THE DOWNTOWN CLUB CONDOMINIUM · avg 4.4 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Pros: Top notch gym and rooftop. Nice lobby. Cons: Lived in 33F - the surrounding neighbors were insane. It was impossible to sleep due to the lack of noise insulation between units. Front desk (Big bald guy + Shaun) were terrible. Rude and operating as through they were the tenant, disgusting. Advice to landlord: Have the front desk operate with basic customer service in mind. Nasty to have to deal with them in what's supposed to be one's home. It's unhealthy.”
— 20 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Very well kept, clean lobby and nice apartment units Cons: Older heating system and leaking windows that are not easily fixed, tough during winter months”
— 20 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: nice rooftop Elevator Doorman Subway access Cons: Windows had no screens (high up and kinda freaky) Advice to landlord: N/a”
— 20 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Kind doorman, great amenities, amazing location Cons: ~$3 per load of laundry and occasional dishwasher issues Advice to landlord: n/a”
“Unit 22-C Pros: Nice quality units Cons: Coat of rent Advice to landlord: N/A”
— 20 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great value considering the area and amenities. Cons: The doormen can be hit or miss.”
— 20 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: - Many subway stations close - Easy walk to battery park city waterfront - Access to bike path - Gym is amazing (even free weights) - Tall ceilings in most units - Doormen and porters are nice - Common areas just renovated Cons: - Car noise from West St and Hugh Carey tunnel during rush hours - Takes longer than you'd think to walk around the area because there are major roadways right outside - Not much in the immediate area (no coffee shops or grocery stores, only 1 deli) Advice to landlord: Would be nice to use a different work order system, there were times I had to call repeatedly over several days to get some work done.”
— 20 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Can hear everything from neighbors. no sleep Cons: Can hear everything from neighbors. no sleep Im so tired I wrote that in the pros Advice to landlord: get ride of the insane, weird tenants with no awareness they're not the only person in the building. This is literally killing property values”
— 20 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great staff, minimal maintenance issues, good overall vibe Cons: Basement a little stinky Advice to landlord: Keep up the good work!”
— 20 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Smells incredible, the roof is insanely nice and always empty, the gym is massive, repairs are done timely - it’s an older building but is best budget luxury you can get Cons: occasional appliance issues given age of building”
— 20 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Building staff are very attentive and any maintenance issues I had were responded to right away. Cons: If you have an Art Deco window, you will likely be unable to open it.”
— 20 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Unit 42E Pros: Convenient location in FiDi. Building is clean. Cons: Wish there were Washer/Dryers in unit. Almost no where to park - I get it’s NY, but the building doesn’t have a loading zone so if you’re moving in/out or have groceries/bags, there isn’t a place to really put the car while your bring stuff in the building unless you have someone else to wait in the car. Advice to landlord: Owner does not respond to texts, emails, issues, or concerns. Shows up unannounced. Unpaid utilities get turned off frequently, there is mold from water damage, and landloard does not respond when reached out to.”
— 20 WEST STREET · Manhattan“Area is nice, the park is across the street. All the doormen are very nice. The problem is that there does not seem to be a strong management that enforces rules for peaceful living. Our neighbor threw large loud parties until 8:00 in the morning. We told the management many times and they did absolutely nothing about it. I guess that is why the cost of this building is below average ?”
