“Unit 2D Pros: Laundry on every floor Location Building staff for the most part Cons: Ongoing roach infestation Sewage coming up through dishwasher Black mold Illegal scaffolding that has been up for 3+ years, which has contributed to the pests (same story for its sister building, 305 E. 86th Street) Unmaintained lobby (huge gash in wall behind doorman's station that is taped up w/ cardboard - it's been that way for upwards of 10 years) Advice to landlord: Sell the building to someone who cares!”
— 16O EAST 88 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The unit I lived in had a really nice kitchen with a window but the window was painted shut. Nice california closets already installed in the apartment. Very friendly neighbors. Cons: The management was horrible! UES management is super rude. One of my doorman sexually harassed my roommate and because he was union they could not fire him, only suspend him for 3 weeks. The other doorman were great. Super was a bully The neighbor above me left their hose on their terrace on overnight and it flooded my apartment. Had to have my walls and floors ripped up, management was rude, gave me the run around. They painted over the wet plaster 3 times which prolonged the repairs. Did not want to refund me rent when my apt was uninhabitable. Advice to landlord: Get better management”
