160 BEACH 117TH OWNERS CORP · avg 2.5 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Pros: Neighbors are great Cons: Roaches, mouse, you rarely see the super but whenever you talk to her, she will be rude and unhelpful. All of the apartments are leased as subleases with the landlord's name being as general as John Smith, they don't give a phone number for the management office and you can't go to the management office either. If you do stop by, the sign on the door is very discouraging for folks to come by. If I remember the language is something like the office is closed until further notice. I only saw a real person because I was dropping off money. Choose peace and pick another (better managed) building. Advice to landlord: Invest in at least monthly extermination for the ENTIRE building. I've never seen an exterminator here but there's constantly a list of tenants requesting the exterminator. You would think they'd be inclined to have the entire building treated with the amount of people requesting service for their apartments.”

Great sunlight and windows, elevator in building, live in super, pets welcome, close to beach boardwalk that's never overcrowded, close to markets and stores, handicap accessible, laundry in building, free pile of unwanted items, secure mailboxes Cons: Parking especially on weekends in summer, needs painting in hallways and common space, needs more cleaning in general, smokers in building, snoody co-op board, management co has terrible reviews, many bugs, Advice to landlord: Update the building, it is too smelly and moist, control the bugs”
