“Pros: Excellent neighborhood — super convenient to get anywhere! Lots of natural light and very friendly neighbors. Cons: Sometimes there are cockroaches, and the building hallways can be pretty dirty.”

— 174 HESTER STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great location, close to everything Cons: Haven't fixed the hot water in months. There are way too many rats, and they haven't fixed it in months.”
— 174 HESTER STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Responsiveness of management and great location. Cons: Rats, leaky ceilings, and gets really hot in the summer.”
— 174 HESTER STREET · Manhattan“Pros: You're right at the crossroads of Chinatown and Little Italy. Tons of good food. Everything from truly delicious & cheap Dim Sum to a fancy Italian dinner within one block radius. Cons: Tourists everywhere outside (and they walk SO. SLOWLY.) You can sometimes hear the noise from tourists on Mulberry singing karaoke. Oh, also, cockroaches in the bathroom... Advice to landlord: It's only worth it to live here if you REALLY REALLY love Chinese food / Dim Sum. Great eats for everyone's budget. (not so much the case for the Italian food)”
— 174 HESTER STREET · Manhattan“Pros: My apt is renovated. Easy to throw trash out downstairs behind the stairs. Heat works well, I’m never cold. In fact I’m usually hot. They turned down the water pressure of the toilet to “save money” but I just turned it back and it’s back to normal! Otherwise have fun flushing 3x for just pee. I negotiated a rent from $3400 to $2500. I had weekly laundry taken off as well. Finally NY landlords are desperate so use it all the way! Cons: Loud as fuck because Of the damn Italian restaurants singing “dancing queen” 4x a week to dumb screeching girls. Super responds but won’t show up till 2-3 weeks later unless you create panic. Hes a nice guy though, easygoing. Street is loud early in the morning. I live on the north side so if that’s an issue watch out. Advice to landlord: Install better windows to keep out noise. Which they won’t do but hey, I tried. You tried to save money by decreasing the water pressure of the toilet. It wastes more water Bc ppl end up flushing more times. Dumb move.”
