My mom & I applied for a 1 bedroom on November 17, 2025. Received an email on November 19,2025 that we both met the minimum requirements to rent. After providing all the necessary documents (previous rental information, background check etc) Shenelle confirmed all information was received just waiting on one more rental verification. After all information was received our application was put on WAIT pending Aad availability and the move in date was pushed back to December 15, 2025. The original date was November 28, 2025 to move in. Every time I or my mom spoke with Shenelle she would say previous landlords did not answer or had her on hold for a long time. That was hard to believe because each time I called or my mom someone always picked up. Also Shenelle would say different things as to what she was waiting for to finish our application. On December 2, 2025 a different woman Armarilis who actually works at the office in Chicago stated my mom withdrew her application. Which isn't true, then after I told her that isn't true she stated Shenelle told her my mom’s application was denied. My mom spoke with Armarilis to inform her she did not withdraw her application. Armarilis to my mom she was denied due to filing bankruptcy 8 years ago. My mom has yet to receive an email or anything explaining this. My mom has been approved for a 3 bedroom house in the south suburbs. I find it hard to believe that she was denied by an Aad complex for a 1 bedroom. Shenelle is dishonest as well as Armarilis, I will be filing a formal complaint with every outlet they have. I feel that Shenelle or either Armarilis is deciding off their own personal reasons as to who THEY WANT to rent out to. Although this Pite is nice I would NEVER WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH PEOPLE LIKE THIS.
