“Pros: Super is reliable Cons: Owner is not responsive, dismisses claims until you threaten to cal 311. Then they respond to your calls. I complained about having no heat for years and they never did anything until we threatened to call 311. I’ve had a leak in my apartment for 15 years they fix it and it leaks again 6 months later until one day my entire corner of my ceiling came down at night. Advice to landlord: Take peoples concerns seriously. Shouldn’t have to threaten to get things done.”
— 612 OCEAN AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Live in super can be available Cons: Live in super is hard to reach Management never responds / ignores your concerns Front door / entrance gets broken often Package stealing Elevators are not stable at times Laundry room / elevators are closed sometimes after hours (6-8PM) Advice to landlord: Get it together. The quality of this building used to be good. We had a doorman once. We had a holiday spirit once (ex: Christmas tree put up in the big hallway that is never used). We never had such high theft on packages or often broken doors with blood / glass all over the place. We also once had a better management team whom responded to every inquiry, whether or not it takes days. Our super was always available and active with the required knowledge to fix any and everything.”
— 612 OCEAN AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: The rent is on a cheaper side and apartments are spacious Cons: Leaks, mice, cockroaches, hard to get things fixed, management is unresponsive.. always random people sitting in the hallways, listening to music and smoking weed. Imposible to get a hold of management. Advice to landlord: Check in your buildings and respond and accordingly when tenants call/send complaints!”
