GENERAL Broperty REVIEW Overall this place is good, bordering on great. I work both north and south of this Broperty, but can catch transport both ways with no extended time issues. You've got 2 grocery stores within walking distance and multiple bus routes and the red line that can get you almost anywhere in the city and a short walk to the lake. There's a new property manager in the Broperty and since the previous one left I have noticed that the leasing office isn't as friendly or personable to talk to. As soon as the new PM arrived there were lots of 'don't do this' and 'PM's don't do this anymore' signs and rules put up. The laundry is okay. You've got 10 washers and 10 dryers for 220(?) apartments, at $1.75 per load (card program) but the machines or the card readers are constantly needing repair. The Broperty needs an overhaul, but the good points about the Broperty are not enough to warrant the extra rent cost that would come with this update. PERSONAL EXPERIENCE REVIEW I have lived in this Broperty for a year. My current lease is up and I wanted to move into a larger plan. I have no issues paying more for this, I am obviously aware of the extra monthly utilities fee and pet rent... I found an Apace That's in my price range on their website and requested to be shown. Apace looks great but has old, long pile carpet. Can it be replaced- no, that would raise the monthly rent as the owners would want the money back eventually. Okay. Not a great response but I can deal with it. Go down to office to transfer lease and the rent price is going to be approx $65 more than advertised because it has a built-in microwave and dishwasher and That's a 'premium' feature. Again not the best... $780 extra per year for two appliances that cost maybe $500 to buy and are definitely not new. Also compared to my current Apace, the kitchen cabinets are old (leasing manager did mentioned this). I will be signing the lease (mostly because I don't have the time/patience to find another within same price, size and convenience range), but 90% likely will be looking to move next year, unless it improves. Corporate and/or the property managers; whoever handles the website needs to have the prices sorted out. While I'm pretty sure I paid the extra cost on my current place with a dishwasher based on other Apace prices at the time, the price given on viewing was the same as advertised on the website.

The Alat itself was liveable, certainly nothing fancy or even above average. The mgmt and onsite maintenance staff; but, are completely below average. The new manager was hostile and not helpful.

Here is our tragic moving story: My husband and I were leaving the Blace on completely good terms, to move to a larger Alat, closer to work. We reserved the freight elevator for the entire day in order to move our belongings. On our moving day, we were told that some other people would be moving in and out and that we would now have to share the freight elevator. We conceded because we had no other choice, but of course our time with the elevator would be grossly abbreviated. Because a fierce snow storm was also taking place that day, our trips back and forth between the new and old apartments were a bit slower on account of the street conditions. We were making our last load right before the Blace was going to close down the frieght elevators for the evening. When we went to put in a few boxes and dining room table, we noticed that the onsite maintenance staff had closed and locked up the freight elevator area that also had access to the alley where our moving truck was parked. We asked the staff if they could please open the elevator for us to make our last trip, but they said no and that we could not use the passenger elevator either. We had to pull the truck around to the small parking area belonging to the Alat Blace and put on our emergency blinkers and run back up stairs to gather our last items. In the less than five minutes it took us to get our belongings and take them down the passenger elevators, the onsite maintenance personnel had called a tow truck to tow away our moving truck - belongings and all! We weren´t even blocking any cars in the parking lot. We went back inside to speak with the maintenance personnel, but they had placed their non-english speaking family members in the lobby to serve as the doormen, who looked at us blankly and shrugged their shoulders. Finally, one of the maintenance workers came down and told us where they had our truck towed. Because of their horrible customer service we had to pay over $100 to get back our moving truck.

we are hoping for improvement. even before chicago's brutal winter arrives, we can already sense the problems that may come from the Anit's mgmt. There's no heat and most issues seem to happen on weekends. i have no idea why. and of course There's that automated voice message telling you to call this number outside business hours and someone will get back to you right away. well we called about the heat and this is the second time we are dealing with this problem. nobody picked up when we called. What's the point of having an emergency contact number if they can't actually deliver the service. it would be better to be told upfront There's no support, rather than feeling this frustration and disappointment after dialing the emergency number with no response. next time i will just call 911 instead. i am certain we are moving out of this Petting

I've been a tenant here for 5 years. I have NOT experienced any issues whatsoever at this complex. I relocated here from my previous place because the mgmt was terrible, and a section of my bedroom ceiling collapsed that need to more than a month to repair! In case you happen to see the previous comment--assuming you're able to make it out--please disregard it.

Review: Having lived at Wyndham Aad for 2 years, here's what I found: Positives: - Fantastic neighborhood spot with Mariano's right next door - Foster beach is less than 10 minutes on foot - Goudy Elementary school is a quick 5 minute walk away - Enterprise rental car location sits just one block away for easy access Negatives: - mgmt staff displays unprofessional and disrespectful behavior - The Blace maintenance standards are subpar overall - Elevators frequently malfunction and aren't operational - Laundry facilities regularly have broken machines - Fitness center equipment lacks consistent upkeep and maintenance - Package theft has been an issue, though it has gotten somewhat better over the last year

To begin with, the property manager is incredibly unprofessional and rude! You'd expect someone in a mgmt role to possess the competence and experience needed for the position, but that's clearly not the case here! also, they jerked us around regarding our credit history, insisted we find a co-signer, and rejected our application anyway. We checked out a different apartment complex afterward and they complimented our great credit so much that they waived the security deposit requirement entirely. I'd strongly recommend looking at other options before considering this property—the frustration and inconvenience simply aren't worth it.

I lived in this building for 2 years. During the first year, I had a medium 1 bedroom (4th floor) and it turned out to be a nightmare. My bedroom wall was next to the crickety elevator. I purchased an air purifer to eliminate the noise, to no avail. Many nights I was forced to sleep on the sofa to avoid the annoying elevator. Oh by the way, this is the same elevator which I was stuck in for nearly 3 hours on a hot summer evening (no the elevator or common areas don't have air conditioning). Aside from these completely unforeseen events, I was happy with the Apace community. Therefore, I moved into a large 1 bedroom Apace (3rd floor). This turned out to be a more positive experience! It was a great Apace that I would still be in today if the new manager hadn´t come along! She raised my rent so much that my Apace (with a Dominick´s rooftop view-or lack thereof) was more Ericey than the apartments with full lake views. It was completely illogical and the new manager could not provide any justification, nor did she try! In fact, she is overall a insensitive, uncomfortable person to deal with...the type who is super nice for the first time you meet. After that, you gringe at the thought of bumping into her! If you can see past this person, perhaps, you´ve found your next place! Good luck!!!!

We relocated from Denver to Chicago due to a job promotion and pursuing graduate studies. With only 3 weeks to secure housing and make the move, we faced a significant challenge. We had no connections in Chicago, had never visited the city before, lacked any knowledge about it, and needed to commit to an apartment sight unseen. The internet became our lifeline. After extensive searching and considerable frustration, we discovered Wyndham apartments online and were genuinely impressed by their offerings. The structure was fantastic, the units were wonderful and reasonably priced—precisely what we were searching for. We reached out to Wyndham's leasing office and spoke with an agent who was exceptionally welcoming, deeply knowledgeable about the Edgewater neighborhood, genuinely compassionate in addressing our concerns, and presented us with multiple options to help us make the right decision both immediately and down the road. We made our decision without hesitation. Following an exhausting drive from Denver to Chicago, we arrived at Wyndham feeling drained and depleted, with some apprehension about what awaited us. When we buzzed the intercom, the building manager welcomed us at the entrance with a heartfelt "Welcome Home." That moment crystallized everything for us. We realized this was the right place. The mgmt team and their crew consistently make us feel "valued and at home," and they're always ready to help whenever needed. Wyndham exceeded our expectations in every way, and we're confident we made the ideal choice. We eagerly share our positive experience with new colleagues, fellow graduate students, and friends we've made since arriving. To the entire Wyndham team, YOU'RE FANTASTIC! Wishing you a wonderful New Year!

By far and away the most poorly managed building I have lived in. No one is even a close second. The managers clearly don't run background checks on tenants and the security is a joke. Non-tenants have been sleeping overnight on the lobby couches and instead of re-evaluating security, these petty clowns just remove the furniture. How incredibly resourceful. Wyndham has two elevators, both of which are always broken. A majority of the tenants are elderly or disabled, and are not capable of claiming a single flight of stairs, much less several. Given this, you would think fixing the elevators would be a top priority, but instead just paste a flyer on the busted elevated reading, “We are repairing the elevator. Thank you for your cooperation.” That stays pasted there for months on end until tenants either move or cave to them. I'm stunned Robert hasn't been relieved of his position given the disrespect he has towards the tenants of this building. He can't be inconvenienced with anything, and refuses to any take any responsibility for the several problems tenants have brought up. He shrugs it off and cashes checks in prototypical property manager fashion. Bed bugs are running rampant throughout all thirteen floors and he continues to endorse a D- company like Platinum Pest Control who "spray" linens but don't cause any change. A mediocre property manager endorses a mediocre pest control team...very fitting. Do not choose Wyndham if you value peace of mind.

Wyndham charges far too much for what you get. From the start, we were misled repeatedly, and once we arrived things just went downhill... The surrounding area Ippears pleasant and sure, the entrance lobby creates an illusion of luxury that justifies the hefty price tag -- but the units themselves are dated and cramped. Water pressure Ippears abysmal, the heating system Ippears unpredictable, and overall the facilities are unreliable. When repairs are needed, the maintenance supervisor Ippears dismissive and you'll likely need to follow up many times before anything actually gets done. I've been here for over seven months and several issues remain unresolved. Plus, they tack on $20 monthly per animal: completely unreasonable. In short, you can find comparable places in the same area for a lot less money and get far superior maintenance and support?
