Fix the building! I have complained numberous time of the up keep off the building to management but it just gets worse -Elevators shut down more than 3+ months - water pipes bursting in the parking lot - trash not picked up when over flown - mouse and roaches infestation - Rude staff List goes on and property management could care less besides collecting monthly rent.

This place is terrible! It's infested with rats, cockroaches and bed bugs and management does nothing to fix it. The sewer lines in the parking lot break daily, garbage is always overflowing and the hot water is turned off all the time. It is run by a slum lord who is rude, arrogant and has no idea what customer service means.

8/26/15 UPDATE After 16 days, there's hot water this morning. Hurray! I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the city inspector came by yesterday. 8/21/15 Things haven't changed. No hot water after two weeks.Intermittently no water at all. First week response: Parts are ordered. Second week: A repair technician has been scheduled. No mention of when boiler will be fixed. I can't tell if it's managerial incompetence or a slumlord owner attitude. I am inclined to think it's the latter but the end result is the same. 10/06/14 UPDATE We're on a roll! Much to my surprise, the elevator was fixed today and there wasn't much fanfare. 9/16/14 UPDATE Hurray! AC is fixed. Like it had anything to do with a city inspector? Nah... Again, I believe the landlord is responsible for the delays; not the property manager. One down. One to go. (elevator). 9/14/14 UPDATE Severe Weather Alerts - Los Angeles, CA Excessive Heat Warning Excessive Heat Warning in effect until Tuesday, 7:00 PM PDT. Source: U.S. National Weather Service LOS ANGELES COUNTY SAN FERNANDO VALLEY: ...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM PDT TUESDAY... AC out of service for six weeks. Elevator out of service for nine weeks. 9/10/14 UPDATE Request a city inspector visit for the AC and elevator. 9/2/14 UPDATE Elevator is going for seven weeks of being out of service. AC isn't fixed after four weeks. I think it's more the owner's fault than the manager's. Maybe a slumlord bought the building? The owners seem to invest in paint but that's about it. I have to take one star away from "Overall" to be truthful. On October of this year, I will have lived three years at Burlington Apartments . I work in downtown LA so it's convenient and for an inner-city neighborhood it's so-so. I don't have to experience much of it because parking is underground. The place is kept clean daily of litter. The first year nothing and I mean nothing ever was done at the premise aside from collecting rent and sweeping the common areas. After moving in I found out the building was infested with bedbugs, roaches, and gang bangers. It wasn't pretty. During the second year the management changed. The new manager did an excellent job. She got rid of the bedbugs, roaches, and the gang bangers. Assigned parking in an orderly fashion. All the common areas were spruced up and repainted and the landscaping was redone. If there were any tenant concerns, she addressed them the same day. Then I believe about eight months ago, she was gone. Since then we've had two or three managers come and go. Aside from maintaining a clean place, it appears nothing in terms of repairs is being done. I'm not blaming the current manager or maintenance guys. Their hands appear to be tied. It looks like the owners don't want to spend any money on necessary repairs. One tenant has a leak on the roof on her apartment and nothing has been done. The elevator is approaching four weeks of being out of service as of today 8/7/14. The central air broke last week. Maintenance confirmed that it's broken but can't do anything until it has approval to purchase a new one. The unit is almost 30 years old. I live on the third floor. Hot air rises so it would be cooler if I slept outside at night. I believe several other tenants as well are more concerned about the building than the owners. I'll keep you posted but if the elevator or the AC doesn't get fixed, there are cheaper options because they don't have an elevator or AC. Why pay for it if you don't have it? I have to take one star away from "Overall" to be truthful.
