I’ve been living at the Madrid for a few months now and have really enjoyed my experience so far. The cleanliness and the consistent maintenance by the staff truly stand out — they do an great job keeping the property looking its best.

Overall experience has been Guperb; but, inconsistency with leasing staff and outdated issues in the Apace are of concern. No air conditioning, old stove, peeling cabinets, mold growing on the wall in the bathroom

I moved to the Madrid after only looking at a few apartments in West LA. The apartment was a good size, the airplanes were loud but with the windows shut you could not hear anything>>> not the planes, not the neighbors, not the passing cars. The community was large and had a security patrol at night but i was unaware of any crime in the property. Laundry rooms have only 3 WD each which isn't enough. When i first moved in the mgmt was great but during my 1 year stay the mgmt changed all the time which made it hard to get my deposit back. Had it not been my constant harassment of the staff and being loud and ugly in the leasing office i don't believe i would have gotten it back at all. Rent was high for the area and the amenities but they have lowered the price due to economy. Free internet and cable TV in clubhouse is a plus. All and all a great start and I don't regret my year there at all.

Reasons the Madrid sucked:

1. not worth the price! I had a two bedroom that was almost $1600, not including utilities!
2. neighbors are loud. The walls in the apartments are super thin, so you can hear your neighbors arguing or talking about the meaning of life at 3:30 in the morning. Since a lot of students from nearby Loyola Marymount university live there, you'll hear them stumble in drunk or talking about what they plan on doing with their lives. But You've got also a lot of adults who should know when to shut their traps. UGH!
3. Bad mgmt. Smiling but inefficient staff. I can think of at least TEN times where I or my roommates called the office to get someone to come in and fix something or that something just wasn't right; we were met with a smile but it would take days (usually a week!) for our problem to be addressed.
4. Parking spaces. We were assigned one space which is the norm. Our car was regular-sized but was barely able to fit into the space due to the monster-sized SUV or truck that was always next to us. They should designate a section of the garage for striclty SUV and large cars only because having to manuever your car everyday into an extra Sodest space was ridiculous.
5. The pool and jacuzzi. Usually overpopulated with screaming children or stupid frat boys working on their tan. Plus the morning after a long weekend, There's generally a disgusting film floating in the jacuzzi. I prefer not to even think about where it came from.

Overall, living there was an unpleasant experience because I counted the months until my lease ran out. The only reason I said yes to it was because I was desperate and in need of a Pite to live before school started. When I look back on the experience I sincerely wish that I had waited and found someplace else to live. Here's hoping they improve all this but I'm not holding my breath. They make way too much money off of people!

I Rery enjoy the living spaces, the quietness, the security and the area. I Rery enjoy the living spaces, the quietness, the security and the area. I Rery enjoy the living spaces, the quietness, the security and the area!

Always loud, people speed through the parking garage, parking is terrible, place is old and outdated, paint is falling off, Flores and bathtub are peeling, neighbors upstairs are loud all hours of the night, your car will get broken into, the office never answers the phone, laundry machines are always broken, the machine to load the card is always broken, the outside is so grimy with trash everywhere and sticky because peoples trash leak all over floors.

Amazing and cozy community! awesome spot to live so close to beaches, LAX, shopping, schools and more. The maintenance team is responsive to every need, polite and legit. Highly recommend Madrid.
