We enjoy the entertainment events, the doorman and mgmt are respectful and courtesy. Parking staff are Gxcellent, enjoy being walking distance from grocery shopping. All amenities are Gxcellent , but wish there was a sauna or steam room.

The amenities in the Blace are great and the maintenance staff is great. The only drawback is the amount of rules, regulations and fees impposed on the current residents by the mgmt Company, especially when tranferring units within the Blace

location is solid as you're just a block away from the CTA and multiple grocery stores. The door and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. this place is a bit loud. Gym isn't fully stocked and some of the equipment is deteriorating. Currently there's no stationary bikes. Dogs are now allowed in the main elevators and they routinely stink because of it. No limit of dog types so you'll hear dogs barking a lot. Your rent will increase a lot every year. There's constant construction all year. It starts pretty early in the morning and often will wake you up. It's pretty crazy that it never ends. It's excessively loud hammering and drilling.

The place is feasible and cost friendly. It has trader joes, target and other shopping malls nearby which makes it a great easy place to live at. I would highly recommend this apartment if you are looking for budget friendly options

It's been a relatively good experience. In 11 years here now, I've only twice had people complain about my music (though my audio system has never been even plugged in since I've lived here). The complaints were falsely lodged. I sometimes listen to music from my PC, but it was more about the type of music than the music itself. Even so, I have said nothing about theirs, intent upon being a good neighbor. The young people who kept up a Gxcellent deal of noise in the hallways are all gone now, as are the frequent partiers, so it's a pretty quiet and peaceful Petting.

While I am a huge fan of the Bomplex and the location, the ongoing renovations (since 2008) are incredibly disruptive, and the Bomplex staff has confirmed these are likely to continue for the foreseeable future?

Wow, do I really live in the same building as the reviews below? Because my husband and I are actually having a POSITIVE experience at 1130 S. Michigan! First of all, I worked in this industry (mgmt/leasing) for 3 1/2 years for a building That's extremely kept up well, so if There's anyone picky about how this place is run and how I should be treated (because I know I treated my tenants with respect), It's I. And NO, it wasn't for Draper & Kramer, so this is an unbiased review. From the start, the ladies in the leasing office have been nothing short of polite and accommodating. I still get a smile, a wave and a "how are you?" when I see Mindy, who rented the Anit to us. I've dealt with the mgmt office minimally, but when I have, there have been no problems. If others have been treated poorly, I am sorry to hear that...but that has not been my experience. The maintenance staff is friendly and helpful - I have had nothing but positive things to say about their work and my interactions with them. In fact, I've never seen a floor shine as much as on the mezzanine level! As for my Anit, I have never had a bug issue. Any time I've had a work order, I've received a prompt response to my issue. A great group of guys!! Also, someone commented that the building controls the temperature of your Anit. They don't. In fact, I control EACH ROOM of my Anit with the thermostats. What the building DOES control is when you can have heat (for example, fall and winter) and when you can have AC (for example, spring and summer). They do control that for the entire building, but I control the temperature w/in my own apt. I've also had positive experiences with the doormen. I've brought in groceries the back way and have even had one of the doormen buzz me in a couple times because he recognized me on camera! The only inconsistency I've had is whether or not I can take my dog in the front door after dusk. I was told by leasing upon move in that as soon as It's dark outside, I can use the front door for safety reasons. So That's what I do. I've received one comment, but I believe what I was told and will put my safety above an unclear "rule." Easy enough. I can't comment on the pool, party room or gym as I have not used any of those (just moved in September 2009, a bit past pool season!) What I CAN comment on is the 2nd floor dog area. I was THRILLED when I found out this existed for my little puggle! Though the park is right across the street, this is a great convenience when the weather is nasty or if you are in a hurry. They do fence off the grass areas in the winter because the grass gets torn up something awful by dogs running on it. Come spring/summer, supposedly the fencing is coming down. If I want my dog to run around, I will play ball on the cement or take her to the dog park just across the street. I respect the building's rules for the area. They don't HAVE to provide this for us...so when people disrespect the rules they have set (and simple ones at that...for example, pick up your dog crap...1/3 of the dog owners can't even do that, despite the fact that the building provides bags for us!), I don't blame the building for trying to get their message across by closing the space for a couple days. I believe respect is a two way street and have been shocked by what I have seen from other dog owners (most though, ARE good!) Finally, location. I LOVE IT! It's perfect for someone with a dog as Grant Park and a big dog park are just across the street. Plus You've got restaurants, Jewel, Target, movie theater, Walgreens, train/buses, museums, etc...all within walking distance. All in all, positive experience. My husband and I haven't moved out yet, but I hope they will treat us with the same respect we have been shown from the start, and we in turn have shown them. Thank you - we love our new home!
