“Pros: None at all Cons: Management is not responsive. Also the call center that I get when I call to contact maintenance lacks professionalism. I spoke with a lady name Jen who cursed and yelled at me. They are always cutting off the water. It's unsafe and unsanitary. When I call to tell them about it they do not help they argue. Advice to landlord: Train your staff at the call center to be professional and respectful. Also repair the things we put tickets in for”

“Full of roaches, if you call to management they’ll tell you that they can’t get rid of roaches!!! Trash us all over the neighborhood and of course it smells. You can see all kind of rats in parking area, do not dear and use laundry!!! Everyone is rats and roaches! Terrible management! O safety I feel that this is one of the worst buildings in NYC with one of the irresponsible staff!”

“Pros: None its just not worth the crazy high rent. Cons: Roaches, unbearable loud noise from the Highway, dirty building, smelly basement, super only wipes the first floor. Rent is crazy high. Advice to landlord: Lower the rent and make sure the super wipe all six floors not just the first one and also basement which smells like puke all the time.”

“Ive been living here at shore haven for the past 13 years, and since April I have been seeing great changes at the site. The maintenance staff really provides great service and the buildings are much cleaner.”

“This is the worst place to live in nyc dont make mistakes to get in staff is rude building is filthy dirty rats all over and when you call for maintenance they give you attitude they think you stay there for free no heat during winter had to call 311 every week hot water very often missing and you have a manager very rude not sure his name bald this is in cropsey ave brooklyn stay away from this place at any cost they increase you rent every year 150$”

“This place has turned into a terrible place to live, so once my lease is up I will be moving. I live on the first floor and there are mice in the incinerator room, so I complained to maintenance and I guess then put something there to kill the mice however they still have not removed the dead mice. The tenants just throw their garbage in the room and not down the shoot and just throw their uneaten food on the floor in the room. The worst part of it all was this past weekend my apartment was robbed and money was taken however nothing else. We filed a police report and we were told by the police another tenant was robbed on the same day and they took money and jewelry. There are no cameras only lazy security, that "patrol" the area, which is probably why they just made a quick steal. Today I will be contacting the office because I now feel unsafe. Do not live here pay more elsewhere!!!! NO STARS”

“These apartments are disgusting. After living here 5 years and seeming the Deterioration Of management and tenants I moved out. I rather pay extra than to deal with rude and ignorant people mostly middle easterners and their ill mannered children as well as management who doesn't really care about the hard working tenants This complex has. Changed hands several times and each time management has gotten worse Also when you called for an emergency you are provided with the wrong number and rude phone individuals The quality of this complex has decreased Drastically due to MANaGEMENT !!!! I don't anyone to live there unless they want body lice and roaches !!!!”

“The rats are In the garbage area you can't walk or park there at night you run the risk of being attacked by rats. There are roaches in the building if you don't have them don't open your windows your neighbors roaches will come visit and stay. ----------------------------------------- So they don't work and have broken into my apartment twice. Don't ask for a transfer that they promised because there were so call no one bedroom apartments when you move in but if you are an outsider on public assistance and -------------------- they get the best apartments. Once they are in the building if you are not ------ they harass you till you move out including destroying your car. Because they think the whole damn building has to belong to them. They don't like --------- they are criminals and violent. If you are a single -------- woman they will harass you on the premises and off. They have stalked me. It's 4 years I live here still waiting for a transfer out of a ------ building. All I have to say. The -------- don't bother me. If you are -------- be strong and ready to stand up to the crap otherwise you won't last. The lights don't work at night teenagers using drugs on the premises. Don't get a parking they destroy your car because the ------- have all the parking spaces if they live here or not. They control who gets apartments and who gets parking spaces. They are also taking over the area business wise. You can't find an -------- deli here. Maintenance in building is minimal. The elevators don't always work.”

“These apartments are a joke. Management is the careless people ever, there's bedbugs, roaches, mice n rats. People living here are no better either, they don't know how to dispose their garbage in a proper way. Wanna have headaches and wake up with a wonderful smell of trash n feces in the building. Rent here. The neighborhood is beautiful but sadly, these buildings aren't.”

“Ive never hated my life more than when I began living here. The Irish are nice here, the Italians too, the ------ are good in the building. But But But everyone knows your business....EVERYONE KNOWS YOUR BUSINESS, the door men all they do is talk talk talk, and the women by the benches talk talk talk and the neighbors selling weed to your kids talk talk talk, every day something new as they say, well don't be surprised to have no heat, no water, no elevator....and the doormen love white people jokes well its all smitty aint it, now i admit white people are arrogant, friendly, and seem like they want to repossess you, but the doormen...love making jokes about nationalities its like a pizza everyone gets to bite at the crackerhouse, especially the one a few steps away, can't miss, the best coffee guarantee you, if you want Italian mafiosos, Irish cops, Black and -------- speakeasies of the 1920's, and everyone knowing your name, then welcome to Apollo theater, where the jokes on you cause one day that weed dealer will call you boss and ask for five bucks, and you will just give it to him, then he will do it again, and you won't like it, cause its wag wag fantastic here, how about no shower once a month...Russians fault.. I am Russian, how about lay down do nothing about the building maintenance...they are all Spanish...I love all the earlier comments so i thought it would be fun to lay down the line....like the song, the 1950's jingle by that Native American...sorry Abboriginal crackhead. no suprise in this building its a big party all the time.”

“I lived here for 7 years and I have to say, it got worse every year. The only thing that kept me here for so long was the relatively cheap rent for the area. However, I'll gladly pay the current market value for another place rather than stay here any longer. The building itself has gotten dirtier over the years. New neighbors are moving in and are packing their one bedroom apartments with 5-8 people. I've heard nightmare stories from other neighbors of young kids urinating in the hallways because they can't wait any longer for long lines to their own bathrooms. Disgusting is not a sufficient word. What really broke the camel's back for me was the bed bugs. Apparently, management knew about the infestation and never told any of the tenants. When you call 311 to complain about it, they write you very hostile letters threatening to file a law suit if you don't let them into the apartment, at a time when it is only convenient for them, to assess the problem. Only problem is, after you take a day off of work to let them in, they never show up. Management, in general, are extremely rude. You can tell they hate their jobs and can care less about the people living there. I'm breaking my lease and I'm being told that I have to pay a big fee, despite my complaints. I will leave and never look back. Stay away at all costs.”

“31 YRS LIVING HERE AND EVER SINCE TRUMP SOLD IT TO THESE SLOBS THIS PLACE WENT FROM ELITE TO ECH!!! “I have lived here since 1998. The place has been under different management, but the recent management is the worst. Conditions are not kept up internally or externally. Yes, rats are here and big, but I have seen them on the outside. I keep my apartment very clean but do have occasional water bugs (3inch roaches)and have had a problem with mice. The people who have most recently moved in let their child run a muck on the lawn, so it stays dirty and I can understand maintenance's frustration. The lawn is not for frolicking, folks take your kids to the park around the corner. The quality of life here has dropped like the Down Jones in 2008. I want to move on, but there is the binding you to the lease that sucks. Pets are not allowed, but, don't give up yours because there are dogs everywhere, and no one cleans up behind them.”

“In my opinion, this place is a complete nightmare. Would not recommend it to anyone. Bed bugs, Roaches, and yes, even rats. Don't be fooled by the beautiful mowed lawns, closeness to coney island beach and outward appearance. It won't be long before you see bed bugs in mattress crevices waiting to feast on YOU. Oh, and don't bother calling 311- nothing gets done. Bensonhurst is a great neighborhood, safe, convenient, pretty much close to anything. But as far as shore haven apartments are concerned... I would stay far away if I were you. Maybe staying away Bensonhurst or( Bed-Bug-Hurst) in general wouldn't be such a bad idea either...”

“DO NOT RENT HERE BED BUG INFESTATIONS!!!!!!!This place was half decent when i moved in. It has changed hands in ownership and its become worse and worse. The place is a dump now, dirty buildings, mice, roaches and even worse bed bugs in most buildings, because no one wants to live here they are taking the worst of the worst. People who are filthy thats why there are bed bugs. The management SUCKS they have no manners and are mad at the world so they act NASTY to you. They never call back, if your lucky you can talk to them when they pick up 10% of the time at best.”

“I have lived in shore haven for YEARS! Yes, street parking is terrible because it is a huge complex and everyone has a car, but get on the waiting list for a garage spot like I did and you will have no complaints there. My apartment is NOT infested with roaches, bugs of mice because I keep my apartment up after myself and so do my neighbors. Also, there is an exterminator that comes by to service the buildings on a very regular basis. There is always heat and hot water and rin-apartment repairs are done in a timely matter if you make an appointment. It is true that the buildings are dingy in the common areas (halls, basements, etc.) but that is because tenants do not show these areas the same respect they have for the inside of their apartments (there is excuse for leaving trash in the halls and not picking up after your dog). That is not the fault of the maintenance workers of the management company, there needs to be some individual responsibility for the environment as well. Overall, the location is AMAZING (right off the water, close to all transportation and plenty of shopping), the neighborhood is really safe and the rent is affordable compared to the surrounding area. For those who siad that it is like living in the projects, I am positive that they have never been inside the projects themselves because it isn't the same at all. Shore Haven is not luxury living but it isn't the ------ that some others have described.”

“I am a resident of shore Haven for 32 years My Name is Norma Solivan 8861 20th ave apt 3G Bklyn NY 11214 Iam sending this email to inform the management and rental that I have seen the good, the bad and the worst and this is the worst. A great deal of cigarett butts all over the front lawn grass and it has worsened. People are smoking outside the premises of the front entrance and also smoking outside their windows and throwing boxes and remains of cigaretts out the windows. I am pleading with management to take some type of action and have notices mail to all tenants at shore haven and perhaps let them know if caught they will be fined. Something needs to be done about this problem asap. I am embarrased to invite friends and family over my home due to the filth. Many people question me if this are projects is very embarrasing. Im a concern tenant that enjoys living in a clean atmosphere. Please take time to check who are you renting too. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you. Norma Solivan”

“I live in Shore Haven apartments and I am not Russian. I have been living here for about six years. I have no roaches, mouse, or rats. because I kept my apartment clean. The heat and hot water are always on. Yes, the management office can give you a hard time but call after 6 and the 24 hour service is great. The people in my building are fine. The rent is good compare to other places that want a lot more. I feel you can live in the best apartments and have roaches, mouse, or rats if you don't clean. So who ever has roaches, mouse, or rats clean up or get out.”

“Don't even think of moving here its a rip off they get you in then when you realize that the place is a dump they hold you to the lease. Some tenants are animals and if you complain the onsite management retaliates against you for having the nerve to want to live in a clean noise free home. The main office never ever returns your calls let me repeat that the main office never ever returns your calls. If you want something fixed in your apartment they will make an appointment if you can get in touch with them and then not show up.”

“Jesus!!! The apartments are nightmare, there bunch of Russians liars who work in the management and Real Estate office. The apartments are infested with bugs,cockroaches and rats running all over. My GOD is that a sanitary conditions which people should live in? When you call management the managers are never there, you live a messages -no one ever get back to you, NEVER, you literally dont get any responce whatsoever. Sometimes I guess is this a SCAM or NYC Department of Health dont pay attention to this place at all? People DO yourself a favor: DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THIS MANAGEMENT.SPEND SOME TIME AND FIND AN APARTMENT WHERE YOU`LL BE HAPPY.”

“The 8861 20th ave apt building is becoming a ------ the are drugsin apts 2c and 4f. These people are loitering and the quality of life here is becoming hard to deal with. I think the people that are renting dont give a damn who they rent to as long as they get their commission and they dont understand the area is becoming a ------ and all the buildings are dirty with bedbugs and roaches all over the place. They should understand that a lot of this families are using other families for credit to be able to get this apts. Therefore, a lot of these people are not the ones applying for this apts. The Real Estate should manage this more careful and look into this matter and check this problem with drugs that we are facing before something drastic happens here. I lived here 32 yrs and the truth is starret city puts this place to shame and unfortunate is not a good feeling.”

“we have been living here since 3 years & believe me its one of the worst apartments.the management is simply inhuman & behave sarcastically with the tenants.there r roaches, mouses & you will never get parking in the garage cause some of the tenants have 3-4 parking spaces allotted & whatever reason you give to the management for any issue ,they have just one answer.:EVERYONE HAS AN ISSUES" DONT EVER THINK OF MOVING HERE...IT WILL BE THE WORST DECISION OF YOUR LIFE.”

“Maintence often leaves the basement door open. Some not all are lazy and do a half --- job of cleaning the buildings. We had a rat infestation and waterbugs and roaches run around the buildings. The sevice entrance smells and theirs graffiti. Some maintence have filthy mouths! Dirty Elvators and Hallways! Parking is miserable at night and if your a female its dangerous to walk around this complex at night! Solitary unsafe laundry rooms!”
