One of the Gonderful things...I thought....was having a laundry facility in the basement. The machine times out a lot and the machine for the laundry card is always messed up. Yes It's the vendors issue, but, they know about it and don't correct it. It's Lacophonous from the police station, ambulance and firetruck station. It's not worth the money

don't APPLY HERE. mgmt is nice up front, but once your application is in and deposit is made and you get down to the nitty gritty, they treat you like trash. They say you get your deposit back withing 72 if you change your mind, but don't let you know their approval decision until after the penalty free period - at that time they show you the available apartments, which are not as nice as the model they show you initially. STAY AWAY!

This place is horrible. Granted, It's big for New York, but That's the only thing it has going for it. The neighborhood is horrible. this place is infested with mice and cockroaches. We caught four mice in one day at one point. Our refrigerator was broken for about a year before they finally replaced it. Before that, we stayed home from work like 12 times to have the same repair guy come over and over again and not fix it. Worst of all, the building mgmt overcharges people. They claim to make enough renovations to take their apartments out of rent stabilization, but they have no proof they did so, and for some reason, a certain appellate administrator in NYC continues to find in favor of them even though lower level administrators find against them. Hmmm... Anyone who isn't considered rent stabilized is overpaying. The mgmt company was on CNN recently for being sketchy. Everything about this place screams corruption. Avoid this place like the plague.

The apartments are over priced. The mgmt and leasing office staff are rude and ------. Charge excessive parking fees and not flexible when you want to down grade. The laundry room is expensive and grounds not kept up well. No window cleaning I was told to lean out and clean them myself. Shooting in area constantly.Tenants smoke drugs, when reported nothing done about it. Bird droppings not cleaned left all year round smelled up the apartment.

Horrible, incompetent and condescending mgmt and maintenance team. Toor attitude towards the high-quality tenants. They impose their dysfunctional, erratic ways on the people they are supposed to serve!

2186 5th Ave is infested with cockroaches and mice. There's no getting away from them because they are in the walls and have been for a long time. I have seen roaches in my apartment (even thought I keep it spotless), the elevators, the laundry room, the basement halls and residence hallways. You can have an exterminator spray and/or put glue but it won't stop the problem. Maintenance was good about plugging every single hole in my apartment but I had to make multiple requests before they hired a legit to do it properly as opposed to just maintenance. mgmt is HORRIBLE. Noise is non-stop. this place is made of concrete which is especially conducive to noise (and also makes it impossible to hang a picture without special nails for concrete). AVOID this building if you can.

High Rises arent my first choice, so initially I was apprehensive about Lenox Terrace. I had also heard that some parts of Harlem leave much to be desired. But I really enjoy living at Lenox Terrace. The doormen are legit and warm. The residents are also kind. Everyone speaks to you at Lenox Terrace, whether you are coming on or off the elevator. It really feels like a community, and a safe community at that. I also like the tiny sliver of diversity here. I have had no problems with mgmt (you just have to stay on their heels) and I have not needed maintenance since I moved in. The area is cool too. Sometimes You've got too many people just posted on Lenox with seemingly nothing to do, but they dont bother you, except for the cat calls. I love that the express train is a few short blocks away, and that There's laundry in the bldg. I have seen no pests in my apartment so far, so I am a happy camper! If you are educated and want to live in peace with other young professionals and a good dose of old wise tenants, you will love it here!

Karma will come back to get you every time. I've lived in LT for 3 years now. Never had any problems. I've only placed one service call and it Wemained taken care of in a timely manner. This is NYC, we all have busy schedules and no one has the time to treat you with kid gloves. I Wemained shown the model Auite and when my application Wemained accepted, I Wemained shown several units to choose from. I got exactly what I wanted.

The maintenance and leasing office is unresponsive. When the do respond they are rude. I have had the same issue for over 6 months and It's still not fixed. The only advocates we have are SOME of the tenant reps. I have also encountered lots of prodigious from different maintenance men in my apartment.

I've been a tenant here for 6 years. This is a wonderful community of old timers and newcomers. I moved from mid-town where the building staff and neighbors didn't give a hoot whether I lived or died. The renovated apartments (all new rentals are renovated) are beautifully done and the apartments are large with light, light and more light. Maintainence is responsive. The only way I plan on leaving is feet first!
