“Pros: Elevator, good sized apartments Cons: I had a constant issue with the hot water being completely brown in this building. I lived in two units and both had the same issue. The building would not give me a rent concession while the issue persisted (the issue was never resolved)”

“Pros: Pretty common areas, except for floor hallways. Cons: The Super was annoying to work with. He would deny issues existed. Our freezer would have sheets of ice at the bottom and eventually leak all over the floor. He refused to fix it/replace it. And said it’s something we should deal with.”

“Pros: The building looks amazing at first pass through (but it’s not) and the location is great. Cons: Terrible terrible terrible management. I’ve been in nyc over a decade, worst building I’ve lived in! Barely clean. They try to sneak in charges all the time. The landlord is truly a bad person, nickel and dimes. Takes weeks for management to respond. I had to call a lawyer to email them to fix my broken heat! Highly recommend literally anywhere else.”

“I have been very extremely happy living in the 55 building. I am older and I can honestly say that of all the maintenance and concierge staff working here , if I ever had a problem and needed help, every single one of them would drop what they are doing to assist me. That 's just the way I feel about our guys and also the 75 staff are wonderful. About 1 and 1/2 years ago a family moved next door to me - our front doors practically intersect.- and now, I am drowning in Marijuana and tobacco smoke. My eyes burn and tear, my Asthma ( which was more like a childhood exacerbation ) -is now causing shortness of breath. These neighbors flood the hallway with their stinking suffocating smoke. I have called and written letters as many of my neighbors have as well. This is a nightmare for me- and also Brodsky's nightmare & headache as I It takes a lot to kick tenants out. It doesn't look like these people are going anywhere , ever. I will be moving out at the end of my lease and I hope I feel better after that.”

“We lived in the building for 15 happy wonderful years. The feeling we had between management, staff and neighbors was like living with one big happy family. We moved out of the city for a little over a year. When we decided to come back there was nowhere we would consider living but back home at West End Towers. When we moved as sad as we were to leave, the management could not have been kinder or more helpful. In particular the brightest shining star here in the Leasing Manager, the amazing, fantastic, Suzanne Lucas. She made the moving out process as easy as possible and when we called saying we wanted to come back, she was not only thrilled to have us back, she could not have been more accommodating. We cannot say enough about this amazing woman, smart, kind and helpful in every way. We've said it to her and will say it again here, SHE IS THE BEST!!! And her staff and the rest of building management and staff are literally like family to us. We are so grateful to be back home!!! Best building, best people, best prices in Manhattan. WE LOVE WEST END TOWERS!!! Rob and Amy Sayers”

“Review for 75 West End Ave, lower floor. I Wish I could give this place a better review. I moved here last year and had to find a place to live quickly as I was starting a new job. The no fee buildings were really the only way to go since I didn't have time to deal with condo board approvals and don't want to commit to buying anything at this early stage in my job. I am a 50-something female exec living alone - husband's job is in another city and we travel to see each other every week. Have had a non-ending series of problems with my neighbor. She is a heavy pot smoker - 3x day - and also a heavy cigarette smoker. The smoke literally comes through the drywall (I've sealed up all of the baseboard and outlets). How do I know? Because she also set her apartment on fire. Set.Her.Apartment.On.Fire. The smoke visibly poured through the drywall into my apartment. She yells in a paranoid fashion at all hours ("Who do they think they are???!!!" "I'm going to make you sorry!!!!" and so forth). Her dog barks all day and night. I've complained, and so have many of the neighbors on the floor. Nothing. No response from the management. No change in the behavior. Scary and an ongoing bummer to come home to that every evening (yes she "works from home" which means that she's awake all night ... smoking, yelling, setting things on fire). The neighbors above me scrape chairs back and forth ("rrrrrkrkkkkk!!!!") constantly starting at about 3 AM. In general, the doormen and front desk people are nice, I will say that. The building is undergoing a "facelift" but it's older and shabbily constructed. Just can't compete with the newer buildings going up all around the neighborhood. Will leave as soon as I can do so.”

“For those searching for an apartment, West End Towers (and all Brodsky properties) are NO-FEE rentals. Check here before seeing a real estate agent and save yourself a fee. Generally a good place to live. I have been here 10 years. The elevators have been renovated, a year long project that caused inconvenience but is now complete. A major lobby and hallway renovation is nearing completion. The renovations are nice but in my opinion were unnecessary; done more to modernize in order to keep up with the new buildings that have sprung up in the area in the last few years. The apartments are quiet and clean. Neighbors are polite. If there is one drawback to the building, there is no real sense of community, no common areas such as recreation rooms or a roof deck, which are often found in newer buildings. But I suppose everyone retreating to their own apartment is very New York. There is a NYSC gym in the building that is not included in the rent. However. their rates are reasonable and they are always offering membership specials. The gym is decent, it has a pool and it is convenient so there are no excuses for not getting downstairs to the gym. There is a small park across the street with a recently renovated children's play area. There is a privately run day care service on the corner. I have never heard of any insect or bedbug problems in the building. The doormen/concierge are friendly and professional. All deliveries are safe and secure. There is a dry cleaning/laundry service that delivers to the building. There are two laundry rooms on the first floor, run by an outside company, and new machines were recently installed that take payment cards so you no longer have to keep a lot of quarters for the machines. The maintenance workers are prompt and professional. The common areas are cleaned regularly and all repairs are completed in a timely manner. Garbage chutes and recycling rooms are on every floor. The building is pet friendly and there are many beautiful dogs coming and going. The dog owners are generally responsible about cleaning up after their pets. The area is quiet. A few retail stores have sprung up and hopefully more to come as new apartment buildings appear in the area. There are several grocery stores nearby - Western Beef, Jubilee, Gracefully and Gourmet Garage. There is a 24 hour convenience store/deli 1 block away. There is a Whole Foods at Columbus Circle. One block away (on West End Ave between 61/62) is a great bagel shop. The area is mostly residential. That helps keep the area relatively quiet and clean. However. Lincoln Center is only two blocks away. There are restaurants and shops of all types within walking distance on Broadway, Columbus Ave and Amsterdam Ave. There is a public housing development across the street that is clean, quiet and well maintained. I walk through there at all hours without any problem other than a occasional whiff of marijuana. High school basketball leagues use the courts and I sometimes stop for a few minutes to watch the games. The LaGuardia Performing Arts High School is within one block and their performances are open to the public. (That is also your polling place on election days.) Although not right on the corner, the 1-2-3 and A-B-C-D trains are within walking distance. The 57, 66 and 72 crosstown buses are very close. In the morning and evenings there is a free shuttle to 59th St. /Columbus Circle. Taxis are often waiting in front of the building and there is much taxi availability on West End Ave. Riverside Park is nearby and there is easy access to the walking/jogging/bike path along the Hudson River (stretches from downtown to GW Bridge). Central Park is also in the area. There is a new Citibike station on 64th St. and West End Ave.”

“Well, I've just read two reviews of this building, and I have to strongly disagree with them. Though there was a period of time when the elevators weren't working, and then there was a period when new ones were being installed, so there always were some down, I have to say that now that renovation on them is just about done, they are faster and cleaner and they get you where you have to go. I have no problem going to the laundry room and then going back to my apartment. The front entrance is now being renovated, and with patience that area will look sparkling new and modern. I have always found the management helpful and pleasant to deal with. I am always greeted with a smile when I go to the office for help. The staff is great. Any problems and they are taken care of quickly. As far as transportation is concerned, we are way west and though it is true there are no subways on the corner, it's just a two block walk to one. If you don't want to walk the two blocks, there are two crosstown buses at your doorstep. If you're still unhappy, every morning there is a shuttle that takes you right to Columbus Circle and another in the evening that will take you home. Sure there's traffic, and sometimes the shuttle is late, but that's NYC!! I've lived here for 6 years and love everything about it! NY Sports Club right on the main floor with a great pool. Great people and walking distance from Lincoln Center and the theater district. Great neighborhood and great people. I plan to live here for a long time!”

“The elevators have ruined this building for me. I could list a bunch of of positives (neighborhood, some of the front desk guys) or negatives (building feels old and not well maintained, ever-present scaffolding), but everything else seems irrelevant when it can take up to 20 minutes to go up or down because once again, one (or two) of the three elevators are out of service. Need to walk the dog in the morning before work? Better build in an extra 30-40 minutes unless you want to run the risk of being late. Want to do laundry on the weekend? May as well stay downstairs while the load runs, because if the elevators aren't in tip top shape that day, you're just going to be turning around shortly after you get back upstairs. It seems like the most frequently uttered phrase by the front desk is "I called the repair guys, they're on their way." After a year+ of terrible service, the crowning glory was a night when for several hours, all three elevators were down. The building finally announced in April 2014 that it would be replacing the elevators, but the only visible progress so far is that one of the three has been taken entirely out of service while they work on it. Today I found myself (once again) waiting in line in the lobby because there's only one elevator servicing 39 floors. But don't worry - they promised me that the repair guy is on his way.”

“Ok, let's first address the elevant errrr elephant in the room: the elevators in this building are notorious! So much so that this ended up being a deal killer for me and I decided against renting here after reading reviews, looking up the building's report card -- https://www.addressreport.com/manhattan-apartments/75-west- -- and not seeing any sign from other reviewers that this chronic problem has been fixed. Also, for those not aware, this building isn't really close to any subway entrances at all and if you want to ride Citi Bike, forget it - there are no Citi Bike locations close to here.”

“I lived at 75 West End for one year and I couldn't wait to get out. The building feels dingy and outdated, the elevators are always broken, most of the doormen are rude and I had two bikes stolen from the storage room. The amenities in the building are lame - no gym, roof deck or common areas. The pros are the apartments are good sized, the morning shuttle to 59th street is a nice perk and the location is close to Riverside Park and Central Park. I would never recommend this building as a place to live.”

“I have waited until living here 12 months to write this review. I read the reviews on here before signing my lease and I found it helpful; in return i want to help someone else with their decision. First of all the reviews about the horrible and inconsistent elevator service is TRUE. I can't say I wasn't warned. There have been 2 occasions in 12 ,months I had to use the stairs because the elevators in my tower (all 3) failed. Next, i recall reading a review on here saying their were problems with bed bugs, also TRUE! By law the leasing agent disclosed this to us as the signing of our lease, but I never thought it would happen to us. It did!!! The management team was very responsive, but it took 4 months to get rid of them! I was completely disgusted, especially since I'm Extremely clean and a bonified neat freak. In regards to he smell of urine on the sidewalk entrance to the building, also TRUE, and was horrible during the summer months. Although I list several negatives, my 2br 2ba unit on a high floor is really nice, we have a beautiful wing layout, which is the best and largest unit the building has. Neighboring buildings are 2k more a month for similar space. The staff is friendly and once you get used to the place it becomes home. Also, I should note that my unit is very quiet, although I hear that's not always he case on lower floors. I should not have moved here, but I have made the best of it.”

“I have lived at 75 West End for 5 years. It is a wonderful place to live. We have even started a group for the residents that uses email to get information, find things like housekeepers or window washers, or doctors or even to borrow items like bridge chairs. We get together every few weeks to chat and get to know each other. It is a warm and friendly place. The apartments are wonderful and I have found that the rents are reasonable. The managers office is always open and available for anything I have ever needed. Marie, Ralph and the Superintendent Andrew are all warm and friendly. The maintenance staff gets the job done in a timely manner and the men are trustworthy and efficient. The door people and the people at the desk always have a smile, and are welcoming and knowledgeable both for things in the neighborhood as well as the building. The free shuttle to Columbus Circle is something that you can't put a price on. The gym has just been taken over by NY Sports Club. They are re-modeling it and it is a wonderful place to do that work-out that makes you feel so much better when you are done. The staff there always smiles and is always there to help if you need it. There are always fresh clean towels, and the locker rooms are sparkling. The pool is great and the lifeguards are there to help if you forget how to swim!! The classes are well run and very upbeat. From the moment I walked into the rental office in 2009 I knew this was where I wanted to live. Suzanne greeted me with a smile and a warm handshake. She listened to what I needed in the apartment, and was patient with me as I turned down some of the choices. But she knew the minute she had found it!! This is a gem of a building and a great neighborhood!”

“We have lived in the building for 6 years. The management company will not invest in the elevators. They are constantly being repaired and the waits are unbearable. Once repaired they last a day to a week before breaking again. Our neighbor has been trapped over a dozen times. This past weekend all 3 elevators in the park tower were not working from 10:00pm until 1:00am . Neighbor had to climb 19 floors. Residents are threatening a rent strike and telling all prospective renters when they tour the building with the leasing staff to not rent here.”

“We live in the park tower, and the elevators are always under maintenance or broken down. So be prepared to wait, and I am telling you one elevator for 39 elevators is a nightmare. This is so common that you don't even see a notice anymore.”

“I've lived in the West End Towers, since 2013 and I really love it, specifically 55 West End Avenue. I used to live in the Equity Trump Place buildings on Riverside Blvd, prior to the West End Towers for 6 years, and loved living there, except for the constant raise in rents and the terrible management. Honestly, in comparing Trump to West End Towers, I'll take West End Towers any day. When I've had an issue, the maintenance guys have taken care of my repairs on the same day, sometimes, within the same hour that I requested the maintenance service. I can't speak for 75 West End Avenue, which is 3x the size of 55 West End Avenue, but the people that live in 55 West End Avenue, somewhat look out for each other. Most people that are living here, have lived here, almost as long as the building opened 20 years ago. Yes, we are definitely far over on the west side, but if you know that, then be prepared for it. The cross town bus, the M57 literally stops in front of the building, which can take people to the subway at Columbus Circle. The building does provide a free bus shuttle in the mornings and evenings to the Columbus Circle subway. I've live in the neighborhood for more than 8 years, so it doesn't bother me to make the 10 minute walk to Columbus Circle, especially on nice days. The only major issue that I have, is with the mosquitoes, that attack me in the summer and fall. Since the new high-rises have started going up on West End Avenue @w60th Street, there seems to be a major mosquito issue for residents of 55 West End Avenue, but I don't think I can blame the management for that. I am hoping that once the other two buildings are done in the next year, that the issue should resolve itself. By the way, you can hear your neighbors, if you're in the hallway, but I don't have any major issues hearing my neighbors overall, except for the one that I share a wall with. I have to admit, he is annoying about his radio play and there have been a couple of times that he has played his stereo way too loud at 1 AM, but luckily, that's only happened a couple of times. When I reported the loud radio play to the doorman, the doorman did immediately contact that neighbor. In regards to the elevators, I'm glad that they've replaced the elevators, although it took a year, it's 100% better to have faster elevators, even with the aggravation of waiting a full year. It's now done, so it was worth it. Maintenance has to happen with a building that is over 20 years.”

“Lived here for 10 years and watched the community expand and gentrify. 55 WEA is very quiet, smaller building compared to 75 WEA sister building. GREAT area for all kinds of people (active, introvert, singles, married w/ kids, elders, etc. River walk/bike park and kid parks nearby, nice new eateries opening, and crosstown bus stop in front of building. Western Beef grocery is downstairs. Laundry room is so-so, but does the job. Small fitness room, it's decent. Rent spike last year and again this year, it went up too much for us. After 10 years of modest rental lifestyle in Manhattan, it's time to move out of the city.”

“Homely apartment. This is our oasis in the city. Quiet area, quiet neighbors. Safe neighborhood. Kids-friendly, dogs friendly. Doorman and concierge staff are great, esp. Tony and Alan. Maintenance staff respond within 24 hours. When moving in, your moving truck can park front of building (where else can you do that in nyc?) and the service elevator dedicated to your moving within the time frame. This saves you moving time (money!). Tip: get a corner unit under the 10th floor. You get the views and fast elevator.”

“I lived here for six months (sublet it from the original owner) and was really disappointed by the overall experience. The noise was a big problem for me. I feel that the apartments here are like shoe boxes with wall that are really thin and you can practically hear your neighbor sneeze or laugh. One of my neighbors used to listen to her television and I could hear it every evening. This same neighbor used to exercise in the morning (around 7-7:15 am) and the floor/wall of my apartment along with the bed used to shake a little. This was really annoying as I could never sleep beyond 7 am ever. The room and the halls used to constantly smell of smoke and it was difficult breathing sometimes. My other neighbor played loud music several times a week and I could it through the wall and even in the corridors. She also used to chat really loudly at odd hours (3 or 4am) and even play music and I remember waking up terrorized in the middle of the night and feeling helpless. I complained to the management several times and after the fourth or the fifth time, they sent up a guy who did not speak English and who insisted that the noise was from outside when it was clear that it was from the walls. Some of the pros of living here were: a well equipped gym, a spacious laundry room, great maintenance staff with a quick turnaround time and polite front desk staff. However, I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone who is living alone and prefers quiet surroundings.”

“I have been a resident at West End Towers for quite a few years. At times, as in many other buildings, elevators are taken out of service for various repairs and maintenance. I find it extremely unfortunate that some fellow tenants think that the management company doesn't care about their tenants, when in fact these repairs and preventative maintenance are done for our safety. It may be inconvenient at times, it may be frustrating, but I don't think it's fair to put a building down based on that alone. Overall, the building is well maintained, the staff is friendly and courteous and the prices can't be beat. If you aren't happy with a nice building, in a great location that doesn't raise your rent 20% at lease renewal time, then maybe you should move out, but I think I'll take the good with the bad and stay here a few more years!”

“YES, IT IS TRUE, 75 WEST END IS A GREAT DEAL. BUT YOU MUST FACTOR IN THAT THE ELEVATORS ARE CONSTANTLY BROKEN IN THIS BUILDING AND BRODSKY DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS BUILDING ASK THEM SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THE ELEVATORS. ASK THEM HOW SOON THEY WILL BE REPLACED. THEY ARE BEYOND REPAIR. WHEN THEY TRY TO SKIRT THE QUESTION, ASK THEM HOW MANY DAYS OF EACH MONTH THE ELEVATORS ARE OUT. THEIR ANSWER SHOULD BE THAT AT LEAST ONE ELEVATOR IN EACH TOWER IS CONSTANTLY OUT OF ORDER. THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION IN A BUILDING THAT HAS 39 FLOORS AND 1,000 APARTMENTS.”

“We've lived in West End Towers for 2 yrs. The apartment complex has a great location and our apartment was on a high floor with unobstructed water views of the Hudson River, but we had to deal with neighbors who smoked marijuana several times a week and created unpleasant odors in the hallway. We met repeatedly with management but they refused to deal with the problem so the tenants just kept smoking marijuana. This same apartment also had an untrained dog who barked repeatedly sometimes as late as 10 pm during the week. The parents were a young couple with 2 minor male children who were constantly going to the trash room in the hallway and slamming the door. This would happen 10-15 times a night as if the trash room was their personal trash can. The children would scream and yell loudly in the hallway. Everyone in the apartment appeared stoned out most of the time. After a year of complaining to management without results, we stopped. it was fruitless. We parked our Land Rover in the garage and the staff was completely unprofessional. When it rained the garage looked like a flood with water everywhere. The staff in the garage did not speak English and seemed to have no idea how to park our SUV. We paid a premium to live in this apartment building and we had to endure unprofessional behavior. Lots of foreign born residents and clearly the building is not a luxury complex. there are better choices if you want to live in this area with nicer amenities also. I woud not suggest this place.”

“If you are on a high floor you will have only 3 other units and a decent balcony. Views are spectacular especially to the S/W (long Hudson view). Huge floorplan - most new layouts are half the size. Lower floors are loud and stuffy. Smokers with no balcony on lower floors use the stairwell and it will enter your apartment big-time. Elevators can be problematic. Construction noise begins 7am sharp complete with vibration. Garage access from building and self-park option a huge bonus but very dirty (dark brown dust and leaking overhead pipes)plus chewing gum theft a bit creepy. The kitchen vent enters the unit (baths exit) and emits a vile odor - easy to fix with high quality clear tape. Staff is decent. Very safe feel. Bottom line: high floor is paradise if you luck out with decent neighbors - like any place that can be a deal-breaker. Big furniture fits!”

“I am a med student, living in a studio, I have a great view of Midtown, Lincoln Center, and the time warner buildings. I made a point of introducing myself to the entire staff and have made many friends. The doormen are helpful and I am probably the noisiest one on the floor. This place is great for the price, the only downside is that it is somewhat of a trek to 66th and broadway for the 1 train. To get to 59th st. columbus circle however is usually not a problem due to the free shuttle starting at 6 am on the weekdays.”
