“Unit 4 Pros: Clean, good location. Cons: Landlord fraudulently claimed Emergency Renters Assistance, telling the agency we had not paid rent in months, when we had. Advice to landlord: Don't commit fraud”
— 537 CENTRAL AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: spacious well lit roof deck in penthouse Cons: mgmt sucks only one laundry that breaks down issues like leaks Advice to landlord: put more effort”
— 537 CENTRAL AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Nice amount of space and light. Minimal street noise. Good deli on the corner (and one not so good deli). In building washer and dryer. Cons: Walls are thin and you can hear what's going on in the bedrooms from the living room and vice versa. Small German cockroach presence which we were able to get under control with some effort. Dryer in basement doesn't work well and you need to put in at least $3 to dry a full load. Owner/management increased rent 30% when we tried to renew.”
— 537 CENTRAL AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Laundry in basement which smells terrible to do mold and mildew Cons: Landlords/management does not care about your problems at all, expensive rent for not great neighbor or building or management, management does not return phone calls or have any emergency numbers available Advice to landlord: Ditch your property management company they are horrible with dealing with tenants and don’t seem to care whatsoever I would literally stay for years if it wasn’t for them”
— 537 CENTRAL AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: +good area near Broadway with many bodegas Cons: -no closets -landlords were racist to my roommate, took months to send security deposit Advice to landlord: Please talk to your POC tenants with the same respect and eye contact you give to your white tenants”
