“Pros: Good location and neighborhood Cons: Noisy and sooo hot”
— 310 EAST 19 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Very clean, well kept up and responsive! Cons: Packages being stolen”
— 310 EAST 19 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The super is extremely responsive and helpful. He keeps the building very clean and responds to any issues quickly. Cons: Building can be loud. Washer/dryer machines break from time to time.”
— 310 EAST 19 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: This is a great building with a lot of young adults inside. The landlord is amazing and very responsive, he helps out with everything. The place was clean upon move-in and has no issues. Cons: It took the building 1 year to install laundry when it was meant to take a month, and an additional year to let tenants use the laundry instead of a few weeks”
— 310 EAST 19 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The back courtyard the apartment faces is quiet and lovely, and in front it faces a school playground. The stairwell is much wider than standard nyc apartments in this neighborhood. The super who runs this building and his family are great. Cons: We had issues with cockroaches. Also had to use a hot plate for a few months once because gas for the whole building went out. Wish there were roof rights, especially in summer when it gets muggy. Advice to landlord: Roof rights!”
— 310 EAST 19 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: affordable price (moved in December 2020), amazing live-in super, responsive management, spacious apartments Cons: It took 2.5 years for them to install the laundry machines that they claimed would be there when we moved in.”
— 310 EAST 19 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Overall a really quiet building, packages are never an issue, building is old but kept clean/unkept. Location is amazing. Cons: Appliances are small but not scary small or out to date. Apartment itself is small for how much it is. If you only use hot water in the shower it comes out brown.”
— 214 EAST 51 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Nice super who lives on site. Video intercom and double doors keeps the place safe - never had any issues. Laundry on site. Tiny elevator but it exists. Relatively quiet building. Trash goes in back of the building and large item removal. Near police and fire station if that matters to you. Exterminator comes regularly. Cons: **2nd Year Update** Noise has gotten worse. Trash builds up. Elevator buttons are always broken. Energy rating is a F causing bills to be $200+ even when out of town and not using a/c. Really would not recommend if the building is going to keep going downhill.** Units are small for the price - definitely see before signing. Water pressure is good, but water is debatably clean. Not a modern building so extremely hot in the summer. Heat can’t be controlled in the winter. You can hear any and everything in the building hallways, but it’s relatively quiet in your apartment. No package room, all packages just sit in the lobby. If you aren’t there to buzz your package in, it likely won’t get delivered. No regular cleaning/maintenance of hallways - watched spills and trash be left around for weeks. Laundry is $4 a load, figure out if there are cheaper options you’re willing to use. Gas appliances if that matters to you. Appliances are not all updated - no stainless steel here. Advice to landlord: Get the water/pipes checked. Brown water is genuinely concerning. Invest in cleaning of the hallways/stairwell/elevator at least once a month - people pay enough.”
— 214 EAST 51 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: well maintained. Responsive Cons: Older tenants in rent controlled apartments (some apartments are rent controlled) can nosy and complain at the slightest noise levels.”
— 214 EAST 51 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: has laundry, elevators and generally quiet residents. Has locked front door to the building. Cons: Management (and in particular the superintendent) are never responsive. The garbage management leads to bugs following you to the elevator, A/C is INSANELY loud. Beware American roaches as the building was built pre-war and was never renovated.”
