“Pros: Always clean, garbage management was great, decently quiet Cons: Management was always unresponsive and didn't clean the apartment or paint the walls upon moving in”

“Unit 2a Pros: good location, very clean, surprisingly no pest or rat problems, trash collection is very easy Cons: apartment is tiny and overpriced for the space, apartment came in terrible move in condition, but nothing unliveable. Advice to landlord: be more responsive”

“Pros: Tall ceilings, good location Cons: No heat for the entirety of winter, stove broken and refusing to fix, doesn’t respond to emails, very rude, cheapskates Advice to landlord: stop sucking”

“Pros: The building is very clean with the super coming everyday to clean the lobby and help break down boxes. Management typically helps if you call and push a bit Cons: Heat turned off multiple times this winter and it was freezing and we continually had to call and report it and they would fix it temporarily but not long term. We also saw a mouse, but the building sends monthly exterminators to help. Management isn’t super helpful and tries to avoid a lot of responsibility Advice to landlord: Fix the heat so it doesn’t continually break”

“Unit 7 Pros: Great Location. Near the subway. Management is good. Cons: Heat is central. Apartment is very hot all winter. Small space.”

“Pros: This rental building is not for the faint of heart. Think of the sleaziest cheapest landlords imaginable and times it by 10. That is what you will be getting in this building. Upon entering the building there is a “virtual doorman” system (barely ever works properly), you'll also notice the modern lobby. Don’t be fooled. This building is illegally run in so many ways. I had brown water and a shower that doubles as a breeding ground for mold among a million other issues. Cons: Nice neighbors who advocate for each other Advice to landlord: Be a decent human being”

“Pros: Fun and young vibe. Pretty decent neighborhood close to subways. Roof was nice. Cons: Overall just a little old and run down. Appliances not up to date. Rooms not huge.”

“Pros: they're good at managing the trash Cons: the laundry area is not nice. not clean.. even the machines themselves are not clean, and often make clothing dirtier than they were beforehand (especially white) - Advice to landlord: please spend some money to get some brand new washing machines, and refurbish the laundry. this is the one and only part of the building aside from our apartments that we as tenants have access to, and it in complete disarray. machines probably havent been cleaned in 20 years”

“Pros: Neighborhood, some units have private outdoor patios, roof has views of Manhattan Cons: Horribly maintained building for the price. The laundry in the basement barely works. The dryer doesn’t dry clothes. There are roaches and a building exterminator that doesn’t show up. Our apartment was flooded during a rain storm and it took 3 weeks for them to patch up the ceiling. Our neighbors apartment flooded and they were forced to gut the entire apartment. The super is great, but knows that management is shady. He will do his best to help you but management is disconnected and doesn’t care since they can find other tenants to pay high NYC rent for this neighborhood without caring about building maintenance”

“Pros: Good neighbors, great rooftop, great location. Cons: Terrible mouse problem that was never resolved. They were clearly deep in the building and they would just have an exterminator put a few traps in the apartment. Our apartment was totally infested. They didn’t do nearly enough to address the problem. Also the coin operated laundry that took 16 quarters to wash and dry a load was annoying. Advice to landlord: Handle the mice. Replace the laundry machines with ones that take a card.”

“Pros: Location, elevator and location Cons: You can hear your neighbors talk across the walls and hear everything they do. They walls are extremely paper thin and it’s due to lack of maintenance Advice to landlord: Fix the floors of the units and make sure to keep the place clean before a new tenant moves in. Probably get rid of the vent system In the kitchen since you can hear conversations of other tenants and this breaks privacy”
