“Unit 3B Pros: How close it was to the train but that's about it. Cons: I lived in this building a year and a half. It was my first apartment after college so I was super excited to be on my own. First it was a 4 floor walk up. The 2nd floor smelled like garbage or a dead body all the time. There was roaches all over the kitchen, which we did not realize when we went to go see the apartment. Only after moving in did we see the roach infestation coming from the sink. The building is old and run down, it should be torn down and rebuilt.”
— 14 BROADWAY TERRACE · Manhattan“Pros: Secure, good virtual doorman system, packages rarely stolen. Management portal was easy to use and the maintenance requests were pretty responsive. Cons: We had lived in our unit for 2 years when COVID hit. In April, during the peak of COVID in 2020 for NYC, our lease renewal came back at a much higher rent. We had asked to negotiate considering we were good, on time tenants, but they didn’t agree. We ended up moving out to a nicer apartment with more amenities for less than what we were paying. A few months later we checked back on Street East and noticed that our unit was still listed and now for well below what we had been paying. It was a sweet apartment, but not worth the price they were asking. Too bad because we would have loved to have stayed there and not moved during a pandemic.”
— 14 BROADWAY TERRACE · Manhattan“Pros: It was affordable and the neighborhood wasn’t bad. Cons: MICE MICE MICE. The building is totally infested. Advice to landlord: Spend your money actually taking care of the building.”
— 22 BROADWAY TERRACE · Manhattan“Pros: Spacious apartment for one tenant Cons: Pests, specifically cockroaches all over the building. The back of the building is covered with trash and other tenants constantly throw their trash out the window towards the back of the building. Neighbors are constantly fighting and yelling so the entire building hears them. Advice to landlord: Clean the building, serious pest probleMs.”
— 20 BROADWAY TERRACE · Manhattan“Pros: When you actually get ahold of the super or building manager they are quite responsive. Super quiet building, like eerily quiet (except on the street where 6 million cars seem to park or drive by daily). Cons: They are not easy to get ahold of. And the rent is expensive for the location. I have never seen a pest control sign up or exterminator on the premises. They have to shut the water off a lot but it usually only takes a few hours and they notify you what’s happening. Advice to landlord: Get a new super because the guy I’ve dealt with in the past was a MESS. Upgrade the pipes, there have been so many issues in the last 6 months regarding water.”
