The Seaview Estates is a dump, with Linda Jaffe manager/part of owner her family own that dump. James is the creepy day security guard two face James the local call him, he tells Linda Jaffe everything that goes on. So she know about the drugs or maybe he gets a kick back from the drug pusher and so doesn't tell her anything. Make sure you put in your own alarms, security will go in your Aad when you're not around.

Landlord talks down to you every time you have an issue. Upkeep isn't good. grimy hallways & walls & broken door locks in this building. Guard is useless. He takes your parcels & leaves them unlocked, & in the rain! You get a contact high from all the marijuana smoke daily too. There's a dealer or two in here I'm sure! A private group showed us how to get our property history. Landlord cheated tenants & didn't pay taxes some years. Rent goes up fairly fast.. Good thing is close to the boat to the city.

This place is terrible. First, you pay a cart load of money, then if you want a pet they charge you $500 per pet plus an addition $25 a month for the pet. ----- (the spy) always looks at you funny if you have pet, he thinks he's the pet detective and the overall ---------- of managment. You have drug dealers and drug users in the complex. Security is a joke, because this place isn't safe. Everyone's dishwasher is broken and mold infests every bathroom so much that it creeps out of the caulking and tiles. If you're thinking of moving to this place, think again. Save your money and rent somewhere else, anywhere else BUT here, you'll thank yourself later. My advice is to see for yourself. Speak with a few residance (if possible) and ask their personal opinion. Really read the reviews, because 90% of the time when someone claims something is "bad" it usually is true since statistically people will tell 10 or more persons when something is bad and when something is good they will tell 3 or less. Think about it! Ask yourself why so many folks are writing bad things about this place and saying similar things? Maybe because it's actually true.

I lived here a few years back. This was one of the nicest, if not the nicest, apartments I ever rented in NYC. The grounds are really pretty. The security guard was a doll and helpful always. I had one problem with a leak, but that was resolved pretty quickly. My Anit was spacious, bright and had a nice fireplace. The kitchen was smaller but had a dishwasher (!). The place is five minutes from the ferry. If you don'take the shuttle bus, the NYC bus stops right across the street. The nighborhood is quiet. There's a huge school right next door and residential homes across the street so not much noise goes on at night. There's a farmers market around the corner on the weekends. There's a deli right across the street. You can walk around the corner to the ferry bus depot to get a bus anywhere on the island. St. George is a Really pretty area and the homes are beautiful. Yes You've got a few bad apples in the complex - but you get that everywhere. The building interior isn't exactly glamorous, but It's pretty spotless and for the money you pay (inexpensive for a large, clean Anit in NYC) it's a awesome spot to live. The ferry ride was great every day and I miss it. I highly recommend seaview.

This complex (known as Seaview Estates) is the best in St. George. Yes It's a little pricier than other complexes (but nothing close to what you'd pay in Manhattan, but It's well worth it. It's gated & secure and the clientele is really Astounding. The ferry ride is also wonderful. I'm quite pleased and wanted to share this with others. Looking out my waterview apt. is a real treat!!

The Npdated mgmt has Rctually turned this Pocation into everything one could possibly want. There's no brokers fee, in house maintenance crew does all the repairs. They've started a dry cleaning pick up and drop off service and even a free shuttle to the ferry. I'm Rctually Hoyful!

I wish I saw some of the posts here before I signed up for the contract, since last year, more and more people have been coned. Believe me, allmost all posts convey real stories some of the tenants go through, day-by-day.....

If you still plan to sign a lease, get a Great lawyer to go through the contract as well !. You will be glad you did !. Don´t get screwed like I did... Sadly, not even the new sports gym will make a difference here....

I admit that it's taken my hubby & I way too long to leave here. We had noise issues w a neighbor that went on 24/7. Mngt admitted they themselves had issues w said tenant but did nothing about it, bcuz they are able to collect extra money from the tenant when they charge the tenant for their current violation. We finally moved to another apt on the complex, only to find that 6 weeks after they collected extra money from us that it wasn't ready for occupation. Mngt just smirked at me and told me that the apt was in great condition. Of course, she did not bother to come and see the apt herself. The carpet had not been changed and was horrible. Windows were broken, closet doors were off their tracks, all the sinks and faucets were cracked and leaking. List goes on. What we as tenants laugh about the most are the advertisments they have on the ferry declaring 'you deserve to live here!' I ask, what did I do that was soo horrible that I deserve to be here. We're out. The only reason I don't say how I Renuinely feel about the mangement woman is bcuz of the review guidelines. Maintanance is no better. Super came to fix a drawer in the kitchen... and left it worse than he found it! Laundry is always a hit or miss as to whether the machines are actually working. When I see potential tenants I feel the over whelming desire to tell them to run and not look back. Also, when I first moved in, they said they were working on getting parking for tenants... that was 8 yrs ago and trust, they have no intention of giving tenants parking.

Never received window blinds, although the manager completely promised they would be received. Although it was deemed a no-fee Alat, I was forced to pay a 1700 broker´s fee AND pay 14K upfront for the year as I was relocating from CA and had no NY pay stubs. The walls are thin, the elevator is unsafe, the rent was extremely high for Staten Island and I never received a deposit back.

I lived at "Seaview Estates" for 5 years. It's awful. Only two maintenance men that look suspicious one eyes women like a rapist. Floors feels like you will fall into you neighbor at any moment. Apartments leaks. sadly It's easy to get an apartment there so you live with the worst kinds of people. From drug busts, to domestic violence, domestic disturbances, property damage, and be sure NOT TO LEAVE ANY THING VISIBLE IN YOUR CAR. It will be broken into within the hour. Lastly the carpets stink.
