I was a resident at Hollywood Place Apartments for around 2.5 years and the large corporate ownership and mgmt there doesn't care about servicing its residents, it only cares about their profits. The rent is way over priced, and they try to screw their tenants for money any way they can. I witnessed it with other residents as well as myself. They harrassed another tenant about her small, quiet dog just because they wanted to find new sources of $ as their vacancy level was dropping. No other good reason. When I moved in, the marketing bait was no deposit and 1 month free - not worth it! They'll hike up your rent way the next year and after I had the carpet steam cleaned before I left, mgmt tried to send me a bill for carpet cleaning, disregarding normal wear and tear on the carpet and the steam cleaning job I had paid for. Then they put $1,100 on my father's credit report when he wasn't on the renewal lease. Not to mention, numerous cars were broken into when I lived there. And mgmt changes frequently.

I moved in about 6 months ago. I did all of the research on Hollywood Place before I moved in. I went with my better judgement and didn't listen to the views I saw regarding Hollywood Place. I loved the apartment and the mgmt was great. I am really glad I didn't listen to those other people because I love it here. My lease is about to expire -- and even after receiving a rent increase -- which wasn'thing like people on the reviews said it would be -- I am going to be renewing for another year.

This place sucks!!! when i moved in here it was great. Then the mgmt changed and the new managers are THE WORST!!! They started renting to large groups of kids who share apartments and hang around doing nothing but making noise and running around the place. You've got 2 elevators in the building and half the time at least one if not both are out of service. And, the building was recently remodeled and now looks like a drug treatment center. Stay FAR away from this place!!!

I moved to LA 3 years ago for a job and moved into Hollywood place because units were available immediately.

To date I have given these pathetic people:
$60,930.00!! YES YOU READ IT RIGHT! $60,930.00.

I am so busy and out of town often I have endured it but my lease just expired and they raised my rent over $200.00. I refuse to let them take advantage of me anymore.

Please read for my take on Hollywood Place after living there for 3 years:

1)Advertised as luxury apartments...There's absolutely nothing luxurious about this place, it's cheap and falling apart. The sign that says Newly Renovated was there when I moved in 3 years ago!

2)For the rent I pay I expect to be treated with dignity and kindness from the office staff...and I was up until I signed the lease.

3)Dogs and dog feces everywhere....in the elevators, the parking garage and the grounds. I have actually stepped in poop coming out of my 2500.00 a month apartment twice now and once when I stepped out of my car in the garage.

4)Security is a joke, I have personally witnessed the car next to mine with it's windows smashed out, cars have actually been stolen from the garage.

5)You will get this annoying bill it seems like every day from something called the utility billing service asking for 20.00 for...... utilities I still to this day have no idea what this is.

6)If you are as much as 2 days past due expect a strongly worded notice taped to your door demanding payment or get out.

My opinion on Hollywood Place and Stratus Real Estate is that they could care less about anything other than money. You've got plenty of properties within minutes of this building that are $300.00-$800.00 cheaper, many are much nicer.

don't wast a single moment of your time on this place, turn and run. Current residents, I suggest you move out, I sure as heck am.

I have been at Hollywood Place Aptments for 1 1/2 yrs. now and have been impressed with the facilities since the beginning. this place is clean, well kept, and quiet. The mgmt staff is courteous and legit. Maintainance calls have been answered in a timely manner. The interior of the apartments have been really nicely done. Parking is good here. The building location is convinient.

I've lived here for about six months and have few complaints about this complex. I wish it had a washer/dryer in the unit, but like another reviewer said, few places in this area have them, and they cost more. The owners just installed brand new machines in the laundry room with card readers, so that's a nice improvement. They've done a pretty nice job renovating this complex. It has a cool, modern vibe, especially in the lobby and outdoor areas. They definitely cut some corners in certain areas, and no one will mistake this for a new building, but it's not bad. The apartments have new appliances and countertops. The bathrooms are kind of basic and have cheap fixtures, but they look modern. There's a huge amount of closet space, even in my studio. One drawback to the studios is they don't have central air, just a wall unit, but it does the job. The staff is generally friendly and the residents are nice enough. Pulling in and out of the garage onto Hollywood Blvd. can be a challenge; people really fly down the street. While there's no "WOW" factor here for me, it really is a decent place to live.

I've lived in these apartments for a year... These are my complaints: The laundry room stinks like mold and half the machines don't work at any given time. All of the dryers have melted gum in them that gets on your clothes when they heat up. My car has been broken into twice in the "secured" & "monitored by camera" underground parking. I tried to file a complaint at with the Manager both times and was told someone will get back with me to fill out a report... surprise, no one does. The door to the parking garage is always propped open and anyone off the street can walk into the building when the gates open (and both gates open when you use your remote, regardless of which one you go into - so you can't watch to see if someone follows you in) Guests are always parking in the driveways or in assigned parking that isn't theirs... good luck trying to get the Manager to do something about it if it's not during office hours. The staff is ALWAYS on break or act put out if you ask for something when they are in the office. I've have packages refused, even though they say they offer the service of holding deliveries. After construction or painting starts (usually a few weeks after) we get a general notice taped to our doors that let us know construction / painting will take place (duh, thanks... I figured that out). They just painted the elevator and a wall in the lobby BRIGHT ORANGE! I pay a 3rd party for water, trash, sewer and other misc utilities plus a monthly service fee. When I ask for verification that they aren't marking things up they say they can't do that... this is usually $35 to $40 more a month for a small apartment! The front of my oven fell off in my "newly renovated" kitchen. I had to fix it myself - (it was a weekend). The showers are only big enough for people 5'5" and shorter! I signed a work authorization 7 months ago so that someone could clean the filter in my air conditioner / heater unit... No one ever has. I've cleaned it twice myself in the meantime. And finally, the South side of this place is settling so much that my door doesn't shut unless you slam your body into it!

I am a legit, who finds that every night without fail kids run all around the pool, and have band practice outside in the common area. This sometimes includes drums, always includes lots of drinking (and usually other drugs) and yelling until the early morning. I have complained a number of times, and only during the week (I mean, it's okay if it were only on the weekend), and have only been told to deal with it myself. Well, there's one of me and like 8 of them... you do the math. In addition, the manager has refused packages of mine and no one as ever responded to my requests for fixing the microwave or the showerhead. It's truly a non-responsive mgmt and way not worth the price apartments. Stay far away!!!
