When I moved into 2000 Biscayne in January, I loved the building — great design, location, and the promise of luxury living. Sadly, that excitement didn’t last. Only three months later, in March, a fire sprinkler line burst and flooded over 30 floors. For nearly three months, we lived in a construction zone while still paying full rent. Communication from management was minimal, repairs were rushed, and the materials used were visibly low quality. It took months for management to offer a small compensation that didn’t come close to addressing the impact. Instead of fixing issues properly, they focused on cosmetic work. Now, several residents have found mold behind their walls, and many of us are experiencing allergy symptoms — raising real concerns about air quality and safety. Hallways still look neglected, power surges are frequent, and essential services like A/C, Wi-Fi, and elevators often stop working. Maintenance is inconsistent, and cleanliness is poor — I’ve seen dogs off-leash and even animal waste in hallways. The entry system only works with U.S. phone numbers, making it impossible for international visitors to enter. I had to book a hotel for my sister when she visited from Brazil because staff didn’t know how to issue a guest card. The final straw came in October, when my car was scratched inside the garage. Management reviewed footage and said it happened in a camera blind spot, advising me to contact my insurance — now I’m left with a $3,400 bill. For a place marketed as “luxury living,� it feels more like a health and safety concern. I hope management takes real action — residents deserve better.
