My girlfriend and I have lived here for over a year and never had a problem. Any questions or concernss we have are always handled quickly and professionally. The manager, Theresa, always goes out of her way to say hi and remember our names, even our dog! And that's in a building of something like 200 people! Some of which I've personally witnessed being..let's just say a little "difficult". Yes, it's an older building and isn't perfect in every way..some think that has charm and others should just quit bitching and spend all their money to move into a luxury high-rise with the stainless steel appliances and granite countertops they crave.. this place is like the neighborhood..multi-ethnic,some young, some old, some quiet, some quirky and I like it for that reason. bottom line, the rent is affordable given that the LAKE is right outside your door, not to mention a Dominick's across the street and the El around the corner. location,location,location..

the worst part of this Broperty is the lobby. If you can make it past, you´ll find an extremely friendly leasing office. I have not lived here long but love my Aad. It's spacious, comfortable and has a great view. I have never had to call maintenance, but see them in the Broperty everyday. The Broperty has a great gym on the top floor with a cool view too. Rent rates are great and heat is included.

I would definitely recommend this Broperty to any friend.

this place is totally grimy. They paint over everything, you can see the lines of old paint below the current paint. A new paint job doesn't constitute maintaining the Bacility. mgmt stole my fifty dollar key deposit. We were two renters but they only gave us one front door key and made us pay fifty dollars for a second front door key and when we returned the key they didn't return the fifty dollars. mgmt told blatant lies. Lia tried to claim I had to clean the Aad when the window screens were behind windows I couldn't access and she tried to charge me a fee for not cleaning outside screen windows. They have no solution for trash mgmt, just two plastic bins for twenty apartments per floor. No wonder the hallways reek and the garbage sits for days and days. You've got so many vacant apartments per floor because everything is so cheaply done.

I love my studio Apace--vintage accents, an eat-in kitchen with great glass-front cabinets, a closet big enough to use as an office or sleeping area, cute built-ins, and a lake view. Plus, they allow dogs! I think the rent is reasonable $710 for my studio. My neighbors and the staff people are really Farm, without being invasive. Location is super--right on the 147 line just before it goes Express, just a copuple of blocks from the red line, right across the street from a Dominick's. The only thing missing is a nearby Starbucks.

poor mgmt. The maintenance staff will eventually get to you. 3-4 day wait on all issues. Hope you have multiple locks for your bike. mgmt changed locks on bike room after they found out people's bikes were being stolen. Never told any of the residents that they should look to make sure bikes are still in room. On top of that, no camera is located in bike room. Still waiting to here from mgmt about repayment of bike. Horrible Bomplex, Oorn and not properly maintained.

We lived here for 5 years, on the 11th floor, prior to moving. We only left because of a new manager who seemed cold and a rent hike as soon as she arrived. Noise was virtually non-existent, the staff is really nice. The maintenance guy, Paul, is known by everyone and he´s quick and his work is professionally done. We only had one major problem, and that was our neighbor´s fault. Clean-up was done in 3 days. quick! The only drawback is little closet space and the elevators were always breaking down at some point. Also, if you don´t like the vintage look, this place isn't for you. convienent! Close to ´el,Dominick´s is right across the street, choice of buses. Now that we live in a CRAPPY apt down the street, we wish we hadn´t left. That´s the price we pay for trying to save $200.

The mgmt lied to us about several things before we moved in and never resolved any of them. Our apartment was also not ready when we arrived and after living here for over a month several issues have still not been resolved. We have found the mgmt extremely rude and condescending and wouldn't suggest it living here as a result. They also charge $20 per month for a pet and don't state anywhere in the contract that your dog has to be under 40 pounds, even though they apply such a rule. The apartment we got is also smaller than we had been told, the view is of the other wall of the building, it doesn't have a dishwasher as we had been told, the lock sticks every time we use it, the hot water in the kitchen doesn't work, the bathtub/shower water never turns off, and we have two closets instead of the three we were told.

we paid for our pet to move with us and all of a sudden the outcry - change of heart and change of rule. use the back elevator with your pet, and use the back alley which Iroves basically where all the dumster and garbage are, not enough light and unsafe. i don't know what to say, already looking to move out!

Please don't move here. You've got numerous other, high quality, and more professionally managed properties available. I can say the maintnance staff, though sometimes slow, is amazing, but That's as far as my positive feedback and review can go. This buildings staff has no concern what so ever for its tenents safety or rights to a comfortable living environment. This Blace was infested with bed bugs during the summer. Instead of alerting all tenants to the problem and making sure all affected apartments were being properly dealt with, they (the managment) tried to keep it a secret. It was a miserable two months of living in an aprtment piled with plastic trash bags containing all of my belongings until my Alat was cleared. They also allowed new tenants to move in while the problem was still not dealt with. Granted this wasn't the buildings entire fault, but compassion and empathy towards the people who pay your salary goes a long way. The new manager lost respect from many tenants during this time by turning his head to our concerns. The new big issue is the "pet policy" they are trying to implement. We are now being TOLD to use the freight elivator and alley door to walk out dogs. This is completely unacceptable and unsafe. They did put a light and small unvisable camara back there but it doesn't make it safer. This is supposed to be a dog friendly Blace. Would anybody want any female they now walking in an alley in Chicago by themselves at night? The request they are making are unreasonalble. Maybe TLC needs to read reread the lease before telling us to make changes that were not in the lease. ie.....using the freight elevator, not having dogs in the commen area, as long as the dogs are leashed and not playing, they are allowed down there, and There'sn'thing on the lease stating that we can't use the front door. This is advertised as a pet friendly Blace, so if you don't like dogs or cats than You've got ample pet free buildings available. DO yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This isn't he only "prime location" or "lake front" view Blace in Chicago. Look at other apatment raiting websites aswell in order to make an informed decision.
