— 383 1 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: heating is ok. Cons: building's poorly maintained in the common areas and rarely cleaned. Some neighbours are loud, rowdy, noisy frat boy types. The building is super old and the pipes make enough noise that to disturb your sleep in the morning.”

Literally the only positive. Cons: The steam risers make noise EVERY SECOND. Imagine Barry Bonds is in the basement swinging a bat against the base pipes every other second. Every day. Not to mention, ask to see the boiler before moving in. Had a friend who specializes in contracting with HVAC systems come look at it, and he told me point blank the system is ready to explode at any second. Really great wondering if I'm going to die in my sleep. Sent plenty of emails regarding the issues, videos of the faulty system, you think of something to try and fix the issue and odds are I did it. The response I got? "Well winter will be over soon and the boiler will turn off" .... awesome, so what happens next year since I signed a long term lease? Advice to landlord: I'd give advice, but Kahen obviously is full of a bunch of individuals who do not care to listen.”
