“Pros: I like the area - conveniently located next to two large grocery stores, one block from the train, and multiple parks nearby. The area feels safe at night, probably because we are near comlumbia's campus. Cons: The building is very dirty - there is alway trash or dog pee in the stairs, the trash is overflowing outside and 109th street is known locally as "rat block". We also had a big roach problem in the kitchen when we first moved in. It's cleared up now but took some time, some of our own cleaning/bug proofing, etc. Advice to landlord: Clean the common spaces more regularly, and have a better trash system. Also, the kitchen cabinets could use a lot of updating. They have years of grime build up, flaked paint scraps from the ceiling. (could it be lead paint?) and generally falling apart.”

“Unit bb Pros: Best location in the city, responsive management most of the time, very few pests Cons: Right next to a school so it's very loud during the day, heat is broken sometimes, they're charging too much cause they know the college kids will pay it”

“Pros: Location, Location, Location. Super close to train station, columbia university, and everything you need (groceries, bobba, donuts, halal cart, everything!) Cons: Unresponsive management!!! Rarely pick up our phone, lost package, bad trash management.”

“Pros: The heat worked well and I enjoyed the water pressure. Cons: This apartment is not worth the cost at all. My packages were stolen MULTIPLE times and I called to let the landlord know and they did nothing. I asked for cameras to possibly be installed and they did nothing. The mice problem outside is absolutely disgusting. They are in the trash right outside, they run right by your feet all the time. The CREAKING is atrocious. You can hear everything in the floor above, not to mention the school being right outside and it being SO LOUD. Overall, these landlords don’t care at all about you. There is no live-in super to help with any concerns. Advice to landlord: Be better. Care for your tenants.”
