICROWAVE OR WASHING MACHINE. THEY CAME ONCE TO TRY TO FIX IT AND CREATED A WATER LEAK BY BUSTING A PIPE AND RUINED MY BEDDING AND REFUSE TO REIMBURSE ME FOR IT. ON TOP OF THAT I CANNOT EVEN WASH ANY OF THE BEDDING BECAUSE MY WASHING MACHINE IS STILL BROKEN.

The worst apartment complex I have ever lived at. The people above us are super loud and I've made a total of 3 noise complaints over the phone and 2 emails sent to management and nothing has been done. Our washer machine wasn't working right so they ordered a new one and the maintenance who installed it switched the hoses so if you wanted to wash with cold water the hot water was used instead. This was going on for months before we realized it and raised our bill. I can't even talk to family on the phone in the comfort of my home because the service is terrible. There is a car horn that is currently going off and has been for 20 minutes. There are always car alarms going off too at all hours of the night. A woman was mugged inside the complex and the gates hardly lock so anyone has access. There has been multiple breaks in and thefts as well. The hallways are disgusting. There has been two emergency water shut offs within the last two months. The hot water for the shower lasts 10 minutes and the part maintenance needs to fix it still isn't here or they didn't even order it. When it would rain two bedroom windows would leak. Nobody picks up their dog poop and it's everywhere. It is way too expensive for the quality and service. Stay far far away!!!

Stay away!!! This apartment is highly overrated and overpriced. Given my experiences of having been here for over a year, I find it difficult to justify the amount of rent you pay for this apartment in medical center. Other than being located at a convenient place, there is nothing else that could be termed as "meeting expectation". Following are some of the key concerns that residents like me have experienced. 1. Leasing center staff is highly incompetent, almost to the extent of being useless and on certain occasions, ultra-rude. Staff turnover has been so much that you meet a different set of people every month in the leasing office and they all make you believe that being incompetent and rude seem to be the pre-requisite for the job there. 2. Safety is possibly the biggest concerns. I chose this apartment over the others in the vicinity (i.e. Greenbriar, Lanesborough etc.) as big claims were made by the leasing office people as to how safe Maroneal was when compared to others. I have witnessed equal number of break-ins and thefts if not more when I compare the numbers with incidents that have happened in other nearby apartment. Given the nature of the break-ins I have seen, I strongly suspect that someone from the staff is involved. 3. Upkeep of the amenities is dismal, certainly nowhere close to being a "Premium Luxury apartment in the Medical Center". Hallways are always dirty, garage gate is wide open and non-functional at least half the days in a month and side gates not getting locked most of the times - both posing a major security concern, swimming pool is closed for maintenance. 4. Exorbitant water bills with no transparency at all for the way water bill is calculated. Trash pick-up charges are $25 that is excluded from the rent. Ageing air-conditioning units will bump up your electricity bills by at least $30-$45. Be prepared to pay anywhere close to $100 on top of your rent in these hidden charges. I would strongly suggest staying away from this property as far as possible - 3 of my friends who recently moved to Houston have already chosen other apartments in the vicinity over Maroneal. There is no point paying extra $200-$400 for nothing extra.
