The rent is very cheap compared to other buildings in the area. Location is prime and within walking distance of many major attractions and points of interest. Neighborhood is safe and building is safe and quiet. Not the Waldorf but good place for the price for first time renters or those first moving to LA on a tight budget or not having credit. I see a lot of complaints about bugs but virtually every apartment building in LA and Hollywood over ten years old has some sort of bug problem. Solution: don’t leave food out or water out and bugs won’t have a reason to be there. All things considered this is a safe and affordable place to live and offers a roof over your head for those with limited options and you really can’t beat the location.

LOVE this building! Underground parking, beautiful apartments with lots of space! Walking distance to a ton of great places to eat and nightlife. Did I mention parking?

If your smart you will not move here, bugs, do not clean anything, just pray when you move in the elevator is working. Just a quick note there is a reason they take you with bad credit, just think about it. Management sucks!!!!! Just be aware of the unwanted guests that enter your apartment crawling on 4 legs. Or the homeless you may see sleeping in the halls.

Requests for fixes go with promises and no action. You'll wait months and it's always "next week we will fix that" and it doesn't happen. Management does not care. The hallways and lobby are in old and in a state of disrepair.

I would not ever recommend this roach infested building to anyone! Not only was my unit not cleaned as promised before we moved in, but I had to move into a hotel for 3 days since the building manager Constantin promised us a move in date that was earlier than he could accommodate. We planned on moving in when he told us, but had to spend the extra money to pay for a hotel. He also promised that our apartment would be painted and in move in ready condition. Finally when we saw the condition of the apartment 3 days after our anticipated move in date, I had to buy $200 worth of cleaning supplies and contact paper for the cabinets to clean the disgusting and filthy mess that was left by the previous tenant. The walls were not painted, dirty floors the windows were disgusting. Mind you, this was 3 days after we were promised we could move in!!!! I deep cleaned the entire place as there was dog hair, human hair, grease, broken glass, scum, and urine stains everywhere. On the day I moved out, a man who had moved into the unit next to mine THE DAY BEFORE was moving RIGHT BACK OUT because of a roach infestation in his new apartment. The building manager was not accommodating at all and blamed everyone else for the buildings shortcomings. He constantly blamed the owners and said that everything was out of his control. Even when our door handle in our bathroom and our sink in the bathroom were broken beyond repair, no one was sent to fix them until 35 days later. I left that apartment in better condition than I had found it. He also then took a $1530 dollar deposit which he said would be refunded 3 weeks after move out date. Then, during move out, even when he came to assess the apartment with me he said that everything looked great and there would be a full refund of our deposit. That never happened! I didn't get my deposit back until 31 days later and they took out $130 to "repaint the apartment" and "repairs" when it had never been painted, fixed or cleaned in the first place. When we called the building manager to discuss what these charges were in regards to, he ignored our calls 11 times until we called with an unknown number to which he FINALLY answered. He gave us the excuse that it was " out of his control." So here we sit with a partially refunded deposit, too much work put in and no satisfaction! In fact, they should repay me for all the work and cleaning I had to do to make that place livable! This building is a joke. The halls are DISGUSTING and smell like dog pee. The building manager is a thief, a liar, and a gypsy! NOT worth the headache. If you find yourself desperate, you're never too desperate to have to move into this place!

Just move in November 2011 and i love the building. The building is really safe (the parking garage especially. i drive a convertible and i never put my top on in the garage and had no problems) and clean. The management is great and you can reach them anytime. Happy i chose this place

We have lived here for two years. When we first moved in the manager Jay Jay was wonderful. She took care of everything. The owner is a miser who only wants to collect rent but put very little into the building. In my opinion he's a disgusting pig.So last year, Jay Jay was replaced by a new manager Constantine. Constantine is lazy and does nothing!! NOTHING!! The elevator was out for a week and not even an apology. (It was memorial day weekend and he didn't want to pay the extra to get things fixed. i am sure the ADA requires a more immediate attention) However the building is in a nice location, despite the fire station being right behind the building. Oh, and there are frerquent fire alarms in the building. Don't worry, the Fire Dept rarely arrives, despite the fact that they could walk!!! (They must be tired of the poor management here too!)

I have lived in this building for 2 years now. Over the last few months new management has taken over the building and the building has gone to poo-poo. The new managers are never in the leasing office, they are somewhat hard to get a hold of when urgent issues such as leaks from the up-stairs units, and other emergency plumbing issues have occurred. Either the management severely lacks the skills, or desire to properly manage this building, or the owners have little desire to fix the major problems with this building. Plumbing sucks, Very little Hot water, management is rude, and unreliable, maintenance guy is a nice guy, but the jobs do not get finish effectively and they are not professionally fixed. I'd imagine the building violates many codes.

My boyfriend and two cats just moved into the Sierra House last week and we love it. The manager is awesome. She's the best manager we've ever had and we've rented from a lot of places over the years. When we moved into our apartment we had a list of minor things that needed to be fixed and she came over and fixed everything herself the very next day even on a weekend! She works really hard to take care of the building and it shows. Everyone here is very nice and friendly and I feel safe. We will be staying here a long time I'm sure!

I live here and have seen the newest manager, Janet, move the building from fair-at-best to a great place. She goes the extra mile and does a lot without being asked. This is a fairly expensive building, now that most of the units have been upgraded. Mine has hardwood floors, new cabinets, high ceilings - loft style, lots of light, yet I would have left if not for the care of her. There are now recycling bins, clean hallways, clean carpets in the halls, a cleaning woman, security is tighter, a new lobby and minor construction being done to make the common areas nicer. Its a good place and convenient to everything Hollywood -
