The people at gateway are very friendly and very respectful. The staff is super nice and helpful, and timely when I'm need of apartment maintenance. The area is very quiet and calm, location is great.

I recently moved into Gateway, and I have been loving my apartment and the surrounding area. Gateway is right on the water in Battery Park City, and has an entrance straight to the pier. My apartment was recently renovated and has all brand new appliances. My building is very clean with great amenities, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I worked with Kireolos in the leasing office, and he made my move in process very straightforward in easy. I would definitely recommend Gateway to my friends.

Absolutely wonderful experience living at Gateway plaza! From having an excellent location, friendly community, great doormen, accessibility to multiple subways lines and a Citi Bike station right next door, this apartment complex checks several boxes. From a management perspective, they are very professional and communicative. For example, I had to relocate to another city/state for work and need to do a lease takeover. I worked with Nicholas B (from the leasing office) and he was extremely helpful in making the administrative process seamless once I found someone to takeover my apartment. He's awesome, if you get a chance to work with him!

I have lived at Gateway for 24 years, and have just signed a lease to move my mom, who is a senior, to an apartment on my floor. I am grateful for the support that I have received, particularly from Nico Brunschwig in leasing, who made the process so simple and pleasant, and Chris Magnaye in management, who ensured that everything in mom's new home is absolutely safe for her. Both Nico and Chris were always available and willing to help. I look forward to many more happy years at Gateway, for the whole family!

The apartment is beautiful, bright and spacious. More space than I would have expected in NUC. wiI love being home. Friendly neighbors are a plus and dog friendly for my puppy. Dog park right around the corner is also extremely convenient, plus tons of restaurants great mall and grocery store around the corner.

The apartment is so beautiful. There is more space than I even know what to do with and I love being home. Me and my girlfriend are not at all cramped. The only problems that we face is that at random times, the bathroom smells like sewage as the smell comes up from the toilet and it is unbearable. I don't know if it's a plumbing issue or what.

I wish I had read this Yelp review before I had signed a lease at Gateway. Move on. This is not the place you want to live even if you are a budding Goldman analyst looking to be close to the office. First of all, there are no good comments about the management office. They are the most vile human beings and even worse than brokers. They will not be helpful in any respect, whether that is move-in, lock-out or move-out (in fact that will be the best day of your life, similar to winning a lottery). The quality of management should make you run in the other direction. Also in case you need to move or break your lease they charge a hefty 3 months rent penalty (most NYC apartments charge 0.5-1.0 months). In addition, what they don't tell you is that they are running a scam on your electric bill. They use a crummy company that gets it wrong 1/2 the time and during the warm / cold months the bill can exceed $300/month. This is unprecedented, other apartments I have lived the bill (with 2 roommates) was <$75. These are the same roommates I had at Gateway. The way you should think about this apartment is the sticker price (make sure you get the month free rent from these bozos) and then add on about $300/month for electric. Some competing apartments that I thought were 100x better are as follows: Closest comprables are: - 21 West - 90 West Other apartments in the area: - 40 Gold St - 99 John St I have heard much better things about these apartments.

Great job on quick turn around on complaints. Doormen are the best - greet us, take great care of packages. Wish the rents were reduced this year, given it's a renters' market. Rent increases by $100-$200 annually. Easy access to water front, PATH and subways is an added plus. Supermarkets in the neighborhood are expensive.

What a terrible organization! The apartment we moved out of had a horrible smell as it was close to one of the trash rooms. We tried everything - even putting glade in the trash room but nothing helped. if you do move in, be careful when it comes time to renew. We never received the renewal lease; then when we said as much, they sent one and then retracted it and told us to move out. they never gave a reason - probably wanted to increase the rent. we had used Airbnb previously but stopped 8 months before lease renewal. Apartments have great location but the management is not pleasant to work with. Beware! Now we have moved into another building nearby - similar pricing, lovely building and great service. if you have a choice, avoid Gateway.
