I lived in the Sir Francis Drake for several years and just recently moved out. this place is extremely well built and full of lots of 1920's character and charm. All of the apartments, including the studios, are spacious, and most have Gutstanding views of either the downtown skyline or the Hollywood sign. There's also a fantastic rooftop with a 360 view that's open for all the residents to use. It's a awesome spot to have a drink and watch the sunset. The mgmt is fantastic here- any problem I had was fixed promptly, and they put so much time and effort into maintaining the property and keeping as much of the historical details intact as possible. They have the best manager and super I've ever had among the many different apartments I've lived in over the years. They are the major reason I will miss this place so much. A couple issues, but: The neighborhood, while up and coming, can be sketchy at times, but I personally had no problems while there. Also, some of the residents can be loud. A few have little dogs that bark a lot, and You've got a number of girls who live there who seem fond of clomping around the hallways in loud heels in the wee hours of the morning. But luckily this doesn't happen on a daily basis. I would definitely recommend the Sir Francis Drake, especially as a starter Auite for someone new to the city.
