WYCKOFF HEIGHTS REALTY, INC. · avg 3.0 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Pros: Good neighborhood, rent-stabilized, nice and roomy, close to nightlife Cons: Nightlife can be obnoxious but that's not the landlord's fault, heat is a little wonky when it gets really cold, apartment is expensive Advice to landlord: Figure out how to upgrade the boiler”
— 1332 WILLOUGHBY AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Good location, unit well priced for size, no problems with neighbors largely Cons: You must pester management to have anything dealt with here. I had mice problems for 4+ weeks and they kept sending the super in until I demanded real pest control. Then I had a series of leaks a year later--rusted out pipes in the ceiling burst 5 times in 3 different locations, soaking my things in bathwater from the upstairs tenant. Again had to harass management to get cleaning and replacements paid for, $ off rent, an actual plumber in. They also kept stiffing supers so the super changed 3+ times. DO NOT LIVE IN THIS BUILDING.”
— 1338 WILLOUGHBY AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 3A Pros: Great light, neighbors, and super close to subway, bars, restaurants Cons: Owner is not very responsive. Had a few maintenance issues (leaks, etc) that required a lot of hassling to be addressed”
— 77 WYCKOFF AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Secure, super will come to fix things, neighbors are wonderful, good price/low rent increases Cons: Landlord unreachable on Friday and Saturday, sometimes takes many times asking to get something fixed”
— 83 WYCKOFF AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 2B Pros: Cheap, large bedrooms. Cons: Lousy management, never fixed anything unless it threatened lasting damage to their property I.e. leaky pipes.”
— 1338 WILLOUGHBY AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Location to grocery, laundry, restaurants, MH park, subway Cons: cockroaches, ants, mice, filthy walls and floors, super was fired for allowing someone to squat in the basement, everything is old and run down Advice to landlord: a paint job and deep clean would do wonders. get a super who cares.”
— 83 WYCKOFF AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: The neighborhood is fantastic. Great nightlife and close to the L and M which makes getting around a breeze. The building is on a corner which is nice and is close to all the amenities you will need since the units don't have them. Cons: The heat is inconsistent in the winter and building management has been slow and/or completely unresponsive to fix it. Pest control is lackluster only servicing once a month and you need to be home to let them in but they don't tell you when they are coming. The backyard that isn't concrete is constantly overgrown and seemingly only gets cut down maybe twice a year Advice to landlord: A little more effort would really go a long way.”
— 83 WYCKOFF AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Overall my experience living here was good because I was young and didn’t care about things much. Location is insanely good Cons: There was a roach issue that got worse on the last few months I lived here. Some mold problems too. Management not the most responsive or helpful Advice to landlord: Be more responsive to tenant issues”
— 85 WYCKOFF AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Good location, great views Cons: No response from landlord/management most of the time, the building managers never remember who you are, even if you live there for years. The building is old and falling apart - half the outlets don't work, the vents don't work, and pest control never comes out.”
— 1332 WILLOUGHBY AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Large studio for the area, good layout, good appliances Cons: Thin walls, needs a renovation”
— 61 WYCKOFF AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Good location. The space itself was fine for one person if you don’t spent much time at home. Cons: The neighbors party nonstop day and night right on the stoop. It was a nightmare living in the first floor and working from home during Covid. There would be like 15-20 people out there some days, and an average of 5-8. No masks, blasting the music from their car, getting in fights right under the windows. It sucked. The landlords were just like, hate it for you there’s nothing we can do. Advice to landlord: Remove noisy tenants and if you can’t remove them at least have someone show up and ask them to leave when requested by your other tenants. Update your heating system.”
— 1332 WILLOUGHBY AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Good area for restaurants and shops. Cons: An unbelievable cockroach problem that I’d never thought I’d ever experience. Extermination and bug bombing did NOTHING. I would come home and flip on the light switch and they would scatter everywhere. There was one day I killed 7 live ones, and when they did exterminate there was over 15 dead ones found. Advice to landlord: I don’t think anything can be done to fix this if the cockroaches are a part of the ecosystem of the building.”
— 85 WYCKOFF AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 3D Pros: Great location, pre-war character, under market-value rent. Cons: Some terrible neighbors, people who don't live there leave trash in the hallways, have passed out on the stairs, probable package thief in the building. Advice to landlord: Paint the hallway so it looks less grimey”
— 1332 WILLOUGHBY AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Close to subway and park, walkable hangouts Cons: Cheap owners. Wont fix windows. smoking in apartment from older residents. Dealer and crew take over front of building year round. Constant yelling and arguing in second floor Advice to landlord: Try harder. Trying to make a bucks off of non locals.”
— 1332 WILLOUGHBY AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Great location and price point and the apartment is pretty spacious. Landlord and Super are pretty responsive. Safe neighborhood and building. Easy mail and trash situation. Cons: Heat cannot be controlled in the unit and windows do not open - this means you're running AC all winter. Water pressure isn't the best. No windows in the common area (kitchen/living room) so it's very dark. Advice to landlord: Fix the heat situation.”
— 83 WYCKOFF AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Cheap rent for the area Cons: Noisy tenants 24/7 Advice to landlord: Remove noisy tenants, ASAP!”
