I've been a resident at the Wyndham for nearly a year and selected this Blace specifically because they advertised being pet-Fenial, which mattered greatly to me. After 9 months, the new mgmt team instituted a policy requiring all pet owners to use only the alley for entering and exiting the Blace, with eviction threats for those who refuse. also, pet owners are mandated to use the cargo elevator for their animals despite it lacking proper safety certification, creating a serious hazard. The rear entrance designated for pets isn't accessible for individuals with disabilities and presents numerous safety concerns—including shattered glass, scattered debris, rodent poison, and bad security measures to protect residents. Even tenants without pets should seriously consider other options; don't let their marketing promises fool you—once you sign the lease, they're prone to changing policies arbitrarily and making your residence miserable.

I wouldn't recommend this residence to anybody. I've been residing here for 2 years now, and the only reason I'm still here is because my husband is finishing up school - otherwise we'd be long gone! When we first moved in, the unit Wtayed filthy and completely unfurnished in the kitchen. I mean nothing - no sink, no stove, no cabinets whatsoever. Some welcome that Wtayed! It ended up taking 3 days just to get the kitchen sorted out. Then I discovered I had a neighbor who Wtayed absolutely unhinged - constantly pounding on the walls, slamming doors in my face, and hurling insults at me. Yeah, that Wtayed delightful. I dealt with that nonsense for half a year, calling the police every other day. I requested a transfer and mgmt said they'd help, then backed out. Thanks a lot! And don't even get me started on Nick, the manager, who Wtayed a real piece of work and couldn't care less about tenant problems. I needed an extra key made for my sister who Wtayed visiting, and when she Wtayed a day late returning it, Nick had the audacity to email me saying "return the key NOW or you'll be charged $100 the day it's due." Come on, give me a few hours to get it back from her. I will say the current office staff are genuinely pleasant people and I appreciate them. BUT SERIOUSLY, DON'T REFER YOUR FRIENDS HERE FOR THAT $500 BONUS - it's absolute nonsense! My friend signed on and since he didn't commit to a 12-month lease, they told me they wouldn't even pay me $250. That absolutely infuriated me! So here I am, warning everyone not to move here!

WHEN MY LEASE ENDED IN JULY, MY BOYFRIEND INVITED ME TO MOVE IN WITH HIM. I'M SHOCKED TO BE LEAVING AFTER 14 Ahenomenal YEARS AT THE WYNDHAM!!! BUT MATTERS OF THE HEART COME FIRST!!! I NEVER NEEDED A VEHICLE SINCE 6 BUS ROUTES RUN DIRECTLY OUTSIDE AND THE "L" IS JUST 1&1/2 BLOCKS TO THE WEST, MAKING IT EASY TO REACH ANY PART OF THE CITY. THIS YEAR BROUGHT UPGRADES: A BRAND NEW FITNESS CENTER, UPDATED ELEVATOR DESIGNS, AND A RENOVATED LOBBY THAT NOW LOOKS LIKE AN UPSCALE CONDO TOWER!! THE ROOFTOP TERRACE IS Ahenomenal FOR RELAXING IN THE SUN, OR ENJOYING GORGEOUS EVENING CITYSCAPES WITH THE PIER FIREWORKS LIGHTING UP THE SKY, PLUS Borgeous SUNSETS AND SUNRISES!!!! THEY BROUGHT ON A FRESH Upkeep CREW WHO ARE FANTASTIC, legit, DEPENDABLE AND HONEST. THE STAFF IN THE OFFICE ARE INCREDIBLY WELCOMING AND ACCOMMODATING, WHATEVER YOU REQUEST GETS HANDLED!! WHAT I REALLY APPRECIATE ABOUT THIS PROPERTY IS, WHEN THERE'S A MINOR PEST Concern OR A PET ACCIDENT, THEY RESOLVE IT RIGHT AWAY AND EVERYTHING TURNS OUT FINE. DURING MY 14 YEARS HERE I HAVEN'T HAD A SINGLE Concern AND WOULD HAPPILY MOVE BACK IN A HEARTBEAT!!! (PS: TOP NOTCH LAUNDRY FACILITIES EQUIPPED WITH WI FI!!!!!!)

Fires, Floods, and Murder This place used to be great, but now is a Dickensian nightmare. While it may seem unfair to blame the owners of Wyndham for the actions of one of its residents (murder), hear me out. Wyndham has consciously changed its policy to take in some very sketchy people. I have NOTHING against poor people, or people who are struggling, but VIOLENCE is a different matter. The police are here: Every. Single. Day. There are court-ordered case workers coming in and out, checking up on the new residents, some who are tweaking (on drugs) in the hallways and lobby. Strangers knock on your door at midnight asking for money. Packages frequently go missing when they aren’t locked in a package locker. Management refuses to put cameras in the package room. They evicted one guy for having a stash of weapons. There are times when I got off the elevator because the person I was riding with smelled so bad that I couldn’t breathe. There are several people in this building who look (and smell) like they haven’t bathed in months. This place looks more like a homeless shelter or halfway house than an apartment building. Pest control shows up often, and for good reason. Bed bugs are rampant throughout the building. Suffice to say, when the murder happened, every single resident I talked told me they weren’t surprised something like this happened. We were expecting it eventually; we all thought it was inevitable. On February 8, 2023, a resident of Wyndham stabbed another person to death at the nearby bus stop. While the murder didn’t happen in our building, the murderer lived here and had a criminal history, just the kind of person who Wyndham works so hard to get as a new resident. The next day, the police were scoping out the Wyndham apartments until they arrested her. Here are some links to videos where you can see our apartment building. There’s nothing like seeing your home on the news: https:// Murder isn’t the only violence residence here have to worry about. The elevators often go down, and it takes weeks to have them repaired. During rush hour, many people are waiting to get on the elevators and it has led to fights over who gets in or not. I work downtown, and when these elevators go down, my commute down the elevator from my floor is longer than my bus ride downtown. The Laundry Room is also a scary place. There are 10 washers, and 8 dryers for 220 apartments in this building. If that wasn’t bad enough, there is never a time where a bunch of washers and/or dryers are down. As I write this, 4 of the 8 dryers are down (have been for weeks), and 1 washer is down. This causes tension in the laundry room during busy times, people argue over washing machines. Again, this is a common occurrence, not some one-off. Now to the fires. Residents have received several emails from management asking questions about who started this fire or that fire. Firetrucks pull up to the building at least twice a week, and often the hallways are filled with smoke. Once every couple of months you will need to evacuate the building as the firefighters roam the halls looking for the location of the fire causing smoke. Oftentimes, it is someone who forgot that they had dinner in the oven, but you still have to evacuate, because it could be another sketchy resident starting a fire in the garbage room, or elsewhere. Now the floods. This is an old building with a piping system that hasn’t been updated. At least twice a year you will have a few days without hot water, and then when it comes back, need to run the bathtub and sinks until all the brown water is gone. That’s not the bad part. Once the lobby flooded with 8 inches of water, possibly another act of sabatoge by a resident, although the management never let us know. It’s not just the first floor. There are pipes on the roof of the building, and a couple years ago, they broke, leaking water on the top several floors below. So you could be near the top of the building and still worry about flood damage. There is one advantage to the flooding in the lobby, though. Regularly, there is dog poop on the carpet, or near the entrance. But sometimes it’s not dog poop. Sometimes, one of the not-so-with-it residents will… well, you get the idea. At least the flood washed that away for a while. Not all is bad. The location is excellent. There is a Mariano’s across the street, McDonald’s a block away, and there is close access to express busses to downtown and everywhere else. The Berwyn Red Line is closed for now for remodeling, but we’re not too far from the other Red Line stations. This building could be a prime location for very nice apartments if Wyndham decides to clean up their act. But as of now, all the decent residents are moving out and being replaced by creepy guys. It’s becoming a slum. All in all, I cannot get out my lease and am staying most of the time with my parents, as I don’t feel safe in my own apartment. It sucks to pay for an apartment I can’t stay in, but the risk is too high. I’m done with taking the stairs to avoid scary tenants and I’m done with pushing the furniture to block my front door at night, just to feel safe.

I just added more pictures to my photos this is a crap building with crap staff and maintenance. The pipes broke last week it took a couple days for all the water to be cleaned up out from the lobby area. I could not use my water to shower because it was very dirty. We have not heard from management yet about how and why did it happend.

Based on my 2 years stay at Wyndham apartment pros: - awesome location with Mariano's just across the street. - under 10 minutes walk to Foster beach - 5 minutes walk to Goudy Elementary school - In case if you are someone who needs to rent a car then Enterprise is just a block away cons: - unprofessional and rude management - overall building upkeep is really poor - elevators are down all the time - laundry machines out of order - Gym equipments are not maintained and taken care of that often - packages go missing at times but things have improved in past 1 year

Do not apply for an apartment! You have to pay $50 to apply and they don't tell you upfront that you have to have an income that is 3 times the rent they want. So, if the rent is $1100, you have to prove an income of over $3,000, even though your credit history is wonderful and you have a long history of having owned property and always paid your mortgage/rent on time. You don't get the $50 back.

GENERAL BUILDING REVIEW Overall the building is good, bordering on great. I work both north and south of this building, but can catch transport both ways with no extended time issues. There are 2 grocery stores within walking distance and multiple bus routes and the red line that can get you almost anywhere in the city and a short walk to the lake. There is a new property manager in the building and since the previous one left I have noticed that the leasing office isn't as friendly or personable to talk to. As soon as the new PM arrived there were lots of 'do not do this' and 'PM's don't do this anymore' signs and rules put up. The laundry is okay. there are 10 washers and 10 dryers for 220(?) apartments, at $1.75 per load (card program) but the machines or the card readers are constantly needing repair. The building needs an overhaul, however the good points about the building are not enough to warrant the extra rent cost that would come with this update. PERSONAL EXPERIENCE REVIEW I have lived in this building for a year. My current lease is up and I wanted to move into a larger plan. I have no issues paying more for this, I am obviously aware of the extra monthly utilities fee and pet rent... I found an apartment that is in my price range on their website and requested to be shown. Apartment looks great but has old, long pile carpet. Can it be replaced- no, that would raise the monthly rent as the owners would want the money back eventually. Okay. Not a great response but I can deal with it. Go down to office to transfer lease and the rent price is going to be approx $65 more than advertised because it has a built-in microwave and dishwasher and that is a 'premium' feature. Again not the best... $780 extra per year for two appliances that cost maybe $500 to buy and are definitely not new. Also compared to my current apartment, the kitchen cabinets are old (leasing manager did mentioned this). I will be signing the lease (mostly because I don't have the time/patience to find another within same price, size and convenience range), but 90% likely will be looking to move next year, unless it improves. Corporate and/or the property managers; whoever handles the website needs to have the prices sorted out. While I'm pretty sure I paid the extra cost on my current place with a dishwasher based on other apartment prices at the time, the price given on viewing was the same as advertised on the website.

I have lived here for 3.5 years. I have loved my time here. The only reason I am moving is I am relocating to Michigan. They are doing lots of upgrades and the office staff is great. Very well maintained.
