I've been living here over a year and the cleanliness of this complex is not up to par for the amount of rent you pay here. The hallways and elevators are filthy. They used to vacuum the hallways every day I haven't seen anyone cleaning in over 8 months. They say they have a shuttle to the ferry there has not been a shuttle yet. The carpets when you move in do not get replaced beware because I have allergies and the person who lived here prior had a pet and I was sneezing for a while until I was able to get all the hair up. When you call maintenance they show up 2 weeks later or not at all. They have an exterminator but if you ask them to send him they will only send him when they feel like it. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy

I lived at "Seaview Estates" for 5 years. It is awful. Only two maintenance men that look very suspicious one eyes women like a rapist. Floors feels like you will fall into you neighbor at any moment. Apartments leaks. Unfortunately it is very easy to get an apartment there so you live with the worst kinds of people. From drug busts, to domestic violence, domestic disturbances, property damage, and be sure NOT TO LEAVE ANY THING VISIBLE IN YOUR CAR. It will be broken into within the hour. Lastly the carpets stink.

These apartments are a joke! So ------ and noisy. They are over priced and not luxurious. I am paying 1130 for a one bedroom and it is as small as a studio. The managements sucks. & the landlord is racist. She finds ways to evict tenants for Her own personal reasons! Do not move to Seaview estates. Get something cheaper and bigger for less!!!

Mgnt/property mgnt are the worst. Only 2 maintenance guys for entire complex so apartment repairs are not completed in a timely manner. Drainage in certain areas are problematic and mgnt does not address it for years. When it floods you better have tall boots! Buildings need work (hole in wall, broken mail boxes). They keep grounds nice in a poor attempt to blindside perspective tenants. Seaview Estates is only convenient for it's close proximity to ferry.

Oh my. Where to begin. My partner and I thought we were getting a good deal when we viewed the apartment with a broker. We saw some...not asthetically pleasing issues with the hallways and elevators but we were rushed through those areas and ushered into what seemed like a nice, clean bright apartment. This was a facade. Soon enough, the cheap paint and quick plaster jobs and shoddy regrout In the bathroom began to fall apart. to make matters worse, when we had a pretty heavy rain storm and MY WINDOw STARTEd heavily leaking, they told me it was a heavy northeaster storm, and sorry about that. Even when my wall started to leak, Not even a mention of when or IF they will be rectifying the major problem of a SEALING ISSUE from the weather. My hubby and I will be taking action with the city. In-friggen-sane.

I lived here a few years back. This was one of the nicest, if not the nicest, apartments I ever rented in NYC. The grounds are really pretty. The security guard was a doll and very helpful always. I had one problem with a leak, but that was resolved pretty quickly. My apartment was spacious, bright and had a nice fireplace. The kitchen was smaller but had a dishwasher (!). The place is five minutes from the ferry. If you don'take the shuttle bus, the NYC bus stops right across the street. The nighborhood is very quiet. There is a huge school right next door and residential homes across the street so not much noise goes on at night. There is a farmers market around the corner on the weekends. there is a deli right across the street. You can walk around the corner to the ferry bus depot to get a bus anywhere on the island. St. George is a Really pretty area and the homes are beautiful. Yes there are a few bad apples in the complex - but you get that everywhere. The building interior isn't exactly glamorous, but it is pretty clean and for the money you pay (VERY inexpensive for a very large, clean apartment in NYC) it's a great place to live. The ferry ride was great every day and I miss it. I highly recommend seaview.

Walls and floors are thin. Management had a problem with me leaving post dated check for rent while I was on vacation but other than that they have been very friendly. Maintenance is quick! and security is very kind and friendly. St George is convenient to manhattan but there is little grocery shopping or much else. The advertisement mentions a free shuttle which technically exists but is not always readily available. You're better of walking to the ferry. Laundry rooms only have 3 washers and dryers but I've yet to have a problem but I'm sure it is only a matter of time. Overall my experience here has been great, the price is wonderful and worth the commute.

This place is terrible. First, you pay a cart load of money, then if you want a pet they charge you $500 per pet plus an addition $25 a month for the pet. ----- (the spy) always looks at you funny if you have pet, he thinks he's the pet detective and the overall ---------- of managment. You have drug dealers and drug users in the complex. Security is a joke, because this place is not safe. Everyone's dishwasher is broken and mold infests every bathroom so much that it creeps out of the caulking and tiles. If you're thinking of moving to this place, think again. Save your money and rent somewhere else, anywhere else BUT here, you'll thank yourself later. My advice is to see for yourself. Speak with a few residance (if possible) and ask their personal opinion. Really read the reviews, because 90% of the time when someone claims something is "bad" it usually is true since statistically people will tell 10 or more persons when something is bad and when something is good they will tell 3 or less. Think about it! Ask yourself why so many folks are writing bad things about this place and saying similar things? Maybe because it's actually true.

Nice complex, close to ferry. Very impressed, how the maintenance crew cleaned this whole place the day after hurricane Sandy. Haven't had to deal much with Security and Management, but they've been pleasant and courteous. Highly recommend.
