“Pros: The apartment had good space and functionality. The management was typically responsive and efficient. Cons: Not well enough updated and maintained, but in a classic NYC low budget kind of way. Advice to landlord: None”

“Pros: Super close to the 6 train and the super was usually quick to respond Cons: we had multiple mice even after sealing all holes in the walls and roaches were an issue towards the end of our lease”

“Unit 8 Pros: It’s not neglected. The super is around and there is a man mopping, salting, and taking out the trash all the time. It’s regularly exterminated too. Cons: I mean it’s not in great shape but that makes sense given the low price we pay. Also the super only responds to really urgent stuff. Advice to landlord: Our super is responsible for too many buildings! He can’t give his best to everything even though he tries!”

“Unit 8 Pros: Very good deal, no hazards, no problems, location for a multi bed apartment for the price is unheard of. Cons: Not super responsive to issues that aren’t hazardous but I have seen way worse apartments from my peers. Advice to landlord: Get our super some more help!”

“Pros: In unit laundry and dishwasher, maintenance has always been relatively responsive (do have to reach out to them on multiple channels though), LL usually responses within a day or two on requests and questions. There is a free exterminator who comes every month. Garbage management was good. Rooms facing the inside/alley have great noise reduction. Cons: Heating was a mess at times. In the winter the boiler broke probably 5 times leaving us with no heat, and it would take a day to fix. Then the heat would be on really high at times or when the outdoor temp was at 60+ which made it super hot inside with no way to turn it off. No doorman or mailroom protection - not a huge issue but had one package stolen. Towards the end we had a roach problem probably because of people moving in and out, told maintenance and they ignored us Advice to landlord: Figure out the boiler/hearing issue, this was the only thing besides non-controllable factors that made me want to move”

“Pros: good location, noise isn't bad but it is close to the fire department/hospital so sometimes there are sirens, pretty communicative property owners, pretty clean Cons: sometimes heating got a little annoying - either very hot or stopped working, but management worked on it quickly”

★★★★★Oct 2022

“Pros: Location, in unit laundry, and apartment is pretty spacious for the price, we personally haven’t had pests or noise issues Cons: Management could be more responsive, indoors could use some cleaning/upgrading to look a little nicer. No doorman/virtual doorman Advice to landlord: Be more responsive, make sure the inside is cleaned up”

★★★★★May 2022

“Pros: - affordable - some nice neighbors - lots of sunlight because south facing has unobstructed views - amazing location Cons: - package thieves in the building - no operating cameras in any hallways of the building - rooftop is alarmed and the alarm went off at least once every other week - severe cockroach problem throughout the building - straight across the street from assisted income housing so there were ambulance and police sirens 2-5x a night Advice to landlord: Please pay more attention to pest control as well as making sure that cameras are set up at least by the mailbox area.”

★★★★★Nov 2021

“Pros: Location was nice Cons: Well, there were multiple dead mice on our hallway staircase on multiple occasions. Ceiling leaked from the tenants above us and our wall paint came off - dropped onto all my belongings. Oven, stove and washer + dryer all broke two days into moving in. Advice to landlord: Think about if you wanted to live there”
