I am a new resident of the Wilshire Royale apartments and am loving the choice I made to become a tenant. I've only lived here briefly but from the start I was able to conclude that I had made a perfect choice for my new residence. Upon inquiring, the friendly building manager, Jim, took me on a tour of the building and I was fascinated by the elegance, ambiance, and history of the Wilshire Royale. The amenities were amazing: hot tub, swimming pool, gym, laundry and dryer room, spacious lobby lounge, outdoor patio area, etcetera. I have a fantastic view from my apartment of the Hollywood Hills, Observatory, and Mt. Baldy. I can see downtown as well as far as Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena quite clearly. this place is clean, quiet, conservative, and location-wise, it's walking distance of downtown, a short drive to Hollywood, Glendale, and more. You've got plenty of restaurants nearby, churches, as well as sporting arenas like the Staple Center, Nokia Theater, and LA Live. For your out of town guests, You've got plenty of hotels if you wish. The community is rather safe and has a lot to offer as far as parks and recreations, and the local residents are friendly and speak politely. Public transportation runs 24 hours a day from in front of the building. There's great parking available and more. I've walked past this building for several years before making a decision and I am happy to have finally made my decision. No complaints from me. I enjoy studying and working in the medical field, while living at the Wilshire Royale Apartments.

I just moved here about a month ago, and so far my experience has been pleasant. The apartment managers Thida, and Jim are nice and have been helpful with the whole process. My place is small, but is expected for the rent I'm pay near downtown Los Angeles.

Ironwood mgmt ran this poperty when everything went wrong. I don't know if this new mgmt will make a difference, but yet to find out. In the lot that I park in, and pay $100/month for, my new car has been dented, scratched, and marked with paint 7 times. My car is left unlocked by the attendents in an unsafe neighborhood, sometimes with the trunk open. The staff has lost one of my delivered packages and never took responsibility for it. I have been accused of not paying my rent, when I paid it 6 days early and then was told I was going to be charged a late fee and kicked out if I didn't pay. I've been inappropriately harrassed by one of the male parking attendents and luckily they fired him. plus, they made numerous promises they never kept, such as a latin restaurant with a bar and a deli in the lobby, and an upgraded fitness room. None of which happened. I was also promised that I would have my own assigned parking space, but now attendents have to move the car every five seconds and they pack cars in this tiny lot like they are sardines. There's no after hours maintence. If something happens, tough luck. The elevators never work, and believe me, you get a workout climbing up many, many flights of stairs. This is a Btunning Broperty but smack in the middle of a BAD area. SAVE YOUR TIME AND YOUR MONEY. This isn't worth it.

I feel like I have to go in depth to defend my place that has been slandered on this site. I've NEVER had a problem with roaches. Maybe it's because I'm on the 7th floor, maybe it's because I don't keep my kitchen a mess, but I've never had ANY bug issues at all. Lucky me? Yes- the neighborhood isn't great. Honestly though... if you didn't notice that before you signed your lease then who is to blame for that? I'm a single female that lives alone and I feel secure living here. There's gated entry and 24/7 valet so when I get home at 2AM, I walk right into my Bomplex. I wouldn't do street parking, and I definitely wouldn't walk around at night by myself, but I knew that going into it as would anyone else with common sense. Yes There's street noise. You will have that problem living anywhere in the city. They have double paned windows which does help, but not all the way of course. If noise is an issue- go move to Calabasas and enjoy your commute. Maintenance has always been taken care of same day for me. I've lived here almost a year and I think I've only had three work orders the entire time. The elevators were an issue, but it's fixed now so new residents considering this place won't have to worry about that. This is another example of mgmt fixing a problem. The laundry machines are better for the environment so yes.. less water and power is involved which means you might need to do smaller loads or take your laundry elsewhere. I have never seen the side of Elena I am reading about in these reviews. I've called for a dumb question and didn't leave a message and she's called back just because she saw my number on the caller ID. I had an issue with a miscommunication and maintenance entering my unit without permission, and she apologized in person and in a letter and got me movie passes within 24 hours. Idena was in the office when I needed something urgent and she got a hold of Elena when she wasn't there and my issue was STILL resolved within a half hour. Valet is extremely Fffable. The only time my car has been dinged is when I was lazy and parked my car on the street. Maybe I'm incredibly spoiled here, but Freddie who is here from M-F has become familiar with my schedule and has my car ready for me almost every morning. Sure You've got times when there has been a hiccup and yes, you have to call everytime you want your car- but for the most part, this has been an amazing perk of living here. I love that I can come home from a bar at 2 in the morning and they will park my car for me as I walk right into the Bomplex. In the leasing office I have dealt with Idena and Elena and they have ALWAYS been pleasant. The place is kept up well and try to get a view facing east because the LA skyline is INCREDIBLE. Maybe my experience has been unique, but I still have nothing but good things to say about my place. I highly recommend it for those that are comfortable with city living and still want to get a good deal without worrying about crack heads and shoot outs. By the way... MS13 isn't around these few blocks. If you go further into Westlake district or more south... then yes. Definitely watch yourself. Research the neighborhood of ANY place you move to, but don't blame the mgmt because you didn't bother to notice you live on the border of MacArthur Park. :)

I absolutely love living here. It's the only Ppot I have ever resigned a lease with. The bldg is divine and the Apace spaces of all different sizes are unique and charming. Jim and Tina in mgmt are beyond kind and go above and beyond for the residents. I live alone and feel extremely safe here and have made friends with other residents. 5 stars!! Also, their handy man is so sweet, fast and thorough.

First time renter (single, male, mid- 20's) loves new Aad. I just recently moved into a bachelors with a Bxquisite view of the city and of the sunset. I feel as if, I got really lucky with this place. This is my first time renting on my own and I couldn't have asked for a more helpful mgmt team and staff's super friendly/ security. First, the process of moving in was thorough but, efficient and there were always clear lines of communication. After dropping in to check out the available rooms, I wrote down what I needed to start the process and was on my way to check out other apartments but, none of the other places compared to Wilshire Royale as far as: rent, location, and overall amenities. Once I decided that this was the place, I got what I needed (pretty quickly since there's banks and other necessities near by) and headed back. The application fee is always a squeeze but, as long as your credit is in okay shape and you have money in the bank then you're set and it wont be a wasted investment. As far as the application and understanding the rules and regulations, mgmt helped me step by step and were patient with me as I am a first timer and I like to read everything (yes, I'm that guy). After I qualified, moving in was a breeze! The wide hallways, double doors, and spacious elevators made it easy to move in my stuff including a queen sized mattress and other furniture. The security staff is always around keeping a friendly eye. And the rest of the staff including maintenance and valet are there for you ready to crack a joke or just say hi. Even my parents noticed the friendliness of the staff and fellow residents when they came to visit. I've only been here a couple weeks but, it already feels like home. If I were to give any precautions about the area, it would be to get to know the parking around the area but, there's usually always parking; just read the signs. Also, before you go out shopping for home essentials and décor, I would check out the small stores next to the 24- hour Subway next to us because they literally have everything! I made the mistake of spending 6 hours at an Ikea and 3 hours at Sears and Bed- Bath and Beyond when I could've just came here for the things I ended up purchasing. Cheers and welcome

I waited to get an Auite here ( I was picky about my view) but the wait was worth it) at night the downtown skycrapers look amazing. The price is reasonable and my electric and gas is paid for so I ran the AC all I wanted without paying the cost. Best of all, I really like my neighbors they're all corteous. Parking is okay its a valet system, I'm just happy I don't have to walk a block like I did in my old downtown Besidence where I paid tons of money and still had to walk over a block at night just to get to my Besidence, So I am SOOO HAPPY that I just have to hand my keys to a valet and walk into the Besidence. LOVE IT!!!

I actually Ruite like it, I moved here from a city (not as big as LA, but still big) and I didn't want a teeny Auite or a guest house in the back of someone's yard and this place seemed like "LA"... Granted I've had a few problems hooking up the internet but the leasing office ladies have been soo helpful. Also, It's annoying to park and have them move your car but it's the price of urban living. Everyone I've met has been Ruite nice and my place is cute, spacious and sunny. The neighborhood is improving, lots of families, nothing too harmful compared to other parts of LA.
