A TRUE ROACH MOTEL. This building and the property manager will sell you a complete dream, however, the building is nasty and riddled with ROACHES both large and small. The hallways and common areas stink of old mold and nast. They rotate property managers who will tell you lies. They never fix anything and the laundry area machines are often broken not to mention that it is too small for the size of the building. From the first floor you can see the small black flying bugs that signify dirt. The employees will try and make you feel like you are crazy to keep complaining, however the roach problem here was surprising at first then it became unbearable. THE ROACHES ARE EVERYWHERE. There are more affordable places in the area that will offer better quality of living. DO NOT be hoodwinked by this nasty living facility. TLC Properties should be ashamed for this establishment. In addition, Robert, the property manager threatened to send people to legal during the COVID-19 Crisis.

This has go to be the worst apartment I have ever lived in. The place is infested with roaches and the current manager, Robert Krystyn, will only send the exterminator if requested. They should at least have an exterminator come every week just because the building is right by the lake and should automatically be apart of maintenance routine. I asked reimbursement for rich supplies which was previously given to me by the last manager but Robert refused. I do NOT recommend living at this building due to the roach infestation.

I lived here for one year, and living there was the motivation I needed to finally purchase my house. It was absolutely horrible. To begin with, everyday you have to drive around to find a place to park. Heaven forbid you are out late. You will wind up 5 blocks away. I lived on the first floor and every day some kind of foam (maybe from the laundry room) would come up through the kitchen sink, how gross! My biggest complaint is the woman in the office (Marisol) who entered my apartment unauthorized and when I called corporate, the next day the maintenance guy emptied the vacuum cleaner outside my door, the one they use to vacuum dog hair and dog poop. Oh and my bike was stolen out of storage, even with a surveillance camera in the hall and lobby. I hated every minute of it.

I'm a current resident here. My bike was stolen from the bike room and the management is pretty lackadaisical about it. They have video cameras but getting the footage is apparently very difficult to do. It's an ok place, but be careful about your stuff as the management don't seem to care when stuff gets stolen.

If you value your morning shower, do not move here. I have had issues with the shower from day one with a lack of water pressure and never knowing if it was going to be scorching hot or freezing cold from one second to the next. The water pressure has gotten so bad that it literally comes out one drip at a time. I do not know if this is just my unit, but I'm guessing it's a problem throughout the building. Other than that, I cannot have more than 3 things on in my kitchen at a time (Light, Microwave, George Forman Cooker) otherwise it ends up tripping the fuse. Good things...minus the bathroom and the kitchen everything else is mediocre. Oh, maintenance crew is very attentive and generally fixes problems the next day, if they are able to fix them that is.

the manager of this building seems nice, later you realize that she is actually mean. she tries to cut on costs by not properly renewing the apartments, using cheap materials to paint and fix them. you can tell because things start breaking and paint is chipping soon after you move in. it stinks like urine by the entrances and like stuffy dirty house in the hallways. weird people are met often. they even tried to overcharge me, but i knew what was going on. and why is the staff constantly changing? how can we trust them?

There were problems there from Sept. 2006 through Feb. 2007 due to Ms. Powell. She was relieved of duties in feb. of 2007. Things were not getting fixed properly, robberies and drugs were running through the building, while her and TLC looked the other way. TLC also charged me for things that I didn't have to pay for. I liked the place, but because of a few bad apples, I ended up moving.

Okay so I kinda don't understand what some of these reviews are talking about. I have never seen urine in the stair wells, I have never had a wall full of mold, and no one in the building has ever made me feel the least bit uncomfortable. I love my apartment it has a lot of light, a nice new kitchen, some really awesome vintage features like the old kind of floor tile and very pretty molding. As far as the management goes the girls in the office now have always been friendly asking me how things are going in my place and are happy to answer any questions. The maintenance is fabulous (yes things do break its an old building)if I put in a request during the week it is almost always fixed by the time I get home. My neighbors are nice and its in a great location for me so when my lease is up in a couple months I plan on staying.

I have had nothing but headaches and an overall nightmare since looking to rent an apartment from TLC last May (2007). I moved here from the East Coast, and the apartment in the building I agreed to rent was rented to someone else; they tried to give me an apartment sight unseen that practically touched the fire escape of the building next door. Instead, I was given an apartment in Museum Walk. The management company has been irresponsible, failing to pass on my maintenance requests to the maintenance department in a timely manner. I lived with a moldy, wet wall for nearly three months. The management company has changed hands several times-- there are new people in the office on a monthly basis. The people who work here now are far, far, far from accomodating. Since moving here, I have noticed that the building upkeep has declined significantly-- the elevator smells horrific and there was urine in the back staircase two weeks ago. My apartment attracts more dust than I ever thought possible. In all, I do not feel like this building is a nice environment to live in, and although it may seem okay when you first see it, rent elsewhere.

I highly recommend this building to everyone. In fact I made $750 for referring my friend who also moved in to Museum Walk. It is a good deal for the money. The maintenance staff are polite and prompt. There has been a change in management staff but the new people are really great. I have lived here for a year now and absolutely love it!
