I lived here for over a year and I can tell you this place is terrible. Here is why, the entire lot is located on a fault line and will shake any time there is any semblance of a tremor anywhere near the area. I have since moved and haven't felt any of that for a very long time even through reported tremors. Furthermore, as already mentioned the dog situation here is horrible, feces and urine everywhere. The poor neighbors in the surrounding area get bombarded with daily fecal runs to their front laws creating a gross environment to be in. If you have a dog it will most certainly be sick due to all the bacteria in the area. Moving on, there are several low level staff members who live in the complex at a discount. I don't know about you but if I am being severely ripped off for a small apartment constructed with low grade materials the last thing I want it to see the cleaning lady and handy man coming out of their severely discounted apartments by me in the mornings and evenings. They should be off site along with management. Holly the manager walks around the place like she owns it and that is very off putting as well. They also have very cheesy bright red rental flags and signs out front trying to snare more idiots to rent here. The place charges $2000.00 a month for a 450 sq foot apartment. Ahahahaha what kind of idiot pays this? Do yourself a huge favor and don't walk but run away from this place!

Here's how a financially troubled developer turned aâ?¨townhouse project into a more profitable 'dog kennel.' After leasing our unit management fills property with dogs! Result? The shear number of dogs destroy peace and serenity with loud dog barking continuouslyâ?¨day and night, unhealthy dog feces and fresh dog urine up and down entire street. A video was produced at the request of the County of Los Angeles (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ID-tn3TmC3o) following numerous complaints. Each instance when county officials visited the R-1 R-2 property,â?¨California Landmark denied that the dog feces and urine came from their property. Since I was a complaining resident the L.A. County Health Department requested I â?¨record a video documenting the fact California Landmark dogs were the offenders.â?¨ Subsequently, a Notice of Violation and hearing was issued to California Landmark. I have been living at R2 Lofts for 7 months. This has been by far the best living experience thus far. I love Marina Del Rey and this complex is ultra convenient! I'm close to my gym and I have a lot of options when it comes to convenient shopping both retail and grocery. The staff is the bomb! Very nice, friendly, efficient and understanding. The spaces are the best around! They have so many floor plans here, Everyone's unit looks totally different. Great place to meet friends and call home.

I moved in in August 2013 into a studio apartment. Although i thought it would be small my apartment is perfect. The move in process was quick and I was accommodated nicely by management. This complex has a real community feel and everyone is very respectful and nice. There is not really any noise or commotion, which is good because i always leave the windows open. The units are clean and well built, there is also a security guard that comes on the weekend to keep noise down which is very helpful. I don't like that i have to park on the street but i can always find a parking. Pavilions and other grocery stores are walking distance so everything is very convenient. I also love walking down to the Marina and enjoying the serenity with my girlfriend. I would definitely recommend this place! The staff is so friendly and nice, I actually feel cared about by the girls in the office. I was a bit skeptical when I first moved in but I think i made the right choice. This is an awesome place if you work at home like I do and are looking for a calm community. I am 100% satisfied! :) Oh i forgot there is a washer and dryer in every unit!

I have lived here for a little under a year, and I love it! The people here are very respectful and nice. It is a real community! Being from the East coast, we typically know our neighbors. I feel like I have the best of both worlds living here! It's definitely the West Coast Living, with an East Coast flair. The staff here is so sweet and helpful! It is three lovely ladies, always willing to help me out. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy and content. No apartment community I have ever lived in was perfect, but this one is pretty close!

I've been a resident for a few months now and I love this place. The apartment space is really fun and open. The grounds are safe and meticulous. The vibe is really cool, artsy and hip. The staff is sweet, considerate and attentive. Overall, very satisfied. Thank you for a great experience.

R2 is a great place. It feels to me like an Upscale Artist's Dorm. Lots of people in "the biz". Dog friendly, live/work spaces, everything you want, except vending machines, which would be nice. No killer views, but really nice spaces, and nice people. It's surrounded by cool places to eat, and places to buy supplies. I only use my car when I have to leave The Westside. I really like the people in the office, where, BTW, there are cookies.

I moved in last Summer and just renewed. This place isn't like other apartment complexes. It really is luxury living. The amenities and resident services are awesome? Dry cleaning services, free yoga classes, cabana lounge, it's really cool. The property is always kept up, the residents are cool, management is helpful....the vibe is just really good here. I'm happy and I'm stayin for a while.

Love my space once I'm in side. I feel like I'm in SoHo. However, don't walk like a normal person in your place because the downstairs unit will pound on your ceiling like a low class tenant in the bronx. For 7 months the tenant's low class bimbo girlfriend pounded on our ceiling when ever we walked on our floor, even at 3pm in the day. The management did nothing! And when we could not take it any longer paying $4k per/month, we were admonished for finally yelling at the bimbo downstairs and her "ex-cop" boyfriend. The construction is horrible! So, if you can hover over your floor or float like a butterfly...rent here. If you are a normal person of fit nature... and walk with out your shoes on watch out for "bimbo" girlfriends that will pound on your ceiling when you walk... to low class to deal with when spending $4k per/month.

I have lived in my own house - Have had condos & apartments all over the world. R-2 Living is a property that is like living in Disney!!! Let's start with the fact that it is maintained at the highest level of cleanliness all due to the best maintenance on an everyday basis. They get an A for detail in all areas. Service is remembered long after the price. However, in today's market along with what you get, the pricing is more than fair. Even after your lease is signed the administration office is there for all your needs under all circumstances with a smile & ready to serve. The resident & their needs are what's most important at this property. We have quality get togethers run by the building on all occasions or just for an excuse to have friendly gatherings to keep the building a happy community all while being respectful to a person's privacy. It's a quiet building with all different loft style apartments with the freedom of making you feel like you live in a house. Also, they are pet friendly! This is a true tribute to the staff & security that R-2 living gives!
