I recently had a rather concerning experience during a tour with the assistant manager, Jessica. From the outset, the interaction felt impersonal.. she did not ask for my name, nor did she present the floor plan I specifically expressed interest in. I had clearly stated that I was looking for a unit that was 900 sq. ft. or larger, yet I was shown a 600 sq. ft. apartment, which did not align with my stated preferences. After the tour, I called back to request video tours of additional units. Jessica agreed to send them, but then unexpectedly commented, " I didn't know you worked at _____. " This caught me off guard, as I had not shared that information, and I am not from TX, so we are unlikely to have any mutual contacts. While I do work in property management, I did not believe it was necessary to disclose that during a standard tour. When I asked how she learned about my employer, her response was, " It's not hard to find things out. " I found this both vague and unsettling. She had not inquired about my profession or place of work during our conversation, so the fact that she obtained this information within minutes of my departure raises serious privacy concerns. What troubled me most was her tone when she asked, "Aside from the videos, is there anything I can do to help with your job?" The way this was said came across as condescending and insincere. As someone in the industry, I can recognize when a professional interaction lacks authenticity. I'm assuming she believed I was secretly shopping her? I'm not sure why she would ask me that. I also never received the videos I requested, despite waiting to see if they would be sent even after asking about 4 different times in person and during our call. Unfortunately, there seems to be no corporate office to which I can report this experience, so I thought a review would be best.

I lived here for two years, but wouldn't move back or recommend this building to anyone. It's definitely gone downhill. The south building has paper thin floors, walls and windows and you can hear every step your upstairs neighbor takes. The building was broken into and robbed one night and the loading dock is regularly left open all night. The manager, Lindsay, is incredibly rude and seems completely miserable at all times. The building offers incentives for positive reviews, so don't be fooled.

Lindsey is very rude and unprofessional. I listened to her talk down to, demean, and eventually dismiss a family member. Lindsey is not interested in helping find solutions to problems that arise in normal business situations. Ultimately, Lindsey became inflammatory and decided to insult a potential client bringing whatever situation she has in her personal life into her work attitude. Conversely Dawn was very polite and tries to find solutions. Again this was not an unusual business issue. If you intend to conduct business here, I highly recommend you stay away from Lindsey as it seems she is only interested in listening to her own voice and not representing her company in a professional way.

Without a doubt the best place to live in Houston! The Fairmount is top of the line for luxury living. The units are beautiful (all our guests are overly impressed), fantastic amenities, and the most perfect location (5 minutes from the Galleria, 5 from downtown, 5 from the museums). The staff is also angelic, they are all so friendly and helpful and genuinely care about the residents! The building has a dog park directly behind it, along with a normal park, splash pad, and baseball field. This is the best place if you're searching!

Nice complex in great location, very comfortable and upscale lifestyle (at least compared to previous apartments I've lived in). Living in the south building facing the road, you can hear road noise somewhat as well as some barely audible highway noise at night when it's quiet, but it's not a big deal. The complex feels very safe and secure and the crews do a good job of maintaining the place and keeping it running smoothly. The building is made up of young professionals, families and older folks and everyone is nice and respectful. The staff is ok, not exemplary nor terrible, but the level of service does not seem to match the quality/vibe of the building which is higher end. The biggest issue really is the staff's responsiveness to emails for some reason. In person or over the phone they're ok, but they may take days to respond to emails or not respond at all.

I've rented for over ten years in multiple complexes across multiple cities. Without a shadow of a doubt, Fairmont is the best place I've ever lived. When I relocated to Houston I admittedly didn't have a lot of time to research apartments/neighborhoods but Fairmont checked off all of my original 'must-haves' - gym, pool, basketball court nearby, covered parking, washing machines/dryers in unit, safe walking paths nearby, and a close proximity to nightlife in Houston. Those things alone sold me right away but since living here I've grown accustomed to even more creature comforts. They offer door-to-door dry cleaning service, a concierge service to sign-for and deliver your packages, a monthly calendar of events that'll include community mixers and fitness classes, and an office space that offers computers, fax machines, and coffee/tea. And I'd be remiss not to mention how quickly the maintenance staff responds to requests. I've never had an issue stretch longer than a 24 hour window. If/when I'm a homeowner I know my life won't be this comfortable and easy. I'll enjoy living here now and you should do the same.

Overall very good. Safe and secure. Public spaces are cleaned and maintained, for example I see the hard working maintenance guy clean the barbeques every week. Units are in good shape, freshly painted, and maintenance requests are almost always completed in a few days. Parking is secure, although there was a couple inches of flooding last spring on the lower level. Apparently this problem was fixed, but I don't keep my car down there anymore just in case. Security is well maintained, so I am not worried about the break-ins that occur at other buildings. The people who live here are great neighbors. The public spaces are rarely crowded, and people tend to clean up after themselves and respect others using the area. Some of the staff also live here, which is a good thing. They do a great job and want tenants to be happy. The only 4 star I gave is due to noise that I hear from the floor above me. I can hear them walk around very clearly, and play music/loud TV. If this was a problem in the bedroom, I would do something about it, but it is above the living room so it is manageable. The noise from courtyards is muffled by the fountains, so I love opening the doors and windows to hear the water. Makes it feel great even though we are in a busy city.

My husband and I have been living here for over a year and overall it has been a good experience. There is a nice mix of singles, young families and older folks ( like us) who live here. Our apartment has a great view of downtown, but also the not-so-great sounds of the fire station across the street. The management has added an extra layer of double insulated windows to help with the sound, but the view outweighs the loud sirens and we will probably renew our lease. The pools are relaxing and clean- my husband enjoys sunning at the big pool and we enjoy the intimacy of the smaller pool with our granddaughter. Other families with small kids like the smaller pool too, although most of the time we have it to ourselves! As the prices of apartments keep rising inside the loop, this is a good value. This is our fourth apartment in 6 years. The neighborhood surrounding the FMD complex is a comfortable mix of residential housing, parks, coffee shops, grocery stores and restaurants, and are all within walking distance. The management is laid-back but responsive. They plan fun events for the residents. The friendly folks who keep the common areas clean do a fantastic job and I hope they are paid well!!
