I've resided in this structure for almost a year and can't wait for my lease to end. By month 3.5, I was already desperate to leave. The office team is incredibly unresponsive—solid luck getting anyone to actually pick up the phone. You'll typically reach voicemail instead of a real person. The property manager ignores callback requests and the leasing associate provides incorrect answers. I spent 6 months trying to get my doorbell installed. Eventually I gave up since it clearly wasn't happening. Throughout the final 4 months, the leasing associate kept claiming the property manager would call to arrange the doorbell setup because only he can do it, but that call never came. To make it worse, when I called once about it, the leasing associate mentioned the property manager had helped other tenants with their doorbells the day before and seemed confused why I hadn't heard from him. I value straightforward communication. If the doorbell won't be fixed, just tell me that instead of repeatedly making excuses. The structure has 2 elevators but only one functions. Don't bother waiting for it during move-ins. I was informed the second elevator won't be repaired so we shouldn't expect it—apparently one working elevator is sufficient. Except we're talking about 6 floors with 70 units. Having both elevators operational would be ideal. I returned from a weekend away to discover water dripping from my ceiling into the kitchen. I called mgmt right away, but since it was the weekend, they weren't accessible. I left a upkeep message and hoped someone would respond. Nobody did. I had to contact the office again about the leak, and they acted like they'd heard nothing. They said they'd send upkeep to paint the ceiling. Pleasant gesture, but shouldn't you locate and fixing the source of the leak first? Apparently I was asking too much—it took nearly 3 weeks to resolve and repaint, and only after multiple follow-up calls. After 9 months here, my next crisis emerged: bed bugs. The property manager mentioned during his visit with the exterminator that one unit is heavily infested and has been treated multiple times, but the tenant isn't following through on her end. Now my friend also has them in her unit on a different floor. The property manager explained they treat apartments as infestations are reported, but they're not taking preventative measures. I had to discard my bedding, mattress, and box spring, and according to the property manager, that's my concern with no compensation—despite their lack of proactive intervention. I'm typically easygoing, but learning this concern has existed for over a year with no structure-wide treatment? I was stunned. The property manager explicitly stated they only treat individual apartments as problems surface. They won't spend $250 per unit to treat the whole structure preventatively. The structure itself is attractive and has lots of promise under better mgmt. Right now, mgmt does the bare minimum and ignores tenant concerns. I'm relieved my lease will soon be finished. This is absolutely not somewhere I'll regret leaving.
