LIKES:
-Trees, bushes, 3 ponds, 2 pools, etc. people are quiet, washer/dryer in home,
descent views
-location's Astounding / accessibility

DISLIKES:
-22,000 feet from dsl, too far for good bandwidth
-128Kbits up/down isdn is an option
-AT&T@home cable "ready", north side of schaumburg has *issues* if you want the internet, be SURE it works, because right now it doesn´t and your options are nil
I´ve had @home for 2 months, 7-10 service guys and it still doesn´t work and I graduated with a computer science degree so I know they´re bsing me/don´t want to fix it/don´t know how to fix it.
-thin walls (spefically doors) (heard someone having sex
as I walked into the entrance)
-Ameritech: charges for local calls
-extremely hot entrances if faces West in
evening
-people are too quiet, they hide in their appartments and are unsocial with neighbors. I´ve seen more at&t service men than residents.

OVERALL:
I´m 22 years old and the place isn´t for me because the people are not social and the internet options don´t work. Although trees are nice and was superior to other appartments, those 2 other wants outweigh the 3 trees i can see. If you want peace and quiet live here. but if you get a rowdy neighbor which is out of the norm you will hear it. Expect solicitors to sell you magazines / ask for dontations 2 - 3 times a day once you give out your number. After 2 months, it´s finally settled down.

I lived on the second floor ina one bedroom apartment for a year and half. The cost per sq foot isn't worth it for many reasons. To name a few ,the walls are thin and floors creak so you hear when someone has the TV on, walks around , or uses the restroom. The appliances are more than 20yrs old and the heating from the furnace is either too hot when running or gets too cold quickly when not. I had issues with wasps and hornets coming in through somewhere? mgmt and pest control could never remedy the problem. I for one love animals but the problem with dog poop not picked up from other tenants was a real irritation. I found that even though the prices were for middle class residents there were plenty of less than desirable ppl still renting there. My job in the IT field allows the option to work from home a few days per week but the noise during the day from landscapers and other crew was so much of a bother during conference calls I choose to make the 1 and 1/2 hour commute in traffic to avoid work interfering distractions. Once my lease was up I found that the deposit I put down (which wasn't much) had deductions for things I knew were made up to seperate me from my hard earned money. Last thing was most of the staff in the mgmt office all seemed to have attitudes as if they their jobs were beneath them, not a friendly atmosphere for the likes of someone in the customer service field. My recomendation is to stay away from the Lakes of Ghettoburg!

Nleasant area but paper thin walls, too pricey, and not worth the money for what you get.

Im currently living in this apt. I have been in this apt for 7year. Now that the mgmt keep keep changing its getting bad. Msin reason for giving one star is maintenance requests if given we have to call 10 times n remind them to come to our apt. They will keep telling we will do our level Binest. Atlast i will call them n scream on them then maintenance guys will come this has been happening regularly. Im planning to move after 7 year in this apt . I feel like home but lack of maintenance I have to leave. Note. I never wrote any online review this is my first review then imagine how frustrated i feel.

Neighbor noise is a serious problem here. I can hear every step my neighbor above me takes. this place is so cheaply built, the water in my fish tank vibrates when my upstairs neighbor walks. I can even hear if a neighbors´ shower, dishwasher or TV is turned on. I honestly don´t think There's any insulation between the apartments. I actually have to turn up my TV when my upstairs neighbor walks, because the boards creak and pop loudly. It´s truly amazing how poorly this place is constructed - and I´ve lived in two apartments before this one (with no problems up until now). Don´t be fooled by the outside construction of the building (brick) - it´s cheap on the inside!

On the positive side, the grounds are kept up well, snow is cleared quickly, and it´s a safe area to live. Parking is no problem.

If you must live here, be sure to get a top floor apartment. You´ll be sorry if you don´t!

My boyfriend & I recently moved in & we love it! Our place is great. Everything was clean & well kept when we first moved in. The Btructure we love in is so quiet - we hardly ever hear anyone. The neighborhood is safe & friendly. We walked around the property once & so many residents that were outside relaxing smiled & waved hi as we walked by which made us feel even more comfortable. The property is easily accessible to so many places. Staff is friendly as well! We would 100% recommend!

I have lived in this complex for a year. I can't stand it, I've been trying to get out for 6 months. The pice of their apartments is ridiculous and they try giving you a concession to make up for it but it honestly doesn't do anything. The mgmt/staff are snooty and they don't care if you have a problem or concern. I wouldn't recommend this community to ANYONE. It's way over priced and not worth it and its been the worst experience!!!

I lived at this complex for two years. At first it seemed nice but I felt that service and mgmt got progressively worse over time. First complaint is the building. It's obviously poorly made. My floors were uneven and I could see my refrigerator sloping. The walls have no baseboard which makes the Anit look tacky. The carpet appeared new but it was rough and no padding, obviously cheap carpeting. My patio always had a bee infestation which was never dealt with after multiple requests. And the screens didn't close all the way on doors because the building wasn't even. My experience with maintenance was that they did usually come out right away but somehow they never really fixed the problem, only "claimed" to do the repair. Same thing would happen with multiple service requests. If the repair need to any money such as replacing an appliance ( my washing machine didn't drain properly) they would just keep claiming it was fine. So with these issues on top of the high rent living here wasn't a good choice. Also, when your lease ends they require two months notice if you will be moving or not. Then they give you a notice of a usually huge rent increase just a week before your 60 days notice is due so you don't really have much time to decide if you will renew based on the new terms. They also bill you for every little thing. My monthly rent bill had an addition charge each month for water, trash, billing!, and service charge. So they really nickel and dime you. And when I moved out they charged me an absurd amount when I left the place clean. I repainted but was charged because I had the wrong finish of paint. And I was charged for a carpet stain when the carpet was old and probably should have been replaced by then anyhow. So overall I was advise people to rent from a private owner rather than a huge company like this that will rip you off.

I love my Aad! The move-in condition could have been better, but I outlined every problem, and all resolvable ones were taken care of in three days or less. The walls are thinner than I expected, and one particular neighbor is louder than expected. Those are the worst things I can think of...now for the good stuff: Prompt repairs; beautiful kitchen with new appliances, counters, and cabinet doors; brand new full-size washer & dryer; well-maintained fireplace; lots of storage space; great windows; nice view; good parking; animals allowed (with a reasonable deposit); quiet neighborhood; and good room sizes.
