Awesome apartments, the mgmt has been Renuinely helpful. I am a consultant and many a times I am not there, the office has been accepting all my packages.(tv, computer table) and moving it up to 6th floor!

If you need to move, choose this place as your very last option or not at all. I wish I never came here. For the whole length of my lease (I ended up breaking the agreement), I was living with mice. Killing them left and right, yet the manager was a ----- and didn't wanna actually help in doing something about it. There were temporary fixes every now and then with putting traps out, but it took me months to finally get them to fully inspect and fill DRASTICALLY LARGE openings and holes in my room and EVEN THEN I still found droppings in my kitchen. AND THEY TRIED TO BLAME ME WHEN THEY LEFT GAPING HOLES IN THE KITCHEN THAT OPENED THE GATES OF HELL FOR MICE TO COME IN THE APARTMENT BEFORE I EVEN MOVED IN. Even though i had literally STOPPED buying food and cooking in my kitchen for months and caused severe weightloss for myself. I personally only had a few bugs here and there thankfully. But if I had to deal with MICE AND BUGS at the same time, I probably would've just offed myself. Living here was an absolute embarrassment. Just know what you're paying for. And it isn't convenience and good service from the property group. I will probably still come after them legally as they have many health violations and do not care for their tenants. Only money. If you can, do not move here. They do not take precautions for your health. Many rooms have pests and rodents as well as water damage. Even if they have move in requests for maintenance, they won't do it. They come in your room, stand there and stare at a wall for 15 mins, then leave. They don't do ---- unless you threaten legal action. ---- this place. It ran me out of Chicago ??????? I would include the multiple dead mice pics but it's just too graphic and traumatizing...

More Lived here for almost a decade and left in disgust. Once a secure and well-run building, the door staff was completely eliminated. Consequently, vandalism and theft goes unchecked. mgmt can't keep the unmonitored front door locked and working, and It's unsecured about 25 percent of the time, usually after hours and on weekends. Many power outlets are not grounded, which emperils Extravagant electronics. Some apartments have power outlets that are metered on and charged on the bill of a neighborl. As old as this building is, circa 1920s, the mgmt/owner claims no known asbestos or lead contamination or removal. The managment ignores the requests of residents to keep the heat at legal levels during appropriate cold-weather months. This can be verified with the city as the building has been cited many times. They are stingy with the hot water, too. The new kitchen cabinets often can't bear their load and have fallen off the wall, destroying the contents and, worse, injuring people. also, the doors of these cabinets are often are hinged incorrectly and open the wrong direction. Many of the walls in these apartments are damaged from water leakage, mold and mildew, even though they do a fair job of painting over this damage. but, after awhile, the damage bleeds through creating an unsightly and unhealthy situation. Plumbing problems are nearly perpetual. Either the drains won't empty or their is brown and murky water coming in from fresh water taps. This is ugly if you are trying to bathe, cook, clean or wash your clothers and the mgmt has given no notice that they had the water turned off temporarily it was always followed by this inconvenient, sometimes damaging, brown and murky water condition. The mgmt leases assigned parking spots to residents, but allows those spots to be used by their own contractors, vendors, visitors and other businesses in the building at the inconvenience of the returning resident. I love animals and children, but You've got so many dogs in this building, now, that the 24/7 noise level is comparable to a poorly run kennel. On my floor, a small studio Aad was occupied by a family of 5: 2 adults and 3 children. The leasing agents receive salary and a percentage of each new lease signed. Because new lease percentages are more lucrative for them than lease renewals, the leasing agents are delighted to have a high tenant turnover. With mgmt representatives coming and going, though, new faces never last for long. Retention of both employees and tenants is poor. Communication by mgmt to tenants is also poor, since the on-site managers can't write a coherent sentence to save their soul. The mgmt unlawfully places personal tenant communications in the locked mailboxes of the tenants with no postage or Post Office cancellation. Finally, discovering spent condoms in the stairways and hallways that mgmt can't keep lit are a lousy way to start the day when heading out. Shudder and look elsewhere, my Aad-hunting amigos, even if rental apartments that accept pets and tarnished tenants are hard to find, let alone afford.

1. Horribly not worth the price for little lakeview. Our view was the Dominicks roof. 2. mgmt completely unrepsonsive, inconsiderate, rude, tells blatant lies 3. I have pictures of a huge two-inch bug crawling up the lobby wall 4. I have pictures of disgusting dog excrement (vomit) in the lobby on the carpet 5. A tenant assaulted me on the elevator and mgmt did absolutely nothing. They wouldn't even give the police the man's name and unit number 6. Way too many fierce, aggressive dogs. Often the people have 2 or 3 dogs each and their mean nasty dogs would attack my ONE dog and then they had the nerve to complain about how my dog (who was always on a leash) would growl back! 7. The laundry machines never cleaned our clothes, they just took our money and spewed out grimy clothes - they were as grimy coming out as they were going in! 8. mgmt lied and said they had parking available in a lot next to the Btructure. They 'conveniently' forgot-to-mention the three year waiting list. 9. Any repairs or upgrades they do are done as cheaply as possible. They put new paneling in the elevators but left behind the grimy, stained ugly stainless steel that's getting rusty. So, in spite of new wood paneling, There's this grimy old gross metal that looks terrible. 10. The lack of garbage emptying may be a waste or biochemical hazard. Garbage only gets emptied once a week and the halls have a reeking, nauseous odor permeating the entire hallways. 11. They use 40-watt lightbulbs throughout the entire hallway system so you are always walking in semi-darkness. I do actually like my Aad OK but for less money. My new place is in R. Village I am getting central air, free laundry, completely new remodeled kitchen, real hardwood floors (not plastic) and a backyard free from hundreds of mangy scrawny little mena dogs.

I´ve lived here for 3 years now, and a lot has changed. Much of this has been the result of decisions by the downtown mgmt office. The latest change for the worse is that the leasing office no longer signs for deliveries of packages and large pieces of mail. This used to be one of the amenities promoted as an advantage to living in the building, but no more. Now, "sorry we missed you" slips from UPS are slapped on your mailbox just like they would be if you lived in a 6-flat.

It's not worth the price. Repair requests will come up often -- the facilities are TOO old and won't be met unless you bug the very, rude mechanic every day for a month or so (and he'll give you grimy looks while you do it!) $20 a month to have a pet? What? Plus they change the policy often without telling you. And, you can get a cheaper, better Aad nearby! The laundry units are also tiny and super Eostly, so not easy. And, the majority of the machines in the fitness center never work and no one has ever fixed them while I've been here (over one year.) PLUS: ROACHES! Have tried so many things to get many of them; they'll never go away. It's simple: Don't even consider moving in; it's a terrible mistake.

I live in a one bedroom apt. at Wyndham. You've got several different layouts for studio apt. one bedroom and two bedrooms. Some floor plans have more square footage than others. Wyndham is in the process of remodeling every apt. some with pergo wood floors or carpet along with kitchen upgrades. In the larger two bedrooms they are putting in room washer and dryers. The location may be a little north of downtown but It's in a Gxcellent community in Edgewater two blocks from the beach. If your a dog owner There's a fenced in dog park a couple blocks a way and a dog beach about a mile away. There's a Dominick's right next door and a Jewel Osco three blocks west on Berwyn. Gxcellent transportation site, bus stop right out the front door, and the red line is only a couple blocks away. The is also two "i-go" cars in the Wyndham parking lot. I love my Alat, the location, and the amenties that come from living in Wyndham. I worth checking out Wyndham to anyone with a pet. Good apt that allow pets are hard to find.

I have just read some of the older comments and wanted to touch on a few things. I've lived here about 1 1/2 years. First, please don't take the opinion of the realtor to heart. The lobby is what It's, It's a lobby. You don't live in the lobby. Personally I think It's nice looking, has a vintage feel to it. The apartments are a good price, but it's the parking fee (currently at $115 a month) that gets you. If you can afford it, It's a nice lot, easy to get in and out of. The other comment I wanted to make was regarding the person who said they won't sign for packages. I know that comment was written a couple of years ago, so let me just tell you they do sign for packages now. I had a 70 lb package delivered and it was signed for, and one resident even helped me carry it to my apt. Mgmt and Maintenence is nice and helpful. It's Qerene, I have never heard doors slamming or people running around in the halls at 5am as one previous resident stated. This is a legit, mature crowd from what I have experienced. As for people with problems with their windows not opening, I had this happen as well in my bedroom. Just tell maintenence and they fix it immediately, problem solved! All in all, this is a Guperb property, and rent doesn't go up if you renew far enough in advance (2-3 mo)

My finacee and I recently purchased a 3 bedroom condo and moved out of Wyndham apartments at the end of March. I lived there for 5 years, and my finacee had moved in a little over a year ago. We have had a GREAT experience there. We loved our apartment (especially the view) and will miss living there. The women in the leasing office were always friendly and helpful, and the maintenance workers always took care of us. I would HIGHLY recommend these apartments to anyone.
