“Unit 1B Pros: The super is very responsive and does his job great. When there's a problem, he's there to help. Cons: This building has MICE and silverfish bugs and roaches. There was also a time that the water pipes burst when someone on the 3rd floor was taking a shower and it flooded the 1st and 2nd floor below them. Advice to landlord: Would be great to figure out the pest issue.”

“Pros: Cheap, good location, great super Cons: Basement flooded, no sunlight on 1st floor, not clean”

“Unit 64 Pros: Super cheap and in a great location. The super, Oscar, is incredible. Appliances are in good shape. Water pressure is good, pests are limited. Cons: The rooms are just so tiny. Garbage maintenance is strange. Heat is too hot. I have zero communication with the landlords/owners, not sure who they are. There are no closets in most of the space. Advice to landlord: Figure out the garbage.”

“Pros: Super is nice, apartment is spacious, taqueira across the street is great. Cons: The building is old. The roof above our sink collapsed and caused serious water damage to the cabinetry (though no mold). We had a serious pest problem (German roaches). Building itself is not well constructed; floors are uneven, tiling is cracking, door handles falling off. Tenants leave garbage in the hallways even though there is a place to leave it. Stairways are filthy, usually at least one dead roach on the steps.”

“Pros: Building is clean (no rats or roaches) Quiet Cons: Heat went out and was not working for a few days during the really cold month of January. All they fit was give us space heaters. Advice to landlord: NA”

“Unit 64 Pros: 1. Biodiversity: rodents, cockroaches & others 2. Music from partying students inside the building & nearby restaurants on the street. Also experimental music from heating pipes (exclusively available in winter) 3. No elevator - enforced daily excercises Cons: Unresponsive, dishonest management. Also they didn't return our deposit.”

“Unit 64 Pros: Clean, plenty of space, good neighbors Cons: Make sure door always remains closed. Would often be propped open.”

“Unit No Pros: i really like the apt's location and i feel relatively safe in that area. its so easy to walk to morningside or central park which i like, and its got convenient trains nearby! Cons: There was a rat in our unit once and kind of rude to my other female roommates Advice to landlord: Be more respectful”

“Pros: In unit washer/Dryers Updated appliances Cons: Noise of pets barking Rats in walls Advice to landlord: Prioritize keeping area rodent free and cleanliness”

“Pros: Location, pretty quiet street, nice landlord, timely maintenance, usps guy was chill Cons: Had roaches towards the end of our year lease that just kept getting worse and pest control would constantly skip our apartment”

“Pros: It’s very close to Central Park and Riverside is a few aves over as well. Nice places to eat and a 24 hour market two aves up. It’s in a great central area for the cost. Cons: The bugs are a little too much in the summer. The tenants like to smoke and leave the door open so having the room by the door isn’t the best when you get smacked in the face with that smell of weed.”

“Pros: Conveniently located near Central Park and a bus on every avenue near you. Subways lines two blocks away in both directions. 24 hour deli in the neighborhood that delivers. Cons: Walk up building, stairs are particularly difficult. Apartments aren’t the biggest. You can hear the rats running through the walls at night. Some bedrooms don’t have heaters. Young tenants running in and out of building selling and using drugs. Young tenants also hand out in the hallways at all times of the night. Advice to landlord: Pay attention at night. In the day you guys have it down pact. At night it is an entire different scene. Do something about the rats. Start giving heat and hot water always.”

“Pros: The apartment is conveniently located just 2 blocks from Central Park and 2 blocks from Broadway. It is on a nice quiet street with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and all your daily needs. An added perk for students is that it is only a 10 minute walk from the Columbia campus. Cons: No major cons. Advice to landlord: None. I have no advice.”
