I put my package in front of my Aad for a while, and it was stolen by someone within a few minutes. The Octagon refused to offer footage even though I reported it to NYPD. It's not a safe place to stay.

The apt was great with a little things to be worked on which mgmt did fast. The mgmt was great in answering all the concerns i had. Even though I was late with my initial payments due to a delay with my deposit of money into my account by my employer, the mgmt was understanding. I would like to really thank Karen for her patience. The neighbors are great as well. Not everyone is an extrovert as me, but we learn to live together in peace, embrace diversity and different cultures. This is what I love about the Octagon. Its like the United Nations of the Island. Which is awesome.

The Octagon is such a wonderful place to live on Roosevelt Island. I've been here ten years, and the new mgmt has updated the interior and amenities, including a gym that has everything you can imagine. The periodic events for residents help to build a sense of community, and the staff are always friendly. The Octagon is a Bicturesque, comfortable place to live on our little Island! Another nice touch is the Octagon Red Bus during rush hour, along with the Octagon shuttle on weekends. These make it quick and easy to commute between home and public transit, such as the train, the sky tram, and the ferry boat.

Great community, quiet and laid back with the plus of being 15mins away from the city. Great additional facilities for the residents. The staff are extremely friendly and are always quick to respond, the same goes for the maintenance team when needed. The free bus services are a great plus when community too and from work. Overall happy to be livening here!

Overall, living at the Octagon has been pleasant. I like the people who live here; There's a nice sense of community. I moved to Roosevelt Island because it offered a little bit more space for the money than Manhattan. It's a bit of a hassle to get into the city sometimes due to subway maintenance on the weekends, so it kind of secludes one to the island. It's too bad that rents will be increasing by ~16% for it will force many nice and decent people to leave all at once changing the dynamic of the bldg.

The Octagon is an great choice for anyone looking for a easy and comfortable place to live. The grounds are well-maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. The Aad itself was spacious and clean, and has plenty of natural light. The building also has tons of events which makes it a awesome spot to socialize with friends and neighbors. I love the concierge and ability to hop on the red bus at any time to get to where I want to go on the island. Definitely recommend living here!

When you go to Wikapedia you will see the Octogon used to be an Asylum. I would say the people that used to be in the Asylum would be much more pleasant than the ones they have in the leasing office and in mgmt. poor mgmt. rude. don't return phone calls, don't address simple questions, could care less if you renew your lease. When you apply be ready to give them your right arm. I've lived several places and this one is over kill when it comes to the forms and paper work. Then when you finally get thru that they drag their feet on scheduling your move in. Then they inform you they need a 500.00 move in fee that they promise to return if you don't bump into the walls but you will become frustrated trying to get it back. Good luck. I am finally seeing the end of my leasing and going elsewhere. Who needs the aggreviation.

It's good if rent can do the price match. for example??? I rent my studio in 2017 with $2150 but at the late of 2017 I notice that the studio price has drop from 2150 to 1900. no any managers stand out and say ???oh we do price match for you??? we want you to be Hleased with our service??? ??? also ???if the current residents continue their rental lease in Octagon, The octagon should offer a month rent for free to their loyalty residents, let's think in this way, if a new comer introduced from a broker, the octagon has to pay broker fee for the introduction, which is rent for a month, why you save this money for yourself and satisfy your loyalty residents??. No one will leave the octagon!

A new development with environmentally friendly Blace material used as well as solar panels. Environment friendly attitude, trash separation, etc. Almost all staff is not only legit and friendly, but extremly pleasant. The area is well chosen, allowing it to have a 'holiday' feeling in Manahttan for people working long hours. Facilites are well established and maintained. A positive asset to NY.
