“Unit 3E Pros: Apartments are spacious Cons: No hot water, constant unresolved maintenance issues, roaches, overflowing trash out front, trying to steal our security deposit Advice to landlord: Sell the building to someone who knows how to run an apartment building”
— 2300 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Unit 5A Pros: The apartment are spacious, 3 bed and 1.5 bath. Close to the subways Cons: If somethings breaks, good luck getting it fixed at all. if Heat stops working you will freeze and they wont fix it until it too late. Advice to landlord: Be more responsive”
— 2258 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Unit E1 Pros: Management was pretty responsive and helpful but that was all. Zero Covid relief Cons: Poorly renovated, bad water pressure and inconsistent heat. Mice and roach infested. A month before moving in in 2019 I obtained documents where the landlord had reverted the unit from being market price to rent controlled, but had us sign a contract starting that the unit wasn’t rent controlled Advice to landlord: Give people a descent standard to a decent living price. 1bedroom apartment with no washer, dryer, dishwasher or central air and 5 flight walk up and infested with mice and riches should NOT be rented out for over $1900. Outrageous”
“Pros: The neighbors are great. The space is good. Cons: Unresponsive and lazy supers. Takes forever to get anything fixed properly. Advice to landlord: Listen to your tenants and fix their problems in a timely manner. Stop cutting corners.”
— 2254 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Pros: Nice natural light throughout the day. Close to a park, Huge amount of space. Cons: Over priced. THIN walls. Can hear everything from the street and your neighbors.”
— 2232 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Unit 1A Pros: Clean, close to transportation, shopping areas. Cons: No heat, employees don’t do their job, tenants make building unsafe breaking secure building door. Waited a month for a 10 minute job for my refrigerator to be fixed.”
— 2258 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Pros: It's a small building (only 8 units total), so not too much foot traffic coming in/out of the building. Cons: The building has had inadequate heat since winter 2020 and management has refused to fix the issue. They keep telling tenants it's a unit issue when in fact it is not. Advice to landlord: Tenants deserve heat and not to be lied to. Please fix -- heat is a basic right.”
— 2232 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Pros: The community people were friendly and kind. Cons: Pests, dirtiness and noise. Advice to landlord: Better management!!”
— 2247 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Pros: The shopping areas are not too far. Cons: In the Winter they don’t provide heat at all. So if you’re looking for a summer home then you’re in luck. Advice to landlord: Treat tenant’s better than what you are treating them. This property I believe is ran by a slum lord.”
— 2254 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Pros: 3 bedroom apartment had 2 bedrooms. Spacious apartment and great location! Cons: We were unknowingly evicted August 2015 and in March 2016 they told us we had 6 days to leave. They said they served us the eviction papers in August but we never saw an eviction notice on our door and they continued to take our rent payments during the "eviction period" for months after. We were young adults and they took advantage of the fact that we would not be able to afford a legal battle while simultaneously searching for a place to live all in under 7 days. The super would hit on my roommate and I and made us very uncomfortable. Advice to landlord: You are horrible for the lack of transparency”
— 2258 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Pros: Location and convenience to the subway, the neighborhood is friendly Cons: Moldy ceilings from water leaks, rats, mice, cockroaches, no heat, no hot water, landlord takes a long time to respond to issues, raised rent during COVID19, walls are thin, can hear everything outside and above, appliances are cheap. Advice to landlord: Be accountable”
— 206 WEST 133 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Loved the spaciousness and the neighborhood. Loved my neighbors as well. Cons: It’s right between a police station and fire station, so be aware that it’s VERY noisy. Also your super doesn’t live there and won’t fix anything. Like...anything. The building is also hell-bent on destabilizing every unit. Advice to landlord: New management. And to take safety seriously- the front door hasn’t locked for over two years. Shame.”
— 2258 ADAM C POWELL BLVD · Manhattan“Pros: Gas and heating free. Cons: Lack of heat in winter Plenty of mice . Bedbugs appeared 3 times in a year. Drug addicts inside the hall(don’t know how they enter) injecting. Management company only returned my deposit after I told I was going to sue them. Keep out of this building Advice to landlord: Change the company that manages your building. They don’t answer phone, never return or reply an email. The common areas are dirty.”
