I must say that my experience has been that of nyc living but their responses to complaints have, so far, been exceptional. They addressed my complaints quickly. They ask for feedback on what we need from management and staff in order to address the issue. They offer suggestions and deliver solutions. I have never rated a building owner and I happily say I am, thus far, impressed with the solutions to our complaints. Marc and Jessica are an excellent team.

This has got to be the worst apartment management in the entire city of New York. They do not respond to complaints about things needing to be fixed, they cut off water and elevator services with no warning. The laundry rooms and gym are not cleaned and will regularly have rats. They will not refund your security deposit even though you left it in a good condition and they try to weasel their way around lease requirements. Do not make the mistake of living in their buildings on 63rd or 64th Street, you will regret it.

I used to live in the building on 239 on ground floor, the building run down. The area near the project isn't the best. The elevator run slow but since my apartment on ground floor I don't use it much, though the problem with living on ground floor, often I got mice inside my apartment. The neighborhood can be tricky with project at the end of dead end street, I often saw people using & selling drugs. I also experienced with strangers coming in and out going in to the apartment in front of the elevator which I've been told a drug dealer live in the building. Few times I saw few people coming and going from that apartment c while I'm outside waiting for my girlfriend's uber leaving from my place, especially at night and weekends. The building run down, the management need to revive the building.

This was hands down the worst apartment building I ever lived in. These building are directly behind the projects and my neighbors and I would hear gunshots and there would always be cops or ambulances on the street. The elevator and laundry machines were constantly breaking down, the water was turned off multiple times without notice and there were issues with either no or very little hot water in the afternoons. Robert Piven in the office is unprofessional, rude, and at times will not answer back if you have a problem. He and the building management were very shady when it came to security deposits and lease renewals. I personally knew and spoke with a handful of people who were both former and current tenants at the time I lived there who had had legal issues with the building management in terms of rent, security deposits, proper lease renewal notice, etc. The hallways were always filthy. Sometimes trash or dirt would stay on the hallway floors for multiple weeks, and it was very common to see cockroaches in the halls or the apartment units. Literally, the only good thing about this building is the location, but there are so many other choices in the area where the building isn't run like a slum. I know someone that lives in one of the buildings currently and said nothing has changed and that they are wanting to move out as soon as their lease is up. I wouldn't bother living in any of the buildings on 64th or 63rd between 10th & 11th that are part of the 62 West LLC group. Terrible experience for many people.

You pay a lot for a convenient location here and it is NOT worth it. The building is old and falling apart. My ceiling leaked, the toilet pipe burst, the bathtub was painted over and peeling, the stove system failed, etc. The appliances, bathroom, kitchen, and gym are all outdated/unkept. The rooms have terrible floorplans- my bathroom door had a hole in it so you could close it all the way since the toilet blocked the door from closing (in hindsight, it was kind of comical). On top of it all, they failed to give me $300 of my security deposit for "scratched floors," though the floors were that scratched before I moved in. When I contested to Robert, he failed to give me an adequate response and never got back to me after saying he would "look into it." It's not worth fighting for it, but it's just an annoying, shady move. I should have known when I moved into this place that it would not be good. There was rotten chicken in the fridge, dirt all over the floor, a gross knife/fork in the bathroom?, and it smelled like wet paint for months. So if you're going to move here for the 24-hour "concierge" (front desk guy asleep/missing most of the time just for you to pick up packages), outdated washer/dryer in building, and convenient location...there are way better options elsewhere. Please avoid this place.

Avoid this place! The WORST managing company. People who work there are absolutely unprofessional, rude and unhelpful. I moved out in four months ago and still have not received my security deposit back. -------------------------- (?) say that they,63 West Realty, do not owe me anything! I sent a Security deposit demand letter and I will proceed to take action in small claims court to recover the entire amount of the deposit plus late fees and penalty. It is my understanding that they are using my refundable security deposit as a security deposit for my old roommate, who is still a resident of their building. If not, they are just holding the deposit for themselves. Both scenarios are illegal, punishable under New York State Law, and will be brought to court. Yes, this place is cheap and located close to the subway, but you don't want to deal with awful people, cockroaches, dirty walls, broken elevators, etc. Stay away from these scammers and unpleasant, dishonest people.

Staff and management were extremely helpful and always willing to help. 63rd West is a great place to live. The on-site gym and the 24-hour concierge were two of the many things that I loved about the place. If you need a place to live, I highly recommend 63 West.

DO NOT LIVE HERE This building is a disaster, nothing ever works! Elevator is always broken, laundry never works, and their plumbing is a disaster. On top of it, management is useless. Save your money and find somewhere else!

When I moved out, they told me ------------- would be doing the move out inspection. He, oddly enough, was not available at the several times I requested, so "he" had to do the move out inspection without me present. I called and emailed multiple times on and around the move out inspection date to make sure I hadn't left anything missing. When I turned in my keys to the doorman, he assured me he had everything and that he did not need my mailbox key. I had called the day of my move out inspection and was told that 63 West would contact me regarding the move out inspection in 2-3 months. They did not tell me about the $100 charge for the missing mailbox key until it was too late. They also charged me for a missing light cover which was a blatant lie. The light cover was left in the apartment. They later told me it was the wrong light cover, that the light cover they issued was frosted and mine was clear. Let me just say that I did not go out and purchase a fake light cover. This was another $100 fee. I also found out in the aftermath that ------------- was responsible for conducting the move out inspection. He has not been helpful. Overall, I missed the move out inspection, and 63 West took advantage of me. They also refused to put bars on our 1st floor window. It's not a safe block, literally neighbors with Amsterdam Public Housing. There's constantly litter, smoke, drugs and even gun violence.

There are truly no words that can describe my wonderful experience while living at 63 West, but I will try my best. Management, the concierge and maintenance treated me with great respect and there were never any issues if I ever needed help with anything. My apartment was spotless when I moved in, and I never had an issue with any of my appliances. The on-site gym was an excellent perk while I lived at 63rd. Aside from being so close to Lincoln Center and Central, these are just a few reasons I would certainly recommend 63 West to anyone who wanted an ideal place to live.
