“Pros: - good area - no pests - washer/dryer in unit Cons: -you will go WEEKS of no heat/hot water and management will say they're fixing it, but don't do anything about it Advice to landlord: make sure your tenants have heat and hot water!!!!!”
— 194 AVENUE A · Manhattan“Unit 3 Pros: Wonderful roof. Very nice bathrooms Cons: Having a kitchenette for 4 people was not ideal. The living room was tiny as were all the bedrooms. Also received a pretty hefty rent increase at the end of the year which is why we left.”
— 505 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Super is very attentive and fast responding Lots of great light in bedrooms Updated kitchen and bathrooms Cons: No hot water for days at a time during the winter. Took management a while to actually resolve the issue. Smoke detectors removed and never replaced in some rooms. Leaking from ceiling in bathroom. Packages stolen from front door not fully shutting.”
— 196 AVENUE A · Manhattan“Pros: Stainless steel appliances Cons: Laundry did not work”
— 505 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 3 Pros: Good value Great location Cons: Cleanliness Noise kitchen dated Advice to landlord: keep it affordable.”
— 505 EAST 12 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Phenomenal location Private outdoor spaces for two of the units Cons: Poor heat management Radiators make extremely loud clanking sounds throughout the day during the winter Really low shower water pressure”
— 196 AVENUE A · Manhattan“Unit 1 Pros: The apartment had nice finishes and no pests. There was a washer/dryer in unit and a dishwasher, and all the kitchen appliances were stainless steel. The bathroom had modern finishes. I enjoyed the way the apartment looked. The super was pretty responsive for the most part. Cons: One of the bedrooms did not get good heat. But sometimes in the winter, the heat would get turned up so high that we needed to open the windows. While the super was responsive, if he needed to come to the apartment to fix something, he would claim he would be coming on a day but then wouldn’t actually come until weeks later. I first contacted him about our sink not working very well in November, and it finally got fixed in March. There was also no camera by the door, so we couldn’t tell who was trying to buzz in. Advice to landlord: To the super: when you say you are going to come on a certain day, you should come on that day, not weeks later. Also add a new intercom system with a camera.”
