“Unit 2 Pros: - convenient location - central air in units - flexible/negotiable prices Cons: - no dishwashers - no laundry available - water pressure was iffy - walls are super thin, can hear neighbor conversations/TV - no proper roof access - some damage to walls/ceilings from water - not every unit up to date Advice to landlord: invest a bit more in the property to justify prices, it could be beneficial”
— 91 BROADWAY · Brooklyn“Pros: Location: 10 min walking to J/M trains and 1 stop away from Manhattan, but J or M won't take you to that many places so it's still a lot of transfers depending on destination. Cons: I liked NOTHING about this building. It's catered to younger people desperate to settle in NYC and willing to overpay for a place that is barely habitable. Many issues: 1) I had a fake 2-bed (bedrooms were very small), bathroom was tiny and didn't have a proper ventilation system (nor window), so things got really moldy over there. 2)Same thing happened with the so-called kitchen: no vents nor windows, so I couldn't really cook (unless making salads is considered cooking). 3) There was a leak in the kitchen sink that also resulted in mold and was deliberately ignored by the landlord. 4) Internet: coaxials were broken before I moved in (learned through the provider) so I couldn't get Spectrum, and neither Verizon was available in the building, so I resorted to a mobile hotspot which is far from ideal for remote work. 5) Finally, to make things worse, the business below the residential area of that building is a funeral home and I have seen trash bags marked "biohazardous materials" disposed of carelessly in front of the front door without any special containers - I have no idea what was inside and really don't want to know but none of that procedure seems kosher to me. 6) Oh and landlord made sure to hike the rent after a year (+50%) and refused to negotiate as I was willing to stay a bit longer. Advice to landlord: None, he knows what needs to be done. He is a dishonest landlord, and he was rude and disrespectful to me every time we talked after I signed the lease and made the deposits. He is a shame to the Williamsburg community (includes all cultures and religions practiced there, not just his) and I don't wish him anything bad but want other tenants to avoid his building at all costs.”
— 91 BROADWAY · Brooklyn“Unit 202 Pros: The area is great, far enough from marcy ave and close to domino. The apartment is cute and has new appliances Cons: Um no one ever mentioned there is a morgue under us and we see dead bodies multiple times a week. A little unsettling. Landlord is unresponsive for the most part Advice to landlord: To handle situations better and to respond to tenants maybe dont hang up the phone mid conversation”
— 91 BROADWAY · Brooklyn“Pros: Small building, updated security system so always felt safe, clean and not too loud. Lovely block to live on and close to everything. Cons: Landlord would not handle issues right away, but instead would wait until it was impossible to ignore (IE: ceiling leaks).”
