My wife and I rented for a bit over two years here. For the first year, everything was pretty much okay. There were some small issues that we reported but that didn't get solved, including some workers breaking a cable outlet on the wall when doing window replacement and the tile glue on the kitchen floor losing its stickiness over time. Since these weren't critical to us, we didn't mind to much. We just reported so that we wouldn't be blamed for them. The Apace had two particular bug problems the entire two years we were there. One was little ants. this place is quite aware of it and just asks you to report them. Between that and Windex, they were pretty controllable. It sucks, but for us, we'd only see an occasional one or two. The other one is spiders. You've got lots of spiders on the Windows outside in the summer. Not their fault! Just sort of annoying. What's their fault though was an infestation of spiders around the doors and hallway leading to the dog walking deck. This was inside the building, and during the first year we were there, it was absolutely disgusting. It took forever for someone to clean up this area, which should never had gotten as bad as it did. The doors to the outside seemed to seal fine, and even if they didn't, a little spraying would have kept the spider party away! We kept the place extremely clean. Going into the second year we were living there, we were spending a lot of time in NY, and so we had actually had the place cleaned and emptied it out of all food before departing for long periods (a couple months at a time). Upon returning, we'd find an occasional roach or two wandering around the Apace. We reported it, they came and treated. Then it got worse. We'd leave again, come back, find some dead ones around. Finally, the worst was when we left for around three months, asked for pest treatment before leaving (the Apace still has no food in it, and gets much spotless), and came back to find not only that roaches had hatched eggs in the closet, but that there were what appeared to be rodent droppings in one of the closet. This time, pest control came with maintenance and took a look at everything. They confirmed that roaches had hatched, and so they scheduled more treatments, but didn't agree that the rodent droppings were in fact rodent droppings. I'm no expert, but I'm not really sure what else they would have been. There was a pile of them in the corner of an otherwise empty closet, and behind the microwave oven in the kitchen. When we complained about the bugs, the response we usually got was that they believe some of our neighbors are not keeping their apartments clean. Now we didn't know our neighbors too well in the second year we were there because we were traveling so much, but I just find it to be a bad business practice to blame something That's happening on your other customers. I think in our case, they sadly couldn't blame us for it because we really had the place kept spotless while we were gone, so they had to blame the people living around us. I was quite glad to move out of there and move into a bug free, clean place, but even then it was quite a painful move as we had to choose to part with some things we no longer trusted (were afraid of eggs) and we had to carefully quarantine and bomb other things during our moving process to make sure we didn't bring any old neighbors with us. The building and apartments are beautiful, and I think in the first year we were there, I would have recommended these lovely apartments. But because of the way the bug situation changed over the time we were there, I would no longer recommend living here.

I love living here. The staff is amazing and always answers my questions. I use to live at another property and with a different mgmt company and this is a world of difference. I have lived here for almost two years and will be renewing my lease for another year.

We had a wonderful experience moving in - it was easy and quick! Now as residents, we enjoy the beautiful views from our Aad and the outdoor deck. We are so thankful for the many ways our Aad building is helping create a community even with the challenges of COVID. We feel welcomed and comfortable and safe!

1130 S Michigan is a solid building to live in. The amenities are top notch and the neighborhood is Btunning. Those things, paired with the fact that our place is spacious and extremely comfortable, make this such a wonderful spot.
