I read all the review of this R2 apartment and many of them are negative. At first I'm skeptical about this place because of all the bad review, but turns out I'm loving it. My place is in the 4th floor for two bedroom, the view is amazing, the space is very spacious and modern. I barely hear any noise, it's pretty quiet. My only complaint is I just wish the gym could be bigger and have more equipment, and heated pool, other than that everything is great :)

Let me break it down. -The whole entire outside of the complex smells like urine and feces. No one picks up after their pets, so you will most likely step in feces too. I have many times. Try walking up the stairs from the garage to the front... smells of urine, you will literally have to hold your breath. -A lot of places have two parking spaces, but a lot of apartments that deserve two parking spaces only have one... Yet management parks in the garage in the extra spaces. The street is not permit parking either so its very difficult to find a space... and they're building yet another building on the street so parking will become even more difficult. IF YOU LIVE IN A STUDIO, THEN YES, I UNDERSTAND... BUT ANYTHING THAT IS CONSIDERED AN ACTUAL ONE BEDROOM WITH TWO PEOPLE SUCH AS A MARRIED COUPLE, MANAGEMENT SHOULD FIND A WAY TO ACCOMMODATE YOU BUT THEY JUST TAKE THE SPOT INSTEAD. -The layouts of the places are pretty damn cool but they're not put together with quality... half of my wall is painted a different shade of white than the others... spots of off-white on the bright white wall to cover up damage from the person that lived in this place before me. -Make sure to be ready to clean before you move in because the cleaning service does a terrible job.. everything is dusty, FRIDGE HAD FOOD CRUMS AND THE SHELVES WERE STICKY WITH FOOD STUCK TO THEM... MICROWAVE HAD THE SAME THING.. floors are filthy. the tiles in the bathroom looked discolored and i asked many times before i moved in the place why it was so filthy and they told me it was just "Wear and tear".... well after three hours of scrubbing I got it back to looking new. -If you have a problem with your apartment and need maintenance to fix it, expect a wait of 2 weeks to a month. literally. -Everyone is always loud. Doors always slamming and you'll hear it at all hours, 5AM, 10PM... any time because when one door slams it echoes throughout the WHOLE place. Not to mention, dog fights all the time... barking like you're living in a dog kennel. 2AM is usually the loudest. -Pool parties allllllllllllllllllll summer long during the week nights.... loud, loud, loud! -TAKE A LOOK WHEN THE LAST TIME THE ELEVATOR WAS INSPECTED. APRIL 2008. I realized this when I got in the elevator and it started moving without closing the doors. GREAT WORK, MANAGEMENT. -I SAW A CHILD URINATE IN THE POOL ONE DAY WHEN I WAS TANNING IN THE SUMMER. I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS CLEANED BUT THAT IS STILL NOT SANITARY! The list could go on and unfortunately i will have to AGREE WITH EVERYONE THAT WROTE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. they all make valid points, so i will leave it at this: I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY LEASE. I CAN GET AN AMAZING PLACE RIGHT BY THE BEACH (THIS PLACE ISNT EVEN IN MARINA DEL REY! MAILING ADDRESS IS LA!) FOR THIS KIND OF PRICE IS WILL BE WAYYYY BETTER! OHHHH AND YOU CAN'T EVEN MAKE TOAST WITHOUT THE FIRE ALARMS GOING OFF CONSTANTLY.

I have lived here just over a year now and it has been nothing but a great experience. It almost feels as if I live at a hotel. All the appliances are new. If you get locked out management will open your apartment for you. You get apples and snacks and waters for free. Simple things but very nice. The management and staff are all very great, down to earth people and I always enjoy talking to them. It is a very fun and beautiful unique loft style living. Pool, ping-pong, chess, community events, gym, ex... It has been one of my best living experiences. Some really cool people. Sometimes a bit noisy and a few rude people who I have seen treat the management and staff poorly because their money gives them a sense of entitlement. It's unfortunate, but it happens. I like the location and that it is a smaller loft complex. I really enjoy it here.

My husband and I got married 6 months ago and moved into R2. This is our first place together and we've made some great memories here. Our loft is gorgeous and very unique. There really is nothing else like it in the area. So far we have had only great experience with Management. You can tell they work very hard. Though I do wish the common area was open after 10pm, I am so happy with all of the ammenities and resident services this place offers. The free fitness trainer & yoga is a definite plus. Sadly this website is only used by people who like to moan and complain, either because they are just unhappy individuals or because they don't like certain rules Management enforces to keep this place running right. My man and I love it here and definately reccommend to others. (And no this is not written by Management.)

If a cross between a frat house, a kennel and a nursery is your idea of a Creative Live/Work space Come to R2. If paying Restoration Hardware prices for Ikea quality seems like a bargain Come to R2. If having your entire apartment shake and rumble when the people upstairs decide to move around fits your definition of Edgy Loft Come to R2. If filing noise-nuisance complaints, calling the police and hiring a tenant lawyer (to protect yourself from the retaliation engendered by doing the above) is how you like to spend your spare time Come to R2. If you have great success dealing with manager-types who refer to themselves as B---- In Heels Come to R2. If your idea of a quiet evening at home is the sound of neighbors hosting an outdoor party for 40 of their closest friends Come to R2. If waiting 2-5 weeks for a 48-hour repair seems reasonable Come to R2. If that sinking, sucking feeling in your gut after you ve made a horrible decision makes you feel alive Come to R2.

I HAVE TO SAY MY LOFT IS PERFECT.MY VIEW IS OF THE HILLS.MY NEIGHBORS ARE VERY QUIET BUT I PAY A GOOD DEAL OF MONEY BEING ON THE 4TH FLOOR AND NOT BEING OVER THE POOL AREA. AS FOR THE MANAGER AND MAINTENANCE I HAVE TO SAY I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THEM.EVERYTIME THERE IS A PB THEY FIX IT RIGHT AWAY. I AM AWAY FOROM THE PARTY GOERS WHICH ARE LOCATED NEXT TO THE SWIMMING POOL AND GRILL AREA.OVERALL I LOVE THIS PLACE AND I AM A PICKY PERSON.I THINK THE TRICK IS TO PICK THE RIGHT LOFT FOR YOUR NEED.

The office staff acts like the place is full of celebrities. What is really is....over priced, poorly constructed, full of spoiled college kids living off mommy and daddy, and a nasty manager. The place is SO loud. Parties all night long with loud music and screaming. If you don't have a job or have to get up in the morning and you don't care about doors slamming all the time, then this maybe the place for you. Otherwise, go elsewhere. You will be happy you did. The place is WAY too expensive for what it is. It's not even in the Marina, the address is LA. All negative reviews should tell you something.

R2 Living sucks. All the previous reviews are right Management sucks, its extremely LOUD, and wandering drunks walking in and out of the units all night 1. Apartment Doors probably weight a good 100 lbs. Whenever somebody closes the door it shakes my entire 700 square ft apartment. SHAKES like an earthquake. Imagine that at 2 AM 2. I love dogs. I have a dog in the unit but other owners let their dog bark at all hours in the night which only incites my normally quiet pet. Owners allow their pets to piss and poop all over the place and they won t pick it up. 3. I ve seen drug deals, a prostitute/escort with some dirty old dude, a fist fight, screaming arguments at 2 in the morning, several police cars, a police helicopter, a fire truck, , an ambulance in 1 year of living in this hell hole 4. The parking lot has a few areas where you can lock up your bicycle. My bike was safe but know a few owners that had their bikes ripped straight off the chain 5. The entire apartment is slightly off-center. Put an ice cube on the ground. Go to sleep. Wake up. Ice cube melted and made a trail about 6 feet long. 6. ITS LOUD at all hours and all days. Since this apartment is close to Loyola a lot of the rich spoiled brat kids living off mommy and daddy money throw parties every single day. Or they go out and arrive at 4:00 am screaming and laughing while the normal 9-to-5 crowd is trying to get sleep Its unfortunate because I love the locations and the units are designed well. My lease is over in November. I'M OUT.

All the other reviews are true. We pay top dollar and it's like living in a dorm. Doors slamming, people yelling, and dogs barking at all hours of the day and night. The place is ridiculously over-priced. Management does nothing to resolve any issues and all they care about is collecting as much money as possible. We are definatley moving out when our lease is up. For the amount of money they charge move to the beach.

I agree with all the negative reviews - I thought by living just far enough away from the common areas that there wouldn't be a problem with noise but I was wrong. It is constant. If it isn't the people screaming and partying in the courtyard then its the loud banging of the door to the BBQ area. Over and over and over. I've asked about getting it fixed but it seems they aren't going to do anything about it. The over all sense I get from management is that they don't care and this company just wants your money - there is absolutely no customer service - no gratitude towards the tenants for paying incredible rent prices. I too have smelled pot in the elevator. You just don't want to live here.
