Management is very friendly and helpful. Goes out of their way to help you or just to have a conversation and get to know you. The maintenance people are very friendly as well. Things get fixed in a timely manner if not that day then the next day. It's a great location 2 blocks from the beach and lake shore trail. The buss stop is by the front door, there are buses that run express to downtown and train station 2 1/2 blocks away so it is easy to get downtown. The apartment is very nice with floor to ceiling windows and wood/tile floors. Also, it is very quiet. Can't hear neighbors unless in the hall. Overall very nice location and apartment.

It is the most practical apartment if you need to commute to downtown. There is a CTA bus stop right outside the building. The buses take to downtown in 20-30 minutes. Nice maintenance too. Have heard other neighboring apartments on the Sheridan road complaining about bed bugs and insects. Never faced them here. Bit over priced but it is OK. I have been living here since 1 year. The traffic has increased on the road as compared to last year making it a little more noisy. The building is old but nicely maintained. Laundry room is in the apartment only. But the machines are old and need some improvement. Room heaters are bit old and they got heated. You can not touch them if heating is on. If you have kids then you might want a safer heater.

Hi all, My name is Melissa and I used to live at the Wyndham for 1.5 year until my husband and I moved to Atlanta, GA in November 2010 for job relocation. We miss Chicago so much and we do miss leaving at the Wyndham. We never had any major issue while leaving there. Our apartment was in the 5th floor, very quite! Mike (leasing associate) was so helpful all the time, patient and very professional (and very cute!! :-) The fact that the grocery store is right across the street and the 147,146,151 bus as well was a HUGE advantage! The gym on the top floor is very nice and we did enjoy the free Wi-Fi upstairs and in the laundry room. I never felt unsafe in my apartment or in the building. If we have the chance to move back to Chi town, we would move back to the Wyndham for sure! The only thing we were kind of upset with was the whole dog policy change. When we moved there, dogs were allowed and then they changed it so we were not able to get a dog... I never had any spiders, cockroaches or bed bug in MY apartment. I saw 2 cockroaches at the entrance downstairs but I asked the management to kill them as soon as I saw it. I'm a bug freak! I'm mean extreme bug freak! I'm at the limit to be scared by butterflies and lady bugs, so trust me I would not live in any place that is bugs infested...I wanted to mention that because of the other post complaining about spiders...so don't get scared because of her post. I would recommend this place to anyone! Good luck in your apartment search. Melissa V.

The staff had to be the most unreliable in the industry. During my unfortunate stay my car was towed after I was given permission to park. I reported a gas leak 2x w/o it being investigated and finally had to call emergency after hours line and when maintenance arrived he was alarmed at the level of fumes in the apt. I was bitten by spiders that were coming in through holes in the wall. Maintenance was so slow to cover the holes I had to use packing tape. One bite sent me to the doctor. Maintenance would come in and leave grease stains on the carpet and bedding. Dogs pooped in the elevator and hallways. I found the only way to gets major issues addressed was to contact the holding company. I was glad when this nightmare was over.

My husband and I have been living at the Wyndham for almost 2 years and we enjoyed our stay here. We are relocating out of State; this is the reason for us to leave this place. The management is very friendly and always welcomes you with a smile. They also get all your package for you which is great! We had some issue with the hot water not being hot enough and the bike room but Mike made sure it was fix ASAP. Since then we had no issues. We lived on the 5th floor and it's very quiet. I never heard the people next door. Also, in the 2 years we lived here I never had any bugs in my apartment! I'm a bug freak and this was very important to me not to have bugs in my place. So this is a big plus for living here! My husband loves using the free Wi-Fi in the laundry facility as well as the multimedia space on the top floor. They have a guest apartment which is very neat when you have family coming in town. The gym of course is a great option that I wish I would have used more often my fault! They have a brand new Dominick s store that includes a Starbuck right across the street so that s awesome for grocery shopping! Especially during winter! If you have any questions, I would advise you to contact Mike at the leasing office, he has been a great help from the time we sign our lease until now. He will always try his best to make you happy. Overall, I will recommend this apartment to anyone looking a a good place to live with decent rent. If we are moving back to Chicago in the future I will totally come back here. Great place!

Have lived here for almost a full year and regretting not renewing. If only the location were more south, we would be staying longer. The management company has been more than great, very friendly people, who offered everything we needed including offering to help find us a sublease tenant if necessary. An unexpected pipe leak occurred and management immediately offered up the hospitality suite, a furnished apartment, for the few days it until maintenance fixed the problem. The maintenance team here is excellent, always on hand, even on weekends, for anything we need, from removing extra shelves in the closet to unclogging drains. The lobby was upgraded in the year we lived here, as well as the gym, and the building added wi-fi and a small office area for the residents. Our kitchen included remodeled cabinets and appliances, our although the building is old, nothing in the apartment felt old or used. We really enjoyed our year at Wyndham and would recommend the place to others, particularly those looking for a better landlord/management company that will take care of your needs right away.

I am new to the Edgewater neighborhood and have absolutely loved it so far. The main reason why I am so happy here is because I found the Wyndham Apartments. I wanted a place that would be clean, quiet, and safe, and I have found that here. I'm used to property managers being helpful and kind right up until you sign the lease, and then they tend to disappear if you have a concern or a maintenance request. That is definitely not the case here. Every concern I've had has been addressed immediately, and any maintenance needed has been taken care of within two days of the request. I have really enjoyed having on-site management and maintenance workers, because they work together to keep a watchful eye on the building (thus keeping it clean and safe). Another big plus for this building is the rent price. I assumed the Wyndham would be terribly overpriced because of its close proximity to the lake. I was ecstatic when I found that the rent prices at the Wyndham were not only reasonable, but downright cheap considering the location and the building's amenities. The park that leads to Foster Beach (without having to cross LSD) is less than a block from our front door, and the fitness center and rooftop patio are rarely crowded! I am so happy in this building that I've already signed another year-long lease, even though my current lease will still be in effect for several months.

I lived here for a transitional year and loved the building, people and neighborhood. The building has lots of character; my apartment was charming and had a splendid view of the lake. The management people were incredibly helpful and nice, maintenance requests were promptly responded to, and they were very flexible about my uncertain length of stay. Parking can be difficult, but isn't impossible. The building is a few blocks from Andersonville/Clark Street and it's 3 minutes to the lake. Easy access to Lake Shore Drive and express bus to downtown. All in all, I really loved living here!

It's too expensive. Repair requests will come up often -- the facilities are TOO old and will not be met unless you bug the very, very rude mechanic every day for a month or so (and he'll give you dirty looks while you do it!) $20 a month to have a pet? What? Plus they change the policy often without telling you. And, you can get a cheaper, better apartment nearby! The laundry units are also tiny and super expensive, so not very convenient. And, the majority of the machines in the fitness center never work and no one has ever fixed them while I've been here (over one year.) PLUS: ROACHES! Have tried so many things to get many of them; they'll never go away. It's simple: Don't even consider moving in; it's a terrible mistake.

Wyndham is incredibly overpriced. Before moving in, we were lied to on numerous accounts and when we got here it was pretty much one bad thing after another... Even though the neighborhood is nice and yes the lobby makes the place look a lot fancier than it is -- allwoing the rent to be so high -- the apartments are old and small. The water barely trickles out, the radiator does whatever it wants, and, in general, things just don't work very well. When you need something to be fixed, the person in charge of making sure these things happen is very rude and you will probably have to ask him five or more times before anything happens. I've been living here for over seven months and some things still haven't been fixed. And, they charge $20 a month per pet: absurd. Basically, you can live right nearby for a lot less and receive much better service.
