HPENY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT FUND COMPANY, INC. · avg 2.8 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Pros: - When they do respond, its pretty ok. - Older tenants are nice. Cons: • Rat infested. You hear them in the walls. • Building management appears overwhelmed. While staff are nice, the volume of challenging tenant issues has resulted in a consistently defensive approach. • The garbage compactor has been “out of service” for a few years. • Smoking frequently occurs in the hallways. Due to the age of the building, smoke travels into individual apartments, causing ongoing air quality concerns. • Noise disturbances are common. The building’s age offers little sound insulation, and tenants appear largely unresponsive to noise considerations. • The doorbell/intercom system is poorly maintained, making it difficult or impossible to see or ring tenants through the system. • The building superintendent demonstrates a consistently unprofessional and unapproachable demeanor. Advice to landlord: - Stop allowing anyone to move into the building.”

— 520 WILLIAMS AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 1A Pros: Close to trains, affordable rent Cons: Neighbor is the worst, management does not care and will rather drag their feet than be concerned for safety, block can be loud and always kids and guys in front of building.Pics uploaded are from neighbor having a beef with me and decided to leave ketchup, dog poop, and dressing in the front and by my entry way. Im soo glad to no longer reside there and wished I left sooner. Advice to landlord: Get rid of neighbor because she’s a menace and destructive, and actually listen to your tenants instead of being passive. Until then you will always have issues and a revolving door of tenants because no one should have to up with a neighbor who wants to incite violence all the time.”
